Strength:

Very reliable
Excellent fit and finish
Enough power to do what you need
No rattles/squeaks after >120k and 2 years on crappy St. Louis roads
Economical
Comfortable for both daily commutes and long road trips
Handles decently well in the snow and ice with all-season tires
Very well laid-out interior

Weakness:

It takes a moment to think of any...
I guess the power antenna - I replaced it with a fixed antenna and disconnected the power to the motor after the retractable antenna stopped working correctly

Overall, my 6 years with this vehicle have been great. I go out every morning and don't have to worry about whether or not it will start(unlike my wife's Saturn). It runs smoothly and effortlessly and it feels just a solid as the day I purchased it. I am religious about the routine maintenance so I expect a lot more miles out of this car. The only repairs I have had to make other than the above mentioned antenna have been both CV boots replaced and a new brake master cylinder for a grand total of $550 - not bad for a nine year old car.
I have recommended Honda to every family member and they have all been very pleased. You will not go wrong with any Honda product - just make sure it is a Honda and not a rebadged Isuzu!:)
If you are looking for some pocket rocket with which you can race out of stoplights, get something else. It is unbelievable that people actually submit reviews slamming the Accord for not being able to hang with Audis etc. It is a practical, reliable, comfortable people mover. It is a good looking car that will get you from point A to B in a confident manner every time. If you want any GM product, fine. Just make sure your other car is a Honda. That way, your spouse can pick you up at the mechanic with the Honda.

This car compares very well with others in its class. I have rented many American midsize cars (i.e. Dodge Stratus, Chrysler Sebring, Chevy Lumina, etc.)- none of them come close in terms of comfort, fit and finish and handling. My brother's '95 Camry felt equal in terms of quality and durability but the ride is somewhat mushy and the handling is numb.

Model Reviewed: LX auto and LX stick

Strength:

Tight, rigid body. The ride is nice and the handling is even better. Even though the styling is somewhat bland, the personality that the car exhibits when driving are very addictive. You can push pretty hard and the Accord just responds with diligent responses. The 4-cylinder with the 5-speed manual is a pretty quick car. Get the engine past 4000 rpm...and the VTEC kicks in and the just takes off. The automatic is no slouch either, but there is a noticable difference between the auto and the manual.

Weakness:

Bland styling. It isn't really a bad thing....400,000 Americans can't be wrong, and the 4-cyl automatic could use more snort off the line...but then again...it is a 4-cylinder. If I wanted more power, I would have opted for the V6.

Well, I have two Accords. Both are 2000's and they are both LX's, the only difference being color and transmissions. The cars are very tight. No squeaks or rattlings. The ride is taught yet very well controlled and the material fit and finish is first rate. Visibility is very good and the car is relatively quiet. There is some wind noise however...but remember what class of car this is. It is far quieter than the Taurus and the Malibu. I have yet to find anything from America that can REMOTELY compete with these cars.

Ford Taurus (BLAH!!!). I HATED this car. Toyota Camry is a good car...but the 4-cyl with the automatic is a DOG SLED!

Strength:

Build quality, fuel economy, power at high rpm, handling, hey...it's a Honda

Weakness:

Transmission shifts too slow but it seems to be getting better with time or I'm just getting used to it. More off-line power needed.

I've had this car for a year now (20K mi) and it's finally broken in. The tranny shifts better now then when new. The MPG top out after about 6k mi averaging 23-25 mpg around town. It would be nice if the car had a little more power off-line, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice any top end power. BTW, I love it when the V-Tech kicks in. Excellant power on the highway...had it over 100mph and still pulling strong. Interior and exterior are holding up good. I think the overhead console could have been better designed. The sunglass holder is a waste of space. Over-all I'm happy with the car.

Model Reviewed: Accord Hatchback

Strength:

Reliability. Purchased the car 3 years ago at 170,000 miles (280,000km). Today the car has 241,000 miles on it and the engine DOESN'T BURN A SINGLE DROP OF OIL 7000 MILES AFTER EACH OIL CHANGE. Gas mileage is still 30mpg in mixed driving, 33 highway! Except for the A/C (which didn't work since I purchased the car) everything else works fine! Need I say more?

Weakness:

Quite a bit of body rust, esp in the rear wheel wells. Not sure why - I didn't see this on other Hondas of similar age. That's how I bought the car. The car looks like a piece of junk because of this but it drives very nicely.

Tomorrow is going to be a sad day. I'm changing my trusty Accord with a newer car ('98 Maxima). In 3 years I drove this car on a daily basis (70k miles in 3 years ...) and in the past two years I drove this car to work and back 25 miles each way, daily. The car was extremely dependable - in 3 years the car had broke down just twice (a rear suspension support arm cracked twice - it was only $100 to fix). Other repairs were maintenance only: brakes, timing belt, muffler, one CV and two tie-rods. I paid $1100 for the car and another $1200 for the 3 year maintenance. If you can find a better price/performance ratio for a car please let me know :)
The only reason why I'm not buying an Accord again is the lack of legroom in the new Accord sedans (I'm 6'3"). In my '87 hatchback the front seats go back quite a bit though.

Model Reviewed: Accord EX - V6

Strength:

I love everything about this car but then Honda's have had my heart since I was a little girl. The power is great! The interior is really nice if you get the EX or LX with leather. They did a good job of making everything easily accesible. There is plenty of head and leg room to cram all of your friends in also! And the paint job is GREAT! (My car is dark blue and when it's been freshly washed...it's a beauty)

Weakness:

The defroster doesn't work as well as it should but hey, as long as I can see a little it doesn't bother me much.

I would recommend a Honda to anyone. My father drives a 1999 Civic, my mom has a 2001 CRV and my brother drives a 1993 Accord EX. They are just great cars. If you keep up the proper maintance, these cars will last you a lifetime! And the 1995 Accord is awesome.

Model Reviewed: Honda Accord Coupe EXL V6

Strength:

Smooth and quite operation, sleeper, you think it is slow until it is to late (above 3700RPM, smart engineering for a daily car, returns better fuel economy and traction). Comfortable intertior, great for long and short trips
Fuel economy 26 mpg avg in mixed driving

Weakness:

Low end power (below 2500rpm)
Wind noise is loud compared to the quiteness of the suspension and engine

If sugar had another name it would be Honda Accord. Solid handleing in routine and high speed driving. Controlled acceleration. Once you learn the power band and how to drive this car you will appreciate the engineering. The front of the car is indentical to the sedan. Odd tire size of 205/60HR16, will replace with 225/55HR16. My other car is a 97 Nissan Maxima. Comparing the two I find that the Accord is more of a racer and has a better suspension, better fuel economy (26mpg vs 25mpg in mix driving), quiter operation and has less expensive accesories. The Maxima has more low end power but is slower, a less controlling rear suspension, requires premium fuel and has less useable interior storage space. Both cars are automatic. I highly recommend either car.
Other car considered - 00 Grand Prix - Great exterior, UGLY interior

Weakness:

extremely thin paint and weak clear coat, ok brakes, small sunroof opening, none low end torque whatsoever, won't downshift when suppose to, standard not offered, the dealer, cornering, gas milage, curb weight

brakes were squeaking two months after i drove it off the lot. door panel has a very annoying noise as if it loose. weird noises here and there. wind noise is very loud. the service at the dealer is sh!t, the technitian drove my car out the garage with dirty uniform and hands covered by engine oil. the dealer doesn't really care about customers because they are selling hondas. Not a car for a person who wants performance. Perfect for people who wants nothing more than adequate power and smooth ride

Strength:

real attention getter, great design, comfy and very tight. Honda reliability. I have a rear wing spoiler, tinted windows and a sunroof visor, I love the looks of this car

Weakness:

The pain sucks, I have many paint swirls and many scratches. The paint is rough along the bottom and I take excellent car of it. The sunroof has a small opening with the sunroof visor. The leather is starting to crack a large amount at 25k. brakes already need to be replaced. the 200Hp is a joke. Fuel economy is not good but not terrible. The brakes squeak when wet, even when new

Ok so its a excellent running car and it is the best Honda design out there. The looks make up for the lack of power. But the squeks drive me crazy. The Honda guys are so nice and supportive but they can not get al the rattles out. It seems like when they finally fix one of the many I find another one. I am pleased with this car. I love the looks I feel like I am getting al the looks. Maybe I am expecting too much, it is my first brand new car and I am upset of how much money I am going to loose. I love Honda's and will probably buy another one when I get rid of this. For sure not the V6 too expensive and not worth it.
