Strength:

Power, looks, luxury

Weakness:

Power windows can get shaky when dirty

I purchased a 2003 Sebring Convertible LXi in May and I love it! I knew having a convertible in California in the summer would be fun, and it is sure is! But what really surprised me was how luxurious my car is. The drive is so smooth, the engine is so quiet, and I have as much power as I'd ever need. The leather interior is super nice and very comfortable. I really like the '03 model compared to the 04 model because of the "roadster" looking front grill and cooler-looking rims. This car rocks!

nice styling

Weakness:

Chrysler original equipment brake rotors and pads lasted only 32,000 miles. Replacements have lasted 50,000 miles

Brake rotors warped at 32,000 miles caused steering whell to vibrate. Chrysler refused to help saying we braked too often. Driving habits are expressway with little braking. Design was defective. Replaced rotors and pads that have lasted 50,000 miles.

By owning this car I have learned to do more research before buying my next. I hope by writing this review it will help someone make a better decision than I did.

Weakness:

Brakes, Leakage, Extreme rattles, horrible gas milage and there is too many other things to list.

I really don't like this car and can't wait to get out of it. It has been nothing but problems since day one. I spend more time on the side of the road than on it. The convertible leaks and drips on my leg. The passenger seat rattles. I feel like I am in a clown car, it makes so many noises that I have to turn on the radio (LOUD) to get through a commute. The radiator blew this past summer and I walked a mile and a half for help. I was hoping someone would steal it! At this point I'm really embarassed to own one. I think it's comporable to the Edsel.

Car looks cool

Weakness:

everything and then some...mostly dealer

My wife bought this car in Dec. 02 with about 10,000 miles on it...at 12,000 it needed complete brake job including rotors pads and caliper rebuild...dealer told her she used brakes to hard..yeah right.. so they would not cover on warranty...after some pretty heavy arguing in front of other customers they finally agreed to pay for half of rotors..gee what a deal..now with a little over 30,000 mile she was on freeway when engine (2.7) started to knock..pulled right over and called AAA for tow to dealer...now at dealer they inspect engine and say it was her fault engine blew because she didn't chande her oil enough..what a laugh. I have had no less than 10 cars in last 12 years and change oil on every one at 3000 to 3500 miles with all reciepts. The owners manual indicates change between 7000 and 7500 miles..since this has happened i find many reviews stating that other owners are having same problem and chrysler will not cover even though they know the engine is junk..I even found a review froma franchise owner (Joe Peabody) that said a Chrysler corporate tech told his service dept not to honor any of these problems under warranty...they can not afford to fix all the bad componets..so blame it on the customer..He is trying to get out of his francise agreement with Chrysler...even he couldn't take their lying to customers.

Strength:

It looks great and is comfortable to drive.

Weakness:

See my review. Must be poorly made.... everything breaks!! One thing after another. I can't afford to own this car. I got into a new car so I would't have to pay repair bills but now I have to pay the monthly payment and repairs. Actually, it started before.

This car has been in the shop at least once every 3 months since I bought it. What a hassle! It's always something different. From broken CD player, AC blower, visor clips, power window motor, wheel barings, to needing a new door gasket. But at least that was covered under the warranty. But not covered was brakes and roaters at 25,000 miles, to major alignment problems that required new tires at 35,000 miles. Now the warranty has just expired and still having ongoing misc. problems. It's insane!!! I just want out from under this car!!! I'd never buy another Chrysler product again!!!

Convertible top is coming apart.

Love driving this car...however reading one note about creaks...yes this car does have creaks. However, I have had problems with the top. The seams are coming undone. Had 3 companies look at this and was advised this is a "defect" but cannot get help from Chrysler on this.

Strength:

Awesome looking...I get at least a comment a week on how great looking my car is.

Weakness:

This car shifts terrible. Trunk space is somewhat limited (I travel often). An array of problems that only happen occassionally (but never at the dealership!)

I have loved Sebring Convertible since the minute I laid eyes on one. I was finally able to buy one, and what a mistake! This car is literally a piece of junk. However, the dealership has been very helpful and nice about making repairs. Newest challenge is the car feels like it is going to stall when I make right hand turns (only right hand turns!). Now, it doesn't do it all the time so the dealership is having trouble diagnosing the problem (though I think they may have fixed it this time). This car has literally been taken back to the dealership for service no less than 10 times and I just bought it in May. I love the look of this car but will never ever buy another Chrysler for as as long as I drive.

Strength:

Power, comfort, look, safety, no blind spots (sick of cars like the Monte Carlo with major blind spots), gas mileage, informative owner's manual, loving all of the bells and whistles, love the sporty feel sitiing behind the wheel (feel like a supermom).

Weakness:

Creaks, chrysler makes cars that creak.

Love the sleek body style and the lines on the car. Silver with dark grey interior. Tons of compliments. Car will get up and go quick also. I am used to manual trans and the auto trans is taking some getting used to, but mostly it is a real sweet ride. Drove it to Texas after first week (1600 miles in 5 days), loved every mile. However, there is this creaking noise in the front driver side. Sounds like the frame is going to give (to me) took it to the dealership and they treated me like I was insane and hearing things. Worked for Dodge for about a year and know I am not. Just curious if anyone else is having this problem. That is my only complaint, I work for Honda and am thinking about going back to them. Had an 87 Honda Civic (197K miles) for 8 years and traded it in on this one (it was still driving like a dream when I traded) hope this Sebring doesn't let me down before I can trade it in at 18 months! Hopefully on a big Dodge truck this time around! One thing I will add on the warranty aspect of the Chrysler is this, if you have your car serviced at the dealership (which is worth it), when the car is out of warranty, Chrysler is fair and will work with you on any repairs that deal with the powertrain and possibly other costly repairs. I will admit, owning a car is a costly thing but when you go in and have $800 plus in repairs (other than "recommended maintenance") and the service manager looks at your history and sees you were an "aware of maintenance" customer, and pays half of the bill, that is appreciated on my part and will keep me not only coming back for service, but for purchasing new Chryslers in the future also. Not to meantion Chrysler keeps customers aware of ANY service buletins and product updates. That is a plus for the customer.
