Strength:

it drove well, and had good brakes

Weakness:

reliability
gas mileage(22mpg on freeway, 16-18 around town)

We bought this vehicle from a older woman we knew for years. She had bought it new and took it to a dealership for all its scheduled maintenances. It had the 3.0L V6 and the auto tranny. We bought it at 85,000 miles and it proceeded to fall apart on us over the next 15,000 miles until we sold the piece of crap. The following are all the problems we noticed in the short 15,000 miles we owned the car.
1= There was an intermittent no start condition, somewhere in the starter relay.
2=The transmission was about to die, shifting was rough and delayed. Any time you went to wide open throttle, it would tap the rev limmiter before it shifted to second gear.
3=The drivers door trim panel near the window just flew off one day while driving down the freeway. Thereafter the interior wind noise was terrible.
4=The rear window defroster did not work. Though this may have been bad before we bought the car.
5=One headlight bulb went out.
6=The alignment had to be done twice in the 15,000 miles we had it because it was eating the inside tread patch on both front tires. But Honda's arent built with fully adjustable alignments so there was only so much they could do.
7=The radio had a few buttons which didn't work.
8=The keyless entry did not work half the time, and it wasnt just a battery.
9=The check engine light in the dashboard went out, and had to be repaired in order to get it inspected.
10=The hand shifter lost the mounting screws and fell apart. We had to use a pen to be able to engage out of drive.

All the problems from 85,000 to 100,000, and we got rid of the car. This was our first and last honda product.

Model Reviewed: Accord Ex Coupe M/T

Strength:

Powerful yet economical (28 city 32 highway).

Weakness:

Coupe is cramped in rear.

The Honda Accord is a reliable and economical vehicle. Unlike the Civic, the Accord is bigger and more luxurious with a 6 CD changer, fingertip audio and cruise control, access friendly climate and radio switches, 16 inche alloy wheels, and a powerful engine all available from the EX package. The 4 cylinder 2.4 liter iVtec (K24A1) engine pumps out 160 hp and 161 ft lbs of torque making it a formidable street machine while keeping a clean, "grown up" image. Performance is great but could be better due to the 6,500 rpm redline and 5,000 rpm iVtec engagement. Overall, its a great vehicle for the young and old.

Strength:

Great power, good ergonomic instrument design.

Weakness:

Grabby brakes, somewhat weak A/C, some highway noise, uncomfortable seats.

This car is just OK.

I drove a Civic for nearly a decade before trading up to the Accord, and it is definitely a step up in comfort, power and ergonomics. The cockpit is awesome with very simple utilitarian controls. The plastic pieces on the door have started to come unglued a bit, which is a mild bummer. The seats are uncomfortable. Not unbearable, but not very comfortable either. Plenty of room in the backseat for my homies to roll. The drivers side window motor is dodgy, and I sense that it will need replacing. I had the same problem with the Civic, so maybe it's a Honda issue.

Decent mpg, but not great. I got the 4cyl, so i expected better, but I get in the low 20s with a lot of city driving.

The brakes are way to grabby. I mean, you WILL have to get used to the brakes. I talked to two mechanics about this issue; one of them actually looked at the entire brake system and found nothing wrong. Both mechanics said they have heard similar complaints from Accord owners.

Great power for a 4cyl. It was a dream moving from my little baby Civic to the unbridled raw power of the Accord. A "normal" driver should eschew the 6cyl; the 4cyl is power enough, even in a traffic-heavy frenetic city like Dallas.

The A/C is a bit weak. Not terrible, but not great.

A fair amount or road noise, but coming from the rolling tornadic-wind-on-wheels of my old Civic, the Accord is relatively quiet.

Bottom line: it's a Honda, so it's gonna be a good investment. Just buy used!

Model Reviewed: Honda Accord EX 6M/T Coupe

Strength:

Reliability
Fuel Efficiency
Fun to drive: car has better numbers than the 350/350 Corvette I had in grad school.

Weakness:

The 50 series 17-inch OEM Michelin tires combine with the 6MT suspension to permit a somewhat invasive noise level........

..from the test drive (didn't buy there!) to the present, this Taffeta White coupe has averaged 27-28 MPG, had three unexpected visits to the local dealer and ultimately been a very dependable, thrifty and fun to drive vehicle.

I also drive a 1982 Volks diesel pickup which gets even better fuel economy (but isn't NEAR as fast)

Model Reviewed: Coupe LX-Special Edition

Strength:

Rock solid reliability.

Weakness:

The day i drove the car home, there was a loose screw that attaches the heat shield of the catalytic converter to the underside of the car.
Also, the armrests for the front seats are somewhat flimsy...i can already notice it starting to separate at the seam to the window controls.
Also, this car is very fussy with tires. Some give the car radial pull. Try to not get 'uni-directional' tires.

overall good car.
My main complaint about this car, and cars sold in america in general, is that it is 'oversized'. There is absolutely no reason for this car being as big as it is. I am thinking of selling it and getting a used accord from late 90's, which are more practical (lighter) and get better gas mileage.

Model Reviewed: Accord EX-L 2.4L 4CYL

Strength:

#1 - SAFETY/CRASH PERFORMANCE!!!
#2 - 4CYL seems just as powerful as V6 so save the gas mileage and buy a 4CYL.

Weakness:

QUIRKS: 1) the sunroof controls on the lower left of dash instead of against roof; 2) dashboard lights turn on bright when key put in ignition so you might forget to actually turn on headlinghts at night (and when you do, the dashboard lights dim).

I owned the 2005 Accord EX-L 2.4L 4CYL for exactly two years. Then I took a direct hit in the driver's door from a Ford Explorer SUV going 40-50+ mph -- and walked away on a cane three days later! Not many sedan car owners can say that!! I have only 2 hairline fractures in my pelvis, which should heal in 6 to 12 weeks. I'm definitely buying another Accord.
I also had this vehicle on three New England trips of 3,000 to 5,000 miles each. Very comfortable ride, easy handling. The Leather and Dual Climate Controls preempted those temp-related spousal fights so it's worth the extra $1,000 in price.

Strength:

Security on ice and snow without snow tires. Feels like a much more expensive car. Feels solid when you drive it and is somewhat like a BMW. Fit and finish on the inside and out is great. I could go onand on.

Weakness:

Could be a little quieter, but as soon as you put on the radio you hear nothing

Solid, smooth, mostly quiet and appears to be more expensive that it is. Good fuel economy (21 mpg) in short trips in the dead of winter. Very secure feeling with the traction and stability control on icy surfaces. Seats are very comfortable and adjustable to any body.
