This is my fourth month with the Taurus, and everything is going smoothly. I do a lot of driving, and this car is terrific during long rides. The seats are comfortable and the audio system is super. The feel of the engine is confident and passing other vehicles on the freeway as well. My Taurus is the silver frost color, and all my colleagues always complements me in the parking lot. I have had zero problems so far. My Ford dealer assures me if I should, that my warranty will cover mostly everything that could go wrong. The Taurus would be a great car for people who have kids or just for yourself. The Taurus is very comfortable and its priced to sell. Hey you cant beat a good price.

Strength:

It has never stalled on me and the engine is strong

Weakness:

The transmission had to be replaced at 65000 miles as I have since found out happens to many taurus owners. I have had to replace the radiator/ and heater core computer problems with brakes

Paid $12,600 in 1994 I might try one more newer model but only after I know for sure the transmission problem has been corrected. If I do try another Ford product and get hosed, I will never buy another one.

Strength:

* Well laid out
* Great Audio system
* Personal Protection System
* Best Buy
*Qaulity

Weakness:

* I have none to cooment on

To start of my commentary on the 2000 Taurus, I would first like to say that I have done my homework on other cars out there and I found that the Taurus exceeded if not met my criteria.

Room: The 2000 Taurus is roomy and the seats are comfortable. Mine comes equipped with the leather seats. They are supportive during long rides. The back seat, has great leg room. Head room is great as well.

Safety: As far as passenger safety is concerned, the Taurus received 5 starts from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association. The new 2000 Taurus comes standard with the Personal Protection system. I feel very confident that I am in a safe car that did great in its weight class.

Value: The Taurus comes in 4 models. The LX/SE/SEL/SES. I purchased the SE model, and I find this vehicle filled with many amenities that more expensive sedans carry.

Quality: This car is pretty good in workmanship. I looked at the LX model, and it looks the same as my SE model. The only difference was the seats and other options.

Overall: Ford did a great job in making this car. The 2000 Taurus is just terrific. I recommend this car to everyone in the market for a sedan. Although this car deserves a 10 I can only put 5 stars. Take a look at the new 2000 TAURUS!

Strength:

roomy, big trunk, holds six people

Weakness:

inefficient gas mileage,transmission, poor resale value,

I have used it for five and six months. I had not have any problems for five years before it gets bad such as transmission and hoses. When I bought it, I was glad to buy it so cheap, 15,900 dollars with full equipped. At that time, I was considering to buy Accord which was 1,000 dollar more expensive. I should have bought it then I do not have this kind of problems and especially when I am considering to sell my Taurus now, the resale value is 3,000 dollars less than the Accord. I read good review of 2000 Taurus and I guess it is a lot better than 1995 Taurus but nobody will be sure it will be getting bad after five years while the Accord and Camry runs exceptionally well without any problem after 5 or 6 years. Be a smart buyer

I am currently leasing a 2000 Taurus. Although Im just leasing this car for 2 years, I am diffidently going to buy this car after the lease ends. There are so many reasons to buy this car. For one the price is right. For about 19 thousand dollars you can get a really nice Taurus. I like mine because its the SE model with the leather interior. The visibility is great and all the safety features are great. The engine feel is confident and this car can be described in one simply sentence (Its a great car!).I recommend this car to people who have a small family and who really want a well built car.

Hmmm, guess what I really cant think of one.

Just to let you know, this car is super. I have had my Maxima for 2 and a half years now. It was time for a change. I was looking at every sedan out there. I looked at the new Maxima,LS Saturn, even the Chevrolet Impala. But I was sold on the Taurus when I first got to examine it.It looks like a luxury car inside. My SE taurus comes with dark leather seats and it looks grand.I paid $19,278, and I think that I would have paid a little more.I like how it looks on the outside.The seats couldnt be anymore comfortable.There really suportive on long rides. I like driving my Taurus everywhere I go.If you want a roomy sedan, take this car into consideration.

The taurus is a great value. The gas consumption is decent and the car looks good.

Weakness:

I am not aware of any.

After buying a Honda, I was pretty sure that I was going to buy the new 2000 Accord. But after being persuaded by my wife to go see the new 2k Taurus, I was actually surprised about how the Taurus has changed. The new look is really something. The Accord isn't ugly but I know that the 2k Taurus is going to make really good first impressions. The drive in the Taurus is smooth. The engine feels smooth when passing other vehicles on the highway (especially here in Arizona).After having this vehicle for three months now, I have had no problems. Although I have only had this vehicle for 3 months, I recommend everyone to see the new 2k Taurus (it might surprise you)!

Hey Im Brent and I purchased a 2000 Taurus. I never thought that I would ever buy a Taurus. But after looking at my friends SES, I was impressed. Especially at the price that he paid. I paid 18,645 dollars for mine. Now for everything that I got, It was worth it. The pro audio system in mine is something to brag about. The ride is good and the acceleration is good as well. I really make the engine growl on the freeway, because im a really crazy driver. But to be serious, I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. If I had a choice between the Accord/Camry/LS Saturn/ I would definitely choose the Taurus.

Good looking interior. Newly designed exterior and interior. Gas Mileage/Comfort/Safety System/Overall great vehicle

Weakness:

Cant note one you guys!

I was in need of a vehicle, and I stopped by a Ford dealer on my way from work. What caught my eye about the 2000 Taurus was its exterior. It had a balance of cutting edge design but in a subtle approach. I took a look into the Taurus SE's interior and I just loved it. The dash board looks great and the seats as well. Being a woman, Its sometimes really hard to be taken serious about purchasing a car. But the Ford Dealer was great. I purchased a 2000 Taurus SE for 17,895. After 2 months of ownership, I have fallen in love with this car. It rides really good, and I like the comfort. The trunk space is more than enough room and the 60/40 opening in the rear is great when you have skies or something long that wouldn't fit in the trunk. Anyone that is looking at the Camry or Accord, I would recommend that you stop by at a Ford dealer, because for the price, you really get a lot!

Model Reviewed: Taurus SHO

Strength:

Good power, with a little work can out accelerate pony cars. Handles nice with better tires. I've put about 15000 miles on my SHO with no real problems, just some upgrades. It had 60000 miles on it when I bought it a year ago.

Weakness:

Three extra letters means the parts are much more expensive.

I'd recommend a SHO if you know it was taken good care of, but they are more expensive than the standard models.

Similar Products Used:

Bonneville, Maxima, standard model Taurus. They just can't compare to the fun of driving a SHO.
