Strength:

Performance on a budget. Good acceleration. Excellant ride and handling. Great interior simple and sweet. Lots of fun to drive!

Weakness:

I dont think it really has any real weaknesses. Need a bit more torque but not complaining. A little more streamlined in looks. Based on books and history excellant resale and a reliable record

What a great experience we had buying our brand new 05 Rsx. White pearl/taupe leather. The new one has really improved over the last years model. The rims look great, the extra 10hp and misc other suspension upgrades are well worth the little price increase. I used internet quoting and I think I got the best deal possible. We have great credit and got an interest rate in the 4% range. The salesman stayed way past his quitting time and the Sales mgt team and finance coordinators were great! Now the car! It was my wife's present. She absolutely loves it. Ill keep posting about its reliability and service experience at Performance Acura. The car shifts flawless and sticks to the road like glue.

Powerful, stylish, looks good, performances well, responds quick with no hesitations, Rides Smooth just overall worth it!

Weakness:

Blind Spots is Impossible to see and not enough room in the back!

Well I am into tuning cars but when I got the RSX, I can live with it being stock for now but I will tune it later on. I had a Honda Civic with all the mods that a typical teen would do but it was getting boring so I traded the 99 Hx for a 04 White Type S. 200Hp Stock and the 6 speed is impressive. It seems to be a race car with a touch of luxury on the inside. I definitly recommend this car, low price, great power, looks good, guarantee to bring you some attention.

Model Reviewed: Base RSX 5spd M/T

Strength:

Nice lines, well equiped, excellent fit and finish, comfortable for two people, 4 in a pinch, nice blend of sports car attributes, a touch of luxury, and economy in an affordable package.

Weakness:

Bumps, ruts, seams, irregular road surfaces, etc., can be felt easily. Tradoff for the RSX's excellent handling characteristics. Rear vision is difficult, especially when merging into traffic. High rpms at highway speeds, feels like it could use another gear.

A year ago I bought a used 99 Corolla for commuting. Reliable, but boring, uncomfortable seating for a 6 footer, and no respect from other drivers. I looked at the new Corolla S, nice, but I still had to put the driver's seat all the way back to gain sufficient leg room, and still felt a little cramped width wise. I also checked out the XRs Matrix, strange car. I then test drove the VW Jetta 1.8T GLS. Well equipped, fun to drive, but reliability questionable based on reviews here and elsewhere. I then drove the RSX base 5 spd. The fit and finish was impressive, and the standard equipment comprehensive. FTD factor was also very high, yet the base RSX can be very relaxed and sedate if you want to drive it that way. Get the RSX on a smooth curvy road however, and its almost irresistable not to let it run. The two door hatchback design makes this a comfortable car for two, with plenty of room for gear when the rear seats are folded down. The rear seats are useable, but are not comfortable for extended trips. On the highway the RSX can be a little noisy, and cruises at fairly high rpms. Punching the gas will launch the RSX quickly from 60 to 90+ mph, so there is no lack of willingness, its just that there are more relaxed touring cars than the RSX. The RSX feels very much at home on secondary higher speed highways, and is a blast to drive on tight curvy back roads.

Speed, this car takes off like a rocket and handles like a girl with pony tails or a like its a train on rails. The bose system sounds good, good highs and the bass is decent for stock. auto climate control and leather seats with a sun roof, this car cant be beat. After market on this car is huge and not to worry about dumping money into a car that wont last because this is an Acura folks.

Weakness:

going 120 in the devider between the hatch and the trunk sort of makes a noise. besides that this car has it all.

I got a great deal on this car, loaded with 18 miles. I have never been in a car so responsive and power hungy. the car looks sharp and the interior is made with quality parts and material. The resale, dependibility and quality of this car make it one of the best in the price range by far.

Strength:

Speedy car, nice interior. Smooth ride.

Weakness:

Pretty small car, Finish is very fragile- so scatches and dent are easy to get. They don't put a safety on the doors. I hate the blind spot.

Not a bad car for the money. Although the Intregra was more comfortable. The seats and lack of arm rest are a problem. I'm Ok with the car, and I guess for the money it is a good vechicle. I've never been asked to race- because to me it seems more like a BMW than a racing car.

Looks Interior is spacious Leather seating and wrapped steering wheel looks great Gauge cluster looks sporty Easily seats me and three equal sized friends, I'm 6'5, 250.

Weakness:

I'm not wild about the interior gauge lights being red but it's okay. Blind spot created by hatch, but this is the case in every hatchback Don't like the sunroof that slides on top of the car when opened. Nipple antenna gets weak reception

This is far and away the best car I have ever owned. The RSX combines great pricing, the luxury of the Acura name, size and speed into one great package. This is the first car I have ever owned that will turn heads. In the little over two months I've owned it, I can remember at least a dozen times where people turn to look, it's a fancy looking car. I went with the Desert Silver color and I don't regret it at all, it's different from most other things you see on the road. Everyone will try to race you in this car, I can't tell you how many times I've had teenagers pull up in their Civic's with huge mufflers and try to race. It's laughable because I know I could toast them. The 4cyl VTEC engine can fly if you need it to.

Why lord why?? why do People after getting fired from work and finding out that their wives are cheating on them come here to talk trash about Imports?? If you are that depressed then go to a bar have a couple of buds and enjoy your redneck life. If the american market has nothing to compete with imports, why are they producing 4 cyl turbo charged cars?.... Because that is the only way they can compete!! i understand your frustration i would be too if i were driving an american car. As a matter of fact i did and i totally hated it.... Feel so sorry for you!

Strength:

Handling is numero uno, The engine isnt a torque monster, but theres nothing like feeling ok at 7800 rms.GOBS of aftermarket products, both rice and underhood. and easy to work on, simple and powerful 4cylinder engine.

Weakness:

The rear view kind of bites it, but if you can take a deep breath and plunge into trusting your mirrors you'll find they provide all the rear vision you need to safely reverse. No low end torque, so it has to be actively driven to be driven fast, which is kind of the point.

If you're on the fence about buying this car, buy it. As a commuter car its comfortable, even for large people, Im 6'1" and 205 and Im fine. For "spirited driving" around your favorite corners it out handles anything within $15,000 of its price. And for those of you who want to race at stoplights, as long as you're not racing a cobra youre going to be able to compete. I was looking for the WRX as well, its not as refined, and while its faster, it has a stock turbo and costs about 2500 more than the RSX. So I did some research and found out that turbo kits for the RSX are running, coincidentally about 2500 bucks. And, as my friend put it, unless you live on a gravel road on a mountain top with 80mph speed limits why the hell would you buy such an ugly car just to get awd? And besides, the bottom end of the K series engine(RSX) is blueprinted so well it can withstand enough boost (Under 11 pounds) to make it outperform the WRX by a healthy amount. Incidentally you get leather, automatic climate control, something a girl would want to ride in etc. with the RSX. (type s version anyway) Besides all that, its just fun as all hell to drive. While its not a tractor pull like a domestic eight cylinder, thats the draw of the car, very very mellow if you keep the rpms down, but if you let them slide past 3000 your throttle gets responsive in a hurry.

quick, good shifter and clutch feel Awesome interior, good features(well equipped)superb handling(at faster speeds)

Weakness:

high rpm's for real power(however engine is built to be pushed)Very poor hindvision(may the force be with you on this) Bumpy on bad roads, steering is tight when at low speeds(too rigid)

I believe it to be the best car in its class by far.I had an older Integra before, it would never die(so much endurance)It's truely the most fun car I've ever driven(closest feel to a real sports car in this price range) Honda are profound in long term value.

Great Acceleration Amazing Transmission Interior fit and finish is great handling vtec acura quality tires comfort looks

Weakness:

Stereo is not bad, but could be a but more powerful. But it does have a good overall sound. Rear Visibilty is poor. If you are not a confident driver, this could be a problem. You cannot turn around to change lanes. You have to use mirrors. I have fixed this problem my installing a blind spot mirror

the Rsx Base with the 5 speed manual provides excellent power. For Anyone that is looking for a sporty car that is fun to drive, I would say go for an Rsx. The Transmission Shifts smoothly, and the clutch is amazing. Acceleration is very good. It keeps me happy while driving aorund the city. I have owned cars much faster, however, the rsx provides an all around package that is superb. I have tested with a friend of mine, and It will run a 0-60 in about 7 seconds on a very good run. That is completley stock with a K and N Airfilter. The Dash lay out is nice, and gives you a very sporty feel.
