Model Reviewed: Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe

Strength:

Style, power, features (for the price!), suspension, handling, comfort, slick interior, everything within easy reach of driver, standard sound system is *excellent*, 6 disc in-dash cd player standard

Weakness:

Road noise could be a tad more silent, but I'm digging for *something* that I don't like. I wouldn't mind if the moonroof would open a bit more, but...

I LOVE THIS CAR!! I cannot believe just how refined the driving experience is - especially for the price! VERY powerful, yet easy to handle V6 engine, excellent braking, wonderful handling, and very comfortable enterior. The list of features is endless, so if you're thinking of purchasing this car, go for the EX V6 model. You won't believe how much bang you'll get for your buck, and the resale value is great. I *highly* recommend this car!

Strength:

Ride Quality, Safe feeling, good power, very comfy car. Easy to own car...

Weakness:

a little to much body roll around corners at higher speeds.. Drinks gas ( considering I came from a Civic) STEREO BITES

This is a good car.. Do not expect a Mercedes for 23 grand.. Change the speakers and the stock stereo will be sufficient.. Also, I had a little trouble with vibration at first but I learned that the service tech at CREST HONDA WORLD was a dumb ass.. I brought it back 4 times and they finally got it right but I had to watch him do it, even after 3 times when I watched them do it the wheels were .50 off 2 were .75... Honda is to busy selling cars to train there people correctly I guess.. I waited 6 months to objectively review this car and I am glad I did, It has really grown on me. I am sold on Honda quality I just wish the service guys had some more training... But my salesman was WAY COOL

Model Reviewed: Accord 2.3L VTi-L A/T

Strength:

Spacious for its class!!!
Good finish.
Ample power for everyday commute.
Comfortable leather seats.
Good ergonomics.
Good dashboard layout design.
Acceptable quiet ride with good suspension.
Good ABS and braking.
Good handling.

Weakness:

Low torque.
Needs more power for its size (...and Honda's got a sporty heritage, right?)
Basic exterior design.
OEM tires could be bigger.

Have owned a Canadian '92 Civic Si, local '94 Civic Esi (EX-V over there I think) and a local '98 Civic Lxi. Always loved Honda reliability! Now that I can afford it, I've upgraded to the Accord and got more impressed. I believe the VTi-L here is the equivalent of the EX (4cyl) w/ Leather over there, with ABS as standard equipment.

Love the quiet ride with ample power for everyday drive, but yes, I agree with a good number of Accord owners, sometimes I do look for those extra horses. Once I got totally outclassed by a Merc C200 Kompressor, outclassed is ok but "totally" is a bit hard to take. Civic were pretty nimble for its class.

The new Accord has a decent, no-nonsense business exterior though not striking (chrome grills standard here and they look better). OEM tires can be wider and bigger. I have converted to 215/60/15's and feel better and more secure. I could imagine that with good road conditions in other countries, 16's would have been a good OEM size. Good grip and ABS has saved me from 3 possible accidents already.

I love the no-frills, easy-to-read dash layout and interior design. Not much clutter, big switches, nothin' to complain! I've installed a Pioneer multimedia DVD/VCD/CD system and the car's just a fantastic second home!

Overall, yes, an Accord is a good buy!!!

Toyota Camry - design leans towards middle age market
Mitsubishi Galant - space inside is just like a Civic's though it is sportier
Nissan Cefiro/Infiniti I30-Asia equivalent - Honda has better resale and overall service
Volks Passat - much plainer design and a bit pricier

Model Reviewed: Honda Accord 25th Anniversary

Strength:

Reliability! reliability! reliability!

Weakness:

Some recalls related to emission. Fixed free under warranty.

The car had been driven to the north east, (MA, NY) midwest ( OH, KS, IL,CO,at the top of Pike Peak Mountains,MT, NV Pacific nothwest CA, AZ, etc etc and back to VA. It has about 96,500 miles on it just changed the oil with synthetic and other maintenance, timing belt, water pump and other belts were changed at 85,000.OME tires were replaced at about 83,000 better than my 92 Accord tires which I replaced at 65,000.The milage it accumulated were mostly highway miles from work to home. The car is not sensational if you are looking for performance and speed. It is family car that will get you wherever you ask it to go. It has not have a brake service since I bought it maybe due to the fact that it is driven mostly on highway with less braking required. Also, I have not have an AC service with it, the AC still works fine. I might do it this summer. Overall, we are very satisfied with our 96 Accord. We expect to use it for another 100 k miles without worrying of something that may go wrong I really depend on this vehicle to save me from worries etc etc. If you are looking for a car that is not so fun to drive but can bring you wherever you want it to go with no headache, and less pain in the wallet, this is the car for you. I am thinking of purchasing another Accord when this car really can no longer go.

Honda 92 Accord LX which we own too. It has about 150,000 miles on it. Our very first car was a VW Rabbit. It overheated all the time, we were on the road with hood up several times. Then a Ford Tempo LX not really lasted because it was involved in an accident. Then there was the Plymouth Colt 86 which was purchased used 3500. That car lasted 6 months and would not run again. We did not have money at that time to fix it, so it sat on the parking lot for a year. Had it fix after that cost about 2500. It lasted about 4 months before assorted problems started again. WE WERE FED UP WITH AMERICAN CARS!!!! So, we bought our first Accord in 92 and traded the Colt Plymouth the dealer said that car is of no value. he accepted the trade for 300.00. Believe me the Accord is absolutely a "refrigerator car" because it keeps on running, no problem at all. After owning the 92 for 4 years without problems, we bought our 96 Accord.

Model Reviewed: Accord 3.0 Vtec V-6 200hp

Strength:

MY Accord really isn't that fast have 5-speed manual and i lost to two of my friends cars at the same time.
"00 Hyundai Tiburon Cpe, 2.0l 170hp 148trq with upgraded a-market parts".
"94 Mazda Protege LX, 1.8l 165hp 152trq with upgraded aftermarket parts".
The Accord stock has more hp and trq and cant even beat them on the start and the long run.

Weakness:

Damm Honda needs to get rid of there governer chip that's shutsdown at 112mph, that makes me mad.

I like the fact that it's reliable on gas and on road trips sometimes. But most of all i like the interior just hate the Chip, need to get rid of that thing it really SUCKS.... well Honda was a good choice in some different ways. Everybody has there own opinion and some don't like what they see. Honda was not a bad quality just it wasn't sporty enough for the Vtec V6 engine with 5-speed manual i'm not looking for a speed racer car just enough power to move in and out of traffic and other peoples ways.

Model Reviewed: /EX 4cyl auto

Strength:

Fine ergonomics, smooth ride, low maintenance costs, comfortable seats. It's been a fairly durable car for the 60k miles I've driven it.

Weakness:

Practically nonexistent low-end torque, exasperating auto. trans (abrupt and poorly timed shifts), ineffective air-con, lots of interior buzzes and rattles, some interior parts have worn out rather quickly.
Also, this car is exceedingly boring and not very engaging as a driver's car (lots of body lean when cornering, for instance).

A decent family sedan, epitome of the "auto as an appliance". There's nothing particularly great about the Accord, but then there are no major flaws, either- especially if you equip it with a manual transmission (which incidentally is only available on 4 cyl. models). Quite painless to own, but look elsewhere if you seek style, character, or driving excitement in an automobile.

Similar Products Used:

95 Mercury Sable- another boring, insipid car with many of the same strengths and weaknesses. The Sable (with a 3l V6) has better low end response, sharper handling, and a better A/C than my Accord though, but its ride is less compliant and interior fit and finish is lackluster compared with the Accord's.

Model Reviewed: Accord LX 4dr sedan

Strength:

overall finish, handles great, great acceleration compare to similar models, pimpable!

Weakness:

For some reason I get 28 mpg, should be around low 30s; biger, wider tires would have been nicer!! may be a bit taller bumpers.

I got a really good deal on this car. 5 grand with only 46k miles on it! Runs great! always fun to drive. Installed Neuspeed springs to lower it 1.8 inches and now corners even better (ride's not smooth anymore though!). I really like the interior even compare to new cars. Lot of head room and when you sit down dash is not in your face like some Toyotas. comfortable seats and quality interior. Wish I got this car brand new!!!!!

Strength:

Strong engine, interior is comfortable and enlightening, nice exterior curves and lines, Decent leg and head room, helpful gadgets (volume control on steering wheel, garage door opener, great on gas! gages are nice size, good trunk space.

Weakness:

gas indicator goes to 3/4 when full, seats more adjustable, shifting is ackward at times (doesn't know if it wants high or low), when resuming my cruise control, the engine revs really high to get back up to speed. Should be alittle smoother. Also, cd can be alittle better. (more pwr)

My Accord is awesome! It feels safe, it's solid. I have owned several other Honda cars and was totally pleased. I sat in a LEXUS GS on the lot, comparing features. Sure the Honda was out classed, but it wasn't far behind! And it's 12 G's cheaper. The engine is really strong, 200 horses!
I can go when I need to go! Not to mention the resale value, honda's get top dollar. This is a family car that you can race. How great is that! This is a strong buy, no doubt!

I've driven the Grand Am before, it's strong. But, (you know that was coming) it lacks refinement, there is nothing classy or elegent about the Grand Am. The Accord is the total package! Also, have driven the Camry, it's not sporty enough and the price tag for a V-6 is crazy. I think all these cars are nice, but Honda puts it all together in one package.

Weakness:

16" wheels could be better, long throw shifter, everybody drives an accord, my neighbor has one, my co-worker has one, my friend drives one.....

2001 Honda Accord EX Cpe. Paid $100.00 over invoice early this year. Could have gotten a V6 domestic for the price but I think it's worth it considering all the strengths this car has.
