Strength:

Powerful Engine, Roomy, Outside Looks, Gas Milages

Weakness:

Cheap Seats, A/C Fuse blew but dealer fixed it, Gauge for speed is only 85 MPH, Interior design is weak, A/C smells real bad sometimes, Noisy, Gas tank is small

As you can see there are more weaknesses then strengths. But for some reason I enjoy my car. I brought it in 1995 for about 13k. Every since then I only drive that car on trips. My car has 75000 miles on it and it stills run great. Probably because I put in Dura Lube. I have not had much problems with this car execpt for the A/C problem (the medium mode would not produce anything only High). My A/C is very cold and I have not put any freon in it since I brought it. Botom line its a great car and it has not caused me any problems. I only use it for long trips. I would recommend this car to anyone but not to whom that drive mostly street.

Strength:

Very good steering. Acceleration is balanced out well especially for highway haggles. Riding on the street around town is pretty good. Stopping power and grip is excellent. Controls are well thought out and clear to use. Pass through to the trunk is nice and large. Good cupholders. Very Good lookin automobile much better than the last one as far as styling goes. Excellent sound system and clarity.

Weakness:

It does quite well on the highway but certain types of road noises create a bit of a annoyance on a rough day. Head room and sight for driving is complicated by an angled low sweeping frame bar that extends from the hood/body of the car along side the windshield to the roof. The actual shape of the trunk/wheel well needs to be changed a little bit more. The seats are a bit too firm some extra cushion for a little give-take would be nice. The posture of the Automatic gear shifter needs to be re-thought out baised on the way it moves around the steering column.

I would recommend this vehicle for around town driving nothing to extensive. Very good car to take to the groccers due to the trunk and cargo room. The price for this one was $18,445 I believe give or take a little. It has room for improvement but it is a good car to use when trying to complete the running around when working on a long list of "To do's".

Strength:

Excellect Car. I Have owned it since new and it now has 220114 kilometers (136778 miles) on it, and it still runs like it's brand new. It is a very comfortable car to ride in on long trips.

The only major thing that has gone wrong with this car is the oil pan gasket had to be replaced about 1500 kilometers (932 miles) ago. Only one $35.00 gasket in 8 years (other than regular maintenence) is pretty darn good in my books.

Weakness:

As mentioned above, I had to replace the oil pan gasket, but that is the only thing that really kept the car off the road. Some minor problems I've had are a couple of dash lights burning out, and the seats are getting soft and worn, but that can't be helped :)

Since I bought it new, I paid the original price for it. I think it was well worth it considering how many kilometers is has and all I've had is the one problem. I would recommend this car to anyone who needs to have a good car for long trips because of the comfort, reliablity, and good gas milage.

Strength:

Speed - Quick acceleration, and I have had it above 140mph. I wouldnt hesitate to race a GT Mustang any time.
Interior - Leather looks good after 11 years, everythign else works excpet for the occasional power windows switch. Dash kind of boring, needed more toys.
Body - Maybe its just mine, but my 11 year old Fords body has very little body rust, only on the trunk lid.

Weakness:

Ride - Kind of bumpy, feels more like a truck than a sedan.
Ford - Its a ford, so already within the month of owning it I have replaced the power stearing($450), starter($250) and cluth ($800). But the car does have 140,000 miles on it, was sitting for a year behind a building, and I paid a guy $500 for it knowing it would need work. Lets face it, Ford sucks.

I bought this car from a neighbor for fun to play with. I have heard stories about these cars beating stock GT Mustangs, and now I believe it. This car flies. The first time I drove it home I wanted to see what my baby could do so I got on it from a stop light - WOW! I was so in shock from all the dirt and smoke flying everywhere, I reved the engine up to 6000RPM in first gear... OOOPS! The tires were still spinning all the way up to 40mph in first gear. This car was built to accelerate. Besides the fixes I have already have done to it, I am sure there will be more to come due to its maker - FORD. I swore never to buy a Ford after hearing all the horror stories, but I had to have this one and would do it all over agian if I had too. This car is alot of fun in a stick shift, and its great to see the looks of others especially in Mustangs when I come flying past them and THEY CANT CATCH UP! This car does 140mph easily. If you want a fun project car without attracting all the attention a Mustang would a SHO is for you!

Strength:

Very Reliable, not bad pick up, roomy hatchback trunk, nice interior. Handled very well in snow, heavy rain, and took curves and hills rather well. Great on gas.

Weakness:

This car really doesn't have the horsepower for anything if you have four people in it. The front end tends to raise when accelerating. Expect some trouble with paint in the long term.

For 4000 bucks it was a great car. In fact after an accident totaled the car I found a man in my driveway with 700 dollars willing to take it away BEFORE I even put a for sale sign on it. Parts are really cheap and durable.

Strength:

None at all. The car ran fine for about two weeks after we had purchased it. We soon found our selves stuck with a $5000 lemon.

Weakness:

Quality number 1 is a total lie. In the first few weeks of us owning this car we had to spend close $1000 in repairs. We had to have the head gasket, the spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the belt replaced. We had the car aligned twice because it kept wearing out new tires (The Goodyear dealer claimed the car was never ever going to be able to be set to manufacture specs.). Overall, I think the cars number one weakness is the fact that it has Ford stamp to the front.

My wife and I purchased the car as our second family car. We traded in our Olds Achieva and purchased this car for $6000 total. When we purhcased the car it had 60000 miles on it. I did several searchs on the web and everything that I found seemed to be positive. I however did not think to call one of our local Ford mechanics who told me flat out that all Ford Tuaras are junk after 70000 miles. They all have their constantly usual problems. Oil leaks, bad head gaskets, bad fuel milage, wear on tires, rattles and shakes, noises and pings. I would definetly not recomend a Tauras to anyone looking for a car, especially a family who may have a low budget. If you do buy one, even the newer model line, be prepared to shell out the money for repairs after 70,000 miles.

Holds up in accidents.....Safe, Nice body, nice interior, big car

Weakness:

In the year that i owned the car, the head gasgets were blown, the transmition was very screwed up, almost to the point that i had to get a new one, and to top it all off i had to get an entire new engine. The repairs itself cost much more than the car i got used for 3,800, the repairs were 5,000+

I paid 3,800 for the 92 taurus in the summer of 98. It had 85,000 miles, no blemishes. I have always heard that Ford Taurus are safe and that they can be costly, but i did not think that it would be as bad as it was. i know that i should have done my reaserch and i would not have gotten a complete lemon. I would not recommend any taurus to anyone.

Roomy, lots of room for kids, dog, stuff. That's the only good thing I can think of.

Weakness:

Oh, where to start??? I bought this car for $9000 in March 2000 (they wanted $12,000). Two weeks later, the heater core went and cost $650 to repair. Six week later, my family was driving to Lake Tahoe for a wedding when our transmission went out in Portland. After spending $500 on hotel/meals/rental car and waiting 4 days for it to be fixed for $1500, we barely made it to our wedding. June went by with no problems---what a miracle. Now, in the past week, I've had trouble with my power steering and I have a hole in my radiator. I'm scared to take it in because I can't put anymore money into this car right now. So..it will sit until I can repair it. Gosh, this car is terrible. I have a baby and I need a reliable car. Can't get it here..........Ford, you've really let me down. I'm selling it as soon as it's fixed. Anyone want to buy a lemon?

Whatever I paid was too much considering I've already spent almost $3000 on repairs plus whatever it will cost me to fix the power steering and radiator. Warrany won't do me any good because I need a reliable car and piece of mind. I WOULDN'T WISH THIS CAR ON MY WORST ENEMY!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!
