Great sound system Handles very well Gets up to speed quick Plenty of room Great Gas Milage Quickly heats up when cold out.
Weakness:
Road noise when the radio is off I love my Focus!! It is the most reliable car I've ever driven. It's fun to drive, and I don't have a problem with the room in the back seat none of my buddies have either, they actually tell me they have plenty of leg room back there. The sound system is great even better after I stuck an amp and a 10 in the trunk. Speaking of the trunk...lots of space for packing for weekend trips. I've taken it for two road trips since I got it in Aug of 01 at least 800 miles each trip each way. I love it. Similar Products Used: I've never driven a car in this nice of a class. |

Pumping Stereo Good on gas Set up of dashboard
Weakness:
Brake noises, Engine noise at 70mph, Back seat leg room This was my first new car. I haven't had any mechanical problems with this vehicle except for yesterday the car stalled out and then would not start. After reading the reviews I am concerned about the ignition. I have about 36K miles on the car so the warranty is just about done. My plan is to trade this one in for another in about 4 months. So yes, I do love the car and as you can see I will get another. handling, handling, handling, fuel, accelleration. Best car I've ever driven
Weakness:
I'd like to see a dome light in the middle of the car, this was the only thing that struck me as stupid engineering. I literally have no clue what you guys are talkiing about. I've got 49,000 miles built up on my ride, with NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. I have never had to replace any of the items that previous people have said and I think most of the problems result from poor driving habits. I have no problems off the line in accelleration, and can blow every car in it's class off the line and in passing. The handling of the car is superb compared to most of the other vehicles in it's class. Especially every Saturn, (sounded like the engine what so going to explode). I am currently changing my brakes for the first time on the car at 49,000. I changed the tires for the first time thousand miles before that. Sorry to hear your problems, but my Focus has been superb. For the person how said the lights were aimed weird, well, duh...you can fix that by yourself, with a few turns of a screw, as it's not standard practice for them to be right on. You need to do that yourself. Similar Products Used: saturn SL1, honda civic, corrolla |

The ride, handling and sound brakes. THe car receives very good mileage I have read with interest about the lousy reviews that the 2000 Ford Focus has been receiving. I wonder how much of the reviewer's driving habits should be taken into account as well as the lack of reseach many of the reviewers did not do prior to purchasing the vehicle. To say that the car is too small or that the seats are not comfortable makes me wonder that many of you should have "tested" the vehicle out prior to purchasing it. It is not the car's fault but your choice and lack of responsibility that is at fault. I happen to love the car, its ride and handling. The car fits my lifestyle perfectly and I took that into account when I made my purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend this car to anyone (who at least knows what they want, prior to the purchase and has thoroughly assessed their needs and taken their lifestyle into account. Still looking for them.
Weakness:
The Focus was to replace the Escort. I had 150,000 miles on my Escort with no real problems. The Focus has had more problems in 45,000 miles. They must have reengineered the car with new hires. The car color is black but it should have been yellow. Has spent most of it first two years in the dealership getting things fixed. A steering rack, fuel pump, waterpump, ignition lock, battery, tires and oil pan gasket. The strut sleeves now have separated from the coil springs and Ford doesn't want to cover that saying it is a wear item. They can't wear now as they are no where near where the belong. Weakness:
The transmission and the ignition. Well I got the nice riding, stylish Ford Focus Because the durn thing is great on gas. But little did I know that the transmission would bite the dust. But Not only that, get this, before the transmission retired I had to fix the ignition 4 TIMES...I REPEAT 4 TIMES because the Key kept getting stuck. The whole thing just locked up. RECALL THE DAMN CAR!!!!!!! Similar Products Used: This is my first and last focus but I have had an Taurus and an older model F-150. Both ran fine but the F-150's trans. gave out also. |

Strength:
Car looks great, handles well, good on gas
Weakness:
The car has Weak Highbeams, the beams are shooting down the road, and are not that bright, and the area in front of the car remains very dark, there is very little leg room for the passengers sitting in the back seat, also the dome light does not illuminate the back seets, its a nuisance at night trying to find things that may be in the back seat, or buckling a child into car seat. Bought this car 3 months ago, nice car but there are a few disappointments. Its is the 4 door SE Sport Model....loaded except for leather seats. Similar Products Used: Traded a 2000 Neon in on the focus, I liked mostly everything about the Neon, but Fords have always been my favorite.... so I will try to hank in !! |

- Excellent handling - Spacious interior - Good gas millage - Very smooth automatic transmission - Good dealership
Weakness:
- POOR RELIABILITY - Noticeable wind and road noice - Tepid engine (Zetec 2.0, 130 HP) A comfortable compact car with sleek design and spacious interior. Reliablity becomes a real issue after the 2nd year of ownership. Two major repairments during the first 3 month of the 3rd year: The front power steering device was leaking and gas pump was blocked causing my car to stall suddenly in an intersection. It would have cost me over $1300, had the warranty expired. I initially planned to upgrade my vehicle to Ford Escape, but was deterred by this experience with Ford products. Now, I am looking at Nissan Pathfind for its excellent reputation on reliability. Obviously, reliability becomes an issue which needs to be dealt with seriously. Otherwise, Ford is goint to lose more customers. Similar Products Used: - Toyata Corolla (1985) - Cheverett Nova (1987) |
