Strength:

good gas mileage in the city the back window goes down no roof on nice days

Weakness:

i only get about 26 mpg on the long freeway trips going 80 ( i have an auto) the roof leaks when it rains a bunch mine smokes ALOT when i step on if, it's hard to look cool when your car burns oil like a deep-fryer

I love my del sol. it is the best of the import cars out there. i go to a university that has 25,000 people and there is only 3 del sols. i love the aux. lights that i can turn on or off when i want. it a great car to go out on the town in, my girlfriend loves it. i can't wait to put in all the aftermarket things like a tanabe rm exhaust, dc headers, high flow cat and the list goes on you can find any thing for this car and do it in style

-Door handles break easly -Black Paint was stripping because of the sun

I bought this car when I turned 18 to have something to take me to college. It had its minor problems that probably carried over from the previous owner, but once i fixed everything in the first ear the car ran like a dream.

Strength:

Like any civic type car it easy to find all the assesories you want like rims, fenders, light. So its real easy to customize and make it your own.

Weakness:

The only problem I have is when it comes to finding performance engine parts for my 1.5l. type S. All the parts that i can find go with the SI (SOHC V-tec) or the V-tec (DOHC V-tec) If someone finds 1.5l performance engine parts. PLease E-mail me

My del sol has been a kick ass ride since I got it. Its only got the 1.5l but with an arospeed intake, perfomance exshaust, arospeed 52" mid wing, lightning graphics, an all out sea of blue neon lights, and a sound system that you can hear from the next town. Its definitly show quality.

VTEC 160hp motor is what makes this car alive. Removable top slides right into the trunk, great idea. Its a 2-seater, plenty of room in the cockpit. Nice acceleration, ok torque. Rear window goes down, great idea

Weakness:

No trunk release. Didnt come in a turbocharged version. No six-speed. Needs more interior styling. Not over 200hp. No rear wheel drive version. Bad blind spot for the beginner driver.

Great car for the price. Beautiful design, maybe a little feminine, but still nice. Great V-TEC 160hp motor. I love the acceleration. Could have used some interior designing but neverthless, a fun car to drive.

Strength:

go cart like handling, a wrap around interior that doesnt allow you to move in hard cornering, quick shifting, fast acceloration, easy maintenance and a spacious cabin and trunk area are only a few joys that come to mind with this car.

Weakness:

junky cup holders! you have to be atleast 6'5" for the miniature sun visors to work properly. no easy access to the trunk. suspension tends to roll abit during hard cornering, and to a timid driver the monsterous blind spot could cause and issue.

ok, i have a 93 del sol s. with a 1.5 and my friend has a 94 del sol s. with a 1.6. they both red line at 6400 rpm's so i take it they're not VTEC motors. now im confused as to what these cars came with for options. i thought the 1.5 was 106 hp and the 1.6 was 127 hp (non vtec) then the si was a dohc 1.6 vtec with 160 but iv heard lots of different story's (such as 2 vtec motors) and (a/c, pl, cc, and power steering) coming with the non si models. if at all posible can someone out there set the story straight for me!? e-mail me i you have any advice to give

Strength:

Fun, kinda fast, easier to park than a golf cart, and Grrreat on the pocket in the fuel department.

Weakness:

I think it's a "girly" car. that's it!!

I have never owned a small car like the del Sol. So being new to the market I checked all the reviews that I could find so I could make an educated decision on the particular vehicle. I found a few things that caught my attention. 1- roof rattle 2- water leakage and 3- the timing belt being worn out that has a 50% chance of causing engine failure. There are probably more but I found those 3 and only 3 that’s pretty good. I went to look at the car armed with these said problems. It had 163,500 miles on it. I found no problems at all. So far I’m getting 30 mpg that’s with dirty injectors and a heavy right foot.
