Model Reviewed: 2.2L Coupe

Strength:

-Gas pedal response is impressive in all situations
-Interior and dash has a nice design, lots of cup holders!
-Front seats are very comfortable and the rear seats are pretty good too
-Back seat folds down which creates a lot of storage space for long things (Adult sized bicycle doesn't fit. I tried that, almost but nope.)
-Trunk space is compairable to many larger sedans
-My Cavalier has been very reliable, all I have to do is general maintenence (take car of you car and your car will take care of you)

Weakness:

I hoestly don't think this car has any weaknesses.

I bought this car new and it's a wonderful car. The handling is very predictable, the engine is powerful when you push the gas and it's very possible to pull away from the crowd at the green light when you're in front. If fact, the gas pedal is very responsive and consistant at all speeds. Even at 70 mph when you push the pedal a little your speed will go up a little. I've had cars that don't do anything at 70 mph until you just about floor it (in which the engine then revs up to the red line and launches forward up to 80 mph, very annoying). The lack of road noise at high speeds is very impressive, you don't hear the wind and you can barely hear the engine, especially with the stereo on. The ride is very smooth at all speeds unless hitting bumps that the shocks don't handle very well. The car looks impressive considering it's low price, the coupe looks very sporty. The engine doesn't do justice to the fast look of the car, but the Z24 is a little faster. On the roads sports car performance is pretty pointless with the only exception being passing power. This car can do it though, like I said before when you give the engine gas it launches. When the A/C is on you can feel the loss of power but the engine still performs solidly at highway speeds, the only thing you lose is acceleration. If you want a fast little car with good handling, good looks and a low price tag then this car is for you. My next car will be a new Cavalier or whatever the equivelent is. But first I plan on driving this car for a long long time, it's the perfect car for me.

Similar Products Used:

1999 Ford Taurus: Same functionability as Cavalier but at a higher price, and the Fix-Or-Repair-Daily car was in the shop a lot.
2000 Chevy Impala: Nice car but unless you really need the extra space the Cavalier will do fine.
2000 Ford Focus: Friend had too many problems with this car and sold it for a 2000 Cavalier. He's much happier.
2000 Kia Sephia: Friend's car, too small for me and the brakes are having problems that dealer isn't fixing.
