Strength:

Acceleration/braking

Weakness:

Extensive driving experience needed to keep from killing yourself.

With beefed up front and rear shock absorbers this car will outperform BMW 7 series 8 and 12 cyl. in high speed handling. Coil-over overload shocks in front/air shocks combined with stock air-bag rear suspension results in awsome handling characteristics. It is difficult to install gabriel hi-jackers to the stock air bag set-up, but well worth the hassle. Be sure to keep height limits within spec--so the airbags don't deflate while driving.

Comfort, over all and excellent car. He's had no problems with it.

Weakness:

He has replaced 2 of the window motors.

I don't own the car, my son does. We have made several trips to Maryland. This has to be the most comfortable car I have ever rode in. It floats.Theres plenty or room for your legs.

Strength:

Big car ride and comfort with 25 MPG on the highway.

Weakness:

Lack of support from Ford Motor Company

I bought this car new for my wife. We love the ride and comfort and feeling of safety. We have not had any problems until recently. The intake manifold ruptured, stranding us on the highway. We were told by a mechanic that Ford knows they have a problem with these plastic manifolds. The new manifold was made of metal. If you have one or are considering buying one beware of this serious and very expensive problem.

Low maintenance, excellent performance, $5,000 less than a Toyota Avalon. You can buy an air filter for $5 at Walmart. Built on frame construction, very low to insure, great climate control, gets much better mileage than a mini-van, plenty of torque, no expensive timing belt to change, runs great on regular unleaded, no spark plug wires or distributor to replace!

Weakness:

The fuel milage on our 1993 model was 10% better. However, the horse power is now 215 (dual exhuast package)instead of 190, but I was satisfied with the 190 Horse power.

The car drives smooth and quiet. We have put 95,000 miles on it so far. We also owned a 1993 model that my brother-in-law now owns that has more than 250,000 miles on it. I would definitely recommend it over the competition.

Don't be fooled by the Toyota Avalon. Things have changed. The new Toyota's run great for the first couple of years, but will cost a fortune in maintenance to keep over the long haul.

fast, reliable, badass, the only car for me. Ive never been pulled over in a Vic

Weakness:

some little anoyances. tightly packed engine compartment

This car is amazing. It combines the durability of an SUV the speed of a sports car and the interior room of a battle ship. This car has the heavy duty tranny, shocks, engine, hoses. What other sedan has a skidplate? Ive done some corners with this car that probably go against the laws of physics. By the way this is my 2nd vic. My first was a 92' regular vic. The difference between a police package and regular vic is like night and day. My car currently has 92K miles. NOW...THE BAD STUFF: Intake manifold cracked, however there is a recall on that item so ford fixed it for free. My right Catalytic conv. is on its last leg, its making some horrible noise that is more of an annoyance than a problem. the passanger power window sometimes gets stuck when fully lowered

Size, power, speed, looks like a cop car, handling, comfort, engin, tranny.

Weakness:

Sometimes the speedometer doesn't work, but who cares, chances are I'm speeding anyway.

I love my car!! I bought it over a year ago with 200,000 miles. So far I've had the mufflers, u-joints, and rear end seals replaced. I consider that to be very good considering I drive it a lot harder than anyone should ever drive any car. I mean I really drive this thing into the ground but it still works great. It has the original engine and transmission. No rust at all. The only body problem is some paint chips on the rear bumper but that's an easy fix. It now has 242,000 miles and it's going strong. I'm gunna keep it until it blows up and then get another one.

Strength:

Plenty of power. Roomy. Great Handling for a big car. People get out of your way at night on the highway!!

Weakness:

Big making it hard to park sometimes.

IMO the Crown Victoria is one of the best cars for the money. I have almost 180K on her, and just now she is showing signs of old age. The air flow sensor, alternator, exaust. A lot of little things that are not worth getting fixed. I am on my second tranny, but that's my fault, doing burn outs around every corner is not very good for the car. All in all I have been very happy with this car. I have gotten almost 10 years of service out of her. How a car runs is dependent on how it is taken car of. I followed the owners guide to a T. change the oil every 3K. When I hit 100K I started to change the tranny fluid once a year. The little things make a world of difference.

Transmission

I bought a Crown Vic because my son has been buying and selling them for a long time and swears by them. This one was a couple of years older than I wanted but with only 73,400 miles on it, previously owned by that infamous *little old lady*, I bought it. Two days after I bought it the charge light came on, I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the alternator and battery, but there was still something wrong with the car. At about 2 months into my ownership, the transmission went. I spent more money than I really wanted to on it, both trying to find out what was wrong with and repairing it. I''ve also replaced the alternator and battery but I''ve now had it about 18 months and dearly love it. I''ve had a number of accessories go out on me including both front windows, the odometer, I think the wiper motor is going out and I can''t buy a cup holder that fits it either but as I''ve told my son, I can still outrun most other cars on the road. I''ve also got that silver paper that passes for chrome trim down the sides of the car peeling off but I suppose at over 10 years old stuff is going to quit working. But for comfort and power you can''t beat this car! I''m still amazed that I''m doing 70 before I even realize it on the freeway, and the ride and handling at high speeds is great. I''m torn between wanting to buy a newer one with less mileage or just fixing that little stuff and driving mine for another hundred thousand miles. For now, I think I''ll just keep mine.

ALYCE PERMENTER

I bought my Crown Victoria from a golfball salesman with 52,000 miles on it in 1994. He was a stickler for adhering to the maintenance schedule and keeping the car looking good. I have done okay especially with the oil changes. Now, eight years and 130,000 miles later, I am selling the car (it''s still running like a Singer sewing machine but using some oil)and buying another used Crown Victoria with 44,000 miles on it. I love the ride. I love the room. I love the dependability. I love the safe feeling. It weathered being hit from behind while sitting still by another car traveling at about 50 miles per hour. The other car, a compact, was destroyed. My car survived well. So did my hemophiliac son, who was in the car with me at the time. I will probably always drive Crown Victorias as long as they are available. I like the looks of the car, too.
