EX-V6
Strength:
Reliability, handling, comfort. This is one of the nicest cars I have ever driven or ridden in that is under 35-40K. Nice option package for the price.
Weakness:
Have no real complaints as of yet. Gas mileage is not quite as good as I would have expected, but if not for a very hot summer so far, we would not be using the A/C as much. Excellent handling, ride and comfort. Nice power from V6. The car just seems more sturdy and better built than our previous car, 97 Grand Am. We initially were looking at the Maxima, but we went with the Accord EX-V6 and got leather, climate control, power sunroof, in-cabin filter, etc. for over $5000 less than what the Maxima would have cost. I do wish the Accord came standard with fog lights, but that was not an issue. The Accord does not have quite as much pick up as the Maxima, but also not a real issue in a family car. The 200hp V6 does the job. Even though this is definately not an attention getting vehicle, I am still very happy. Overall, I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a nice, reliable, value-based family car. If the service department treats us as well as the rest of the dealership has, we will definately be repeat Honda buyers. Similar Products Used: Pontiac 95 Grand Prix, 97 Grand Am, 89 Olds Cutlass. Definately better than any of these. The Grand Prix would come the closest, but the Honda is by far a much better built vehicle. |

Accord EX Coupe
Strength:
The looks are what make this car. It also has great speed. I put alittle NOS and got the 1/4 mile down to 15sec. Very easy to fix almost any problem.
Weakness:
OF course you have heard all these before. Cruise Control stops working, Lighter stops working, Att doesn't go up, door handles break. All of these are easy to fix. Other then these minor problems everything is great. I love this car. Its been overall great to me. I have only had a few of the common problems that everyone else has. The car is pretty quick for a 4cyl. 1/4 mile in 17sec. However for a 2.2L I would expect more. The 5spd trany makes it much more fun to drive. Very easy to make it look Euro! Clear lights, decals.. Car is still running strong. Everything major is still working. I willing have this car for a while longer and i expect to buy another Accord in the future. Similar Products Used: I had a 1994 Dodge Intrepid before this. I hated the car! It had a 3.5L V6 and the Accord could keep up with it. I had many problem mechnical wise with the car. I will never buy a US car again. They are all JUNK! |

Accord EX Coupe V6
Strength:
interior, exterior styling. cabin space (all my friends are impressed with the size of the front and back seat legroom for a coupe!). honda certified used car(150 point inspection meeting 'as new' specifications with 12 months warranty). Very luxurious feeling for the price!
Weakness:
Hmmmm.... I feel bad driving so fast all the time... I resent it because it made me choose 'it' over my SUV! haha. Very beautiful car. I love the NSX inspired tail lights. The San Marino Red makes most other red car colors look dull when they're side-by-side. Traded in my 94 4Runner because of the horrible gas mileage and it had absolutely no power! I literally could go up even mildly steep hills faster than 60mph in that SUV. I miss the cargo room of the SUV, but the V6 200HP makes driving the coupe a pleasure! I think this coupe is good for someone who wants a practical car but still wants to look cool cruising around town. Similar Products Used: None |

4cyl VTEC, decent power for a 4 cyl, comfortable ride
Weakness:
Funny shifting in the transmission, and after reading reviews on this car, with all the transmission failures, I`M SCARED!!.I have 29,000mi.and a fresh 3 yr. warranty(thank god!) first impresssion was, what a beautiful car, great styling, although I thought my 92 accords interior was better quality. Great power for a 4 banger Similar Products Used: Previous vehicle was a 92 accord lx, although the 98 has much more power, I felt more comfortable about the reliability of the 92. I hope I`m wrong. |

Accord 4cyl/EX w/ Leather
Strength:
All the power options. The interior is beautiful. I had the leather installed as part of the deal along with wood trim. I still have the Lo-Jack too! The 17" rims make the car stand out of the Accord crowd. The wing sets it off too. The 7 year/100k mile warranty hasn't been needed...yet!
Weakness:
I'm getting a little bummed out about the low power (150hp/4 cyl). Maybe I should've gotten the 6 cyl. The manual transmission is probably better than the automatic but it doesn't work well with the engine. The shift throws are long. Ultimately, if you want a powerful car and good off the line, don't buy this car. This is a family car. No torque what so ever. This is a follow up on the brand new car I purchased in February of this year: Similar Products Used: I test drove both the 2001 Jetta 1.8t and the VR6. The 1.8t was smaller but looked more regal. It had so-so power compareable to the 4cyl Accord. The VR6 was a powerhouse. It ran well and had the leather and power features I was looking for. The turn offs were the price, short 2yr/24mo warranty and the complaints against VW for their terrible reliability and Mexican quality. It was a great car that day but I'm not risking $23k plus for a car that VW wouldn't take responsibility for. As a side bar: I test drove the 2001 Jetta 1.8t Wolfsburg edition in Oceanside. I told the dealer I wanted a VR6 and was just comparing the two. I really like the power in the VR6 and the dealer told me to buy the base Jetta and buy a chip which would give me 220hp. I askd if it would void the warranty as I have been told by the Riverside Metro VW dealer in terms of the 1.8t. He said the chip "shouldn't" void the warranty. I think he was trying to just get me to buy anything. So be warned! |

Great Gas milage, great looking
Weakness:
worthless transmission, numerous rattles, brake problem. basically, im not quite sure how i feel yet. I love the way the car looks and handels, but there have been some problems. I drove it cross country - alone and didn't have any problems. Today its in the shop - two trasmission seals broke. I got it certified - the rotors need to be cut. I fired off a complaint letter to honda. THere are a few endless rattles in the heat. Pick up is kinda shity, shifting is rough. ill let everyone know how everything with my letter goes. |
