power, size, quality..... this car has plenty of power available to use, i dont need anymore than what it offers. With on average a 32 miles to gallon for gas ratings it is great for this V6 workhorse. I live 25 miles away from my current job location and I dont buy gas more than once per week.
Weakness:
a very common car, accessories are tough to find..... upgrades for a car like this are hard to come by. As common as this car is its tough to do things to it, such as ground effects, wings, and exaust upgrades Im a tall guy, standing at 6' 4" tall and this car fits me perfectly. The size is perfect and I love it. The car seems to have lots of power with a 160hp engine it really isnt bad. I have absolutly no problems with this vehicle as of this far. I am 20 years old and my aunt also owns a Lumina which is a 95 model and she has yet to have any major breakdowns after 6 years of use. Similar Products Used: 95 Lumina, very similar car almost identical but works the same, the 97 has a little different interior build. |

LUMINA 4DR
Strength:
This car has great pick up, especially after its hooked up a tad. The engine doesn't give that traditional honda sound, has the sound of a 5.0 mustang or Camaro. After putting a Flowmaster on this bad boy, its turning heads like crazy. The intake and exhaust also give me confidence in driving this car around which I only see old people driving. When people ask me what car i drive and i tell them, they kinda make a face as like ..oh..okay..then when they hear and see it I get complimented. There is room for up to 6 in this car too which almost no cars have anymore. The trunk is also huge, probably fit almost any kinda box you want back there.
Weakness:
Brakes, no cup holders, and id rather have the atomatic shifter between the passenger and driver rather then behind the wheel, like the euro or z-34. My mom bought this car in 92 when it came out. Turned out to be passed to me. I put a flwomaster exhaust on it and an OBX intake on it. This car sounds like a monster now, especially when it downshifts after being floored at 28 mph. All I need is a pair of rims and this car will be done. I wish it was the Z-34 but it still rips alotta rice burners off the line. I once raced a souped up Integra, I knew i wouldn't win but i was on this guys ass the whole race, it actually impressed me to see that I was on this guy the whole time. He definetly heard the roar of my v6 behind him. I also painted the inside panels white with red air condition ducts. Gives it a way more sportier look then the ugly wood trim. Last but not least i'd like to say, if I get NOS, im gonna be taking Z-28's! Similar Products Used: I usually pull away to most vehicals my size off the line so i guess that sez it all. |

Strength:
This car has a lot of speed to it. There is a lot of trunk space in this car. There is plenty of room for everybody. Great for long trips. AC kicks on really fast.
Weakness:
The brakes arent that great. After awhile you get use to them but you need to get them cleaned often. Not enough warning before something dies out. AC can get really loud at times. Seats become uncomfortable after about twenty minutes of riding this car. Doesn't run as fast if the AC is on. The car is very good when it works great. A month after I purchased the car it broke down. Then a month later the car broke down again. This my be because of the owner that owned the car before me. Similar Products Used: None |

Lumina 3.1 V-6
Strength:
Awsome ride. Great handleing. Great acceleration. Very comfortable, and a very roomy back seat. I'm 6'3 and I love letting my friends drive and just chilling in the back. And also people get out of my way because it looks like the local sheriffs patrol vehicles.
Weakness:
The brakes. The limited cup holders, (placement of cup holder by stereo. I spilled soda into it and it shorted out most of the back lights. My warrenty didn't cover it. And why don't the rear windows roll all the way down if I wan't them to. I don't have any kids. I've always drove GM vehicles because I've always been very satisfied with them. The Chevy Lumina didn't dissapoint me. I bought the car used in Nov.'97 with 58,000 miles on it. It now has over 175,000 on it. I haven't had any problems with it. The water pump was replaced at the 140,000 mile mark and it's gone through 1 battery and 2 altenatiors, but that's because I got a pile of electronics in it. The thing is a damn tank too. When I lived up north I could go through snow that 4x4's got stuck in. I took out a Honda Civic and all I got where a few scratches and a small dent above the front right wheel. I never got it replaced, it's still damaged and working fine. And don't get me going at how many times I've been rerended going through all those damn toll boths around the Chicago area. At leat a dozen and all I got is a scuffed up rear bumper with a crack in it. And the crack came the last time when I got hit by a US Marshal going home from testifying in court. The car is awsome and it committed me to Chevy for life, or at least until I get a bad product. I plan to trade it for the new Impala soon. I here the Impala is getting good reviews. Similar Products Used: I had a '84 Buick Skyhawk,(one mean car. It never let me down) '89 Chevy Celeberty (also good), 88 Buick Centry (Lemon) With the exception of the Centry All GM, (my grandparents only drove GM cars as I was a kid) all good, but the Lumina has been the best. |
