Strength:

Runs great, has good milage, fun to drive, GREAT LITTLE CAR

Weakness:

NONE

This was my first new car, I drive an average of 1500 to 2000 miles a month, and enjoy driving it as much now as I did the day I brought it home. So far I have had now problems of any time with it, no leaks or squeaks. I will buy a new Focus again next year, hopefully my next one will be as good as this one has been.

Looks nice, big wheel wide tires. Desent Room inside, good stopping power.

Weakness:

Brake dust and squeaks from the start, brake rotors warped, replaced. Trunk inside lack broke first week. trunk hard to open and close. Check engine light came and engine started running badly at low RPM. Wipers are junk. Inside cloth fabric is a lint magnet. Squeaks from the dask, and glove box. cup holders are a joke. Why a big radio? So we cannot replace the junkie thing with a standard DIN one?? I could so on and on, DOn''t buy this piece of junk on looks, unless your Dad ownes a Ford Dealorship!

At most folks have said , I bought the car becuase it looked nice, and drove well. But after 14 months and only 8800 miles its going to hell in a hand basket fast!

Price ( you get what you pay for , a little more money spent would get a much better car. style ( Style won''t keep you on the road )

Weakness:

Front to back and side to side the use inferior materials and poor quality control.

I always own Ford''s but after the Focus never again. 2 different Ford dealers have been unable to take care of all the problems with my car .Both dealers are Blue Oval Certifed , what a joke , hate to see what a non Blue Oval Certifed dealer would screw up when trying to do the many recalls and repair issues with this car.I hate seeing the new Ford TV ad''s with new Chairman and Chief executive officer . He owes all the un happy Focus owner''s a public apology and a program to compensate us for what is there problem.

engine, never had a problem with the car mechanically.

Weakness:

leaking windshield brakes sweeked

My 2000 focus leaked water on the passanger side everytime it rained. It must be a manufacturer defect as I have had other complain about it. I had it to the dealer 4 times and the last time they told me it was the heater core. The last time I had 3 inches of water in the car under the carpet and this was after a heavy rain. I don''t know if it was the heater core or if the dealer couldn''t fix the leak in the windshield. I finally traded for a 2002 model focus

Stereo is decent with the C/D player, but anyone can get one for $200.

Weakness:

Engine Hesitation Bad MPG A/C doesn''t work properly

I am not sure what to think about it at this point. The engine has hesitation problems when idiling and now the A/C does not work at all. I plan on having the A/C problem taken care of, but a car this new should not be having these issues in the first place. The gas mileage is a joke. If I am lucky, I get 28/MPG on the freeway. I have the alloy sport wheels and they are awful for winter driving---especially in MN! Not sure if I would ever buy one again---ask me once the warranty runs out.

Good motor 2.0 (only for racers :-)) Good stability (wonderful suspension) Good breaks Good steering Good sound isolation Good fuel consumption All!!!

Weakness:

None!!!!

First of all, it seems that the first year of Focus production for USA was producing not the same car that here in Europe. You should now that you are talking with a Ford lover... don''t think that I cant sat anything bad from Ford, but everybody should recognize that the new Ford focus resumes the new company''s style (and quality overall) I have owned: two orions, two fiestas, two escorts, one Sierra XR4i (wonderful car... suddenly it went to trash when a drunk crash their Focus against it) and currently I have one Fiesta, one Focus 2000cc Ghia finished and a Mondeo 2.500 V6... all beautiful cars for their range and price. The Focus is just better builded outside and inside than any other Ford before was. Their Zetec motor with 135Hp is just for fun!! Fast RPM rise, high precission steering and a no-rival-for-its-price suspension: 200Km/h (125Mph/h) and any control lose feeled. I have any of the releated problems from reviewers below. Just miles and miles without incidents.

Just a shoddy product. Avoid!

What a rotten excuse for a car! It has Only 44,000 miles on it and the ignition went south and now the transmission failed and had to be replaced. Nothing but trouble! I''ll buy a Toyota or Nissan next time. Never, never, never another Ford!

EVERY LAST NUT AND PLASTIC BOLT

I HATE HATE HATE my car!!! I bought it in June 2000 and after looking at my records, my car has been in the shop for over 50 days since I got it. Everything from recalls, leaks, fuel gauge, and starter, to actually not being able to fit the key in the ignition!!! What a rip off. I leased an Acura Integra before this but I couldn''t afford the payoff payments so I decided on this lemon. They say hindsight is 20/20... Not only will I never look at another Focus, the run around I have been getting has turned me away from all Ford products. Lemon Law, here I come.

I have to keep putting air in the tires (Once every 1.5 weeks

I loved my car from the first time I saw it. There were 4 minor recalls the first year but they were fixed quickly at no charge when I took it to Koons Sterling Ford. The only long term problem is that 2 of my tires keep going flat no matter how many times I change the tires. I had this checked by koons and Merchant tire and they can not find the problem.
