Strength:

I am really enjoying this vehicle. This vehicle has a lot of features my last Taurus(95) didn't have. I know have speed control, traction control and temperature control. I like having all these new features.

Weakness:

As of now I don't have any complaints about this vehicle.

With my trade I think I did ok with this vehicle. I was able to get 3.9% financing over 4 years.

You can get a nicely equipped Taurus for under 20k
Large interior/back seat is comfortable during long rides
There is a number of different engines to fit your needs
The best performing in crash tests

Weakness:

The Taurus has gone through a cycle of updating and refreshing look therapy. It looks great and down right bold looking. I recommend buying the 2000 Taurus with the leather seats because I got mine with the dark leather seats and it looks as if it would have cost twice what I paid for. I paid 19,899 for my Taurus! The 6 CD changer sounds great with the audio system. The driver visibility is good. The driver seat controls are easy to understand, and the radio and car controls are well laid out. The Camry has been dominating the US market for mid-sized cars but the 2000 will prove itself. I recommend the Taurus to anybody.

everything has been repaired. spend more fixing it than buying it. I'm on my second Taurus they were both undependable. I cant imagine a more problamatic car. it's useless and is always in the shop for repairs. You would think because it's so big it's safe, no it smashes well. Nothing in this car ever worked right.

a decent price but a useless car. I cannot think of any reason to get a Taurus.

*******************2000 Ford Taurus SE**********************
Hey I'm Sean and I have a wife and 2 children. I was in the market for a mid-sized car and saw the Taurus. The Taurus really has changed. I financed a gray Taurus SE for 20,987 dollars. When the car sales man who sold me this car was telling me about the things that my Taurus had, instead of focusing on the stereo and leather seats, he focused on the safety aspect of the vehicle. He had told me that the Taurus received the highest rating possible by the government. Also after doing my own research I found out that the Taurus did great on the offset crash test that the IIHS conducted. All this information can be accessed at:

http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle_ratings/ce/large_family/large_family.htm

http://www.nhtsa.gov/ncap/cars/1462.html

I don't understand what Melissa M. meant by smashed well, but I think she wanted to say that the car absorb the crash forces by crumpling. Overall this car is roomy, powerful, looks good, and a terrific value. I urge anyone who wants a mid-sized car to take a look at the Taurus.

Strength:

the styling is gorgous, the ride is supurb and it drives like a sports car. the flexible fuel is a neat attention getter although I have yet to find a gas station that sells Ethanol. The interior looks and feels like a Lexus and the car performes like a sports car.

Weakness:

low front bumper is prone to scrapes

paid $18,000 new with leather, cd changer, and just about everything else you need, a solid six cylinder. It comes with a warranty and 24 hour roadside assistance, I fully recomend the Taurus to anyone. Anyone looking for a solid family car with a little punch for the weekends should invest in this car.

Strength:

My 1996 Taurus is very roomy. It has a great audio system. Mine is the GL and even the standard audio system is great. My car has to this date never let me down. It has always started and I have 64,789 miles on it. It has taken me everywhere and has never over has heated.

Ford has made the 2000 Taurus better than ever. My 2000 Taurus has more room. The trunk space is larger and you have more leg room.
Value*

Weakness:

I have 64,789 miles on my 1996 Taurus and it has to this date not let me down. The Taurus is a extremly reliable car.

My first Taurus experience was back in 1996. I paid about 16 thousand. Now its close to 65,000 miles and I can honestly say that it is a reliable car. The Taurus is comfortable and darn right made right.

2000 Ford Taurus WoW!
Everyone who is considering to buy a sedan, I urge you to visit your Ford Dealer. Ford has changed the Taurus from the inside to the outside. The new Taurus is really something. I got my 2000 Taurus in January and it set me back 18,685 dollars. The car looks great and I expect it to last for quite a while. Some other people might say that the Taurus is a lousy car, but don't be fooled. Ford has changed the Taurus. be an educated buyer! The 2000 Taurus is comfortable. My son is 5'9 and he fits comfortably in the back seat. My wife who is hard to please, loves my car. She always wants to take the car to work. We recently took a vacation to Northern California. And we took our new Taurus. All the luggage fitted in the trunk. We took skis as well, so we also purchased the optional removable roof rack. Overall I am extremly pleased with my my 1996 Taurus and especially with my 2000 Taurus.

Every thing. Great ride, nice leather seats, good radio system, I just love this car!

Weakness:

Nothing. Well at 198K the transmission was replaced, lasted a hell of a alot longer than my 1993 Camry!

This car is a true American beauty. Recently I was a accident with a new honda Accord, I believe it was a 2000. He ran the red light, and hit me going 40 MPH on my door! The 00 Accord was totaled, his seat belt snapped!!!!!!!!!!!! But my Taurus was still repairable, and I did not even have one scatch! I would highly recommend the Taurus over any Import because of the safty, and Quailty of being #1!!!

Quality,Value,Roomy interior,trunk space,safety,and good engine feel

Weakness:

There are many packages that you can get with the Taurus. It can get confusing.

My name is Brian. I got a 2000 Taurus in December of 99. My wife and my little one looked at every mid-sized car available. We looked at the 2000 model Impala,Camry,Saturn SL,Lumina,Accord, and the Mazda 626. I was impressed at all the thing the Taurus had. I know that you can get cruise, air, side airbags, and tilt on almost any car, but at the price I paid it was great. The MSRP for my Taurus SE was 23,975 , but I ended up paying 20,348 for it. Mine came equipped with the leather interior, wood, and the cool upgraded engine. I have had this vehicle for almost 5 months now, and let me tell you, I do not have any regrets. I recommend this car to people who want a great car at the right price. I don't recommend this car for people who have a large family 6+, because it may be not be comfortable for the passengers during long rides. But overall, Ford did a great job in designing this car!

Strength:

Nothing!

Weakness:

I read the other reviews and kept saying "Yes, I replaced that and that and that and that and......" I bought a used 1989 model for my daughter. The car looked good but what a piece of junk. Paid $3,500 and spent $4,500 over 3.5 years to keep it running. They were so many things still wrong with the car (stalling (just put in new $400 fuel pump), axle noise, oil leaks, antifreeze leak on back on engine, ps noise, tranny noise, bad brakes) we just traded it in on a new 2000 Corolla. The Toyota dealer offered $500 then gave us $1,000 trade in ( he felt sorry for Taurus owners I think). Will never own another Ford car. I hope the Toyota holds up to its good reputation.

$3,500.00 used. Looked good...piece of junk!
