Strength:

I can't say what's good about the car, nothing but gas mileage!!!

Weakness:

The parts for this car are no good!!!

The WORST car I've owned!!! I Would never buy another Chrysler again!!! They need to go back to the drawing board with this car, and they got the nerve to charge an arm and leg for parts that don't last!!!!

Strength:

Looks, comfort, extras

Weakness:

I've heard that the water pump on these cars needs replacing after about 50K.

So far, love it. It's a delight to drive, and since we live in Florida, we can drive with the top down most of the time, even in December.

I have the Limited, and it has a lot of nice features--the computer that gives you gas mileage, temp, miles left in the tank, etc. Plus a nice sound system.

The top goes up and down with ease. And I've finally gotten the hang of getting the boot cover on quickly.

good looking car fun to drive with the top down when not in the shop beeing fixed.

Weakness:

lack of relaiabilaty constant machanical problems.

I wanted to buy a convertible for a while, an finaly found the sebring, I liked the way it looked, nice looking car, but I was very sceptical about buying it becouse I had 2 other chrysler vehicles in the past and nothing but problems with them constant machanical problems, I said to myself maybe I get lucky on this one, everything is working fine car rides nice so I bought it, boy was I wrong I just bought another lemmon. two weeks after purchase ball joint snaped off I could have been killed but after a week off caling chrysler headquarters they coverd the repair bill almost $4000.00 since then I had to replace the transmition al kinds of electricale problems horn, crouse control, electric window controls, electic trunk opener, fuel gage sending unit. I am afraid to take this car out on the street becouse somthing else might brake. I try to take good care of my cars, regular servce chage oil every 3000 miles, but this car seames like it is posesed. Chrysler no no no never ever again.

Strength:

The engine in the coupe will move I will tell you the speedodometer goes to 150mph and the car will do every bit of it. The car is stylish and all around the best car I have owned.

Weakness:

None to really complain about. The sideview mirrors are a little small.

This is a great car I have had nothing go wrong with it. All I have done is the regular maintaince. Changed Timing belts, water pump, and all belts at 75,000 miles do oil changes every 3000 miles. I have put over 50,000 miles on this car and only changed the pads and rotors ONCE. So I don't know what all the fuss is about the brakes. I see most of the problems with the Sebrings are with the conv. and sedan models. The coupe models are assembled by Mitsubishi and have a Mitsubishi powertrain. It also has the same instrument cluster and dash as an Eclipse. The tires are a little expensive because they are high peformace low profile tires. The goodyear Tires that came OEM on this car are crap I replaced them with Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S but they were not cheap $245.00 each, but well worth the cash.

Everything about it! Too much to name

I saw this car on the showroom floor, and just knew i had fallen in love! The car was so new that there had only been 2 other Sebrings sold in our area, and actually didnt even have a sebring on the lot, only the one in the show room floor, but i had to have it, so i bought that one! Biggest mistake ever! I wanted to cry the day i brought it home! I drove the car off the show-room floor and before we got it home, the damn transmission went out. The Horn had two different horn tones (weird i know) If you pressed both buttons on the steering wheel, they were two different tones which together sounded like a freight train! The alarm went off one day and my husband had to disconnect the battery to get the thing to turn off! We kept hearing a rattling noise and the fan fell from the bottom of the car that night! The brakes were a mess, and kept taking it back to Chrysler to get it fixed, and got the run-around. I was adding brake fluid to the car everytime i drove it! So many things happend to it that i cant even remember them all! I know that one time i was driving and everytime i stopped, and tyried to take off, it would cut off between me taking my foot off the brake and onto the accelerator. Sometimes it would not start,i finally just gave up on it and got rid of it 2 years of owning it. Horrible car, never again will i buy a chrysler

CRAP!Look out folks!! After 100,000.KM.
the 2.7 litre engine will die on you and could leave you stranded anywhere. The oil ports are too small which cover over with sludge and overheat.Eventually the timing chain will break and destroy you engine leaving you with a $9000.00 to $11,000.00 bill to enjoy. The manufacture will not tell you about these problems.

Strength:

Decent gas mileage 27-32mpg
Sleek look
Lots of torque

Weakness:

There is a design flaw on the rear strut mounts. They are kind of shaped like a bowl and water can get trapped up there if your sunroof drains aren't properly draining. Water just sits on top of the strut mount, rusting it away. I was just driving down the road and heard a big pop when my strut mount popped out. Yeah, that stinks. I had a terrible time trying to order replacements, the mount should be circular not rectangular. Luckily my father in law is McGuiver and cut it down to make it fit. LOL!
Tires are expensive.. 17" low profile

My car has nearly 175,000 miles on it, and the work I've done on it was to correct bad driving habits of the previous owner. I got it just over a year ago, and did some pretty heavy work to the car immediately after purchase. Replaced rotors and brakes firstly, changed all seals on the oil and transmission to stop leaks. Found out the struts were original parts. Geesh! 9 years old?!
All that aside, I love the car. It's sexy, has a good stereo system built in. I like the wrap around feel of dash when sitting in the driver's seat.

Strength:

looks, acceleration, drives smooth, precise steering.

Weakness:

brakes, rotors, seatbelt design for front seats, spoiler, panels (fixed free from recall) paint, rearview mirror, wiring.

when i first bought the car like always i loved it. the brakes and rotors have gone bad at 35,000 miles. the windows are shaky when they get even the slightest of dust on them. the tires are very expensive. the rims and tires are thin (i think thats why i have had about 4 flats in the 5 months i have had it). the gas mileage is terrible. the seats are not comfortable. the rearview mirror (the one with the compass and automatic dimming) shorted out and melted and dripped hot plastic on the wood grain, which caused melted spots on the wood grain too. the seat belts tangle up all the time (i think they corrected this problem on the newer models) the rear spoiler came of completely while i was driving down the highway. the door panels came off too, but there was a factory recall on the panels, so it didnt' cost me anything to fix that. The doos are squeak. the car still has less than 40,000 miles on it not bad for a 1998 car. i would never buy another one again. it is a very pretty car, it accelerates very fast.

Model Reviewed: Chrysler Sebring LXi Convertable

Strength:

Style - crimson outside, black inside. It just looks good. As a guy, I'm comfortable driving it since it's too big for someone to say "oh what a cute chick car" (like the Del Sol I had to get rid of because of the laughter I received).

Power - Good off-the-line power for those who do look at you sideways. Kept up with a corvette for pretty good distance until the mid-range power turned to high end cruise.

Suspension - excellent ride especially on mid to top level tires.

Weakness:

Electrical system - had one short circuit traced and repaired. Turned out to be under the center console. Seat belts locked up for awile until replacing the centrifugal force switch that activates the seat belts (also under the center console.. hmmm). Blower fan resistor has blown out twice which only allows high AC (or heat). Not hard to replace, just a pain in the neck to have to KEEP replacing it. We are in the process of DIY replacement of the water pump... I don't recommend this for the faint of heart. Had to remove the bumper cover, ps pump/bracket (biggest headache!), timing belt, motor mount and various other parts just to get to the water pump. Oh well, good time for a minor overhaul. If you are a hard driver, beware of broken front motor mounts. Will lead to engine torque.

This car has been a champ! I purchased it with 19,000 mi; has nearly 165,000 in 5 years. Found out it was a previous rental which means it was probably seriously abused in its former life and I continued to abuse it through extended (rare) oil changes, hard driving, etc. We have had very few minor problems that were easily fixed.

Though about buying a new one but I don't like the smaller feel of the newer models. <2000 models feel more like a full-size car - 2001+ models are definately mid-size.
