Strength:

nice rpm range and stong vtec power at 5000rpm

Weakness:

I have a problem once in a while with the rev limiter. What it does is sometimes only in first gear, the rev limiter will kick in at 6500rpm and after first i can redline.

I love this car, Its fast and sounds like a beast at vtec and theres plenty of aftermarket parts you can get. I plan on gettin a t4 turbo next year. My first mod was a short ram intake and that made my car scream, specially at vtec.

good tourque for a four cylinder and the dash is nice

no back seat to carry friends

I got this car from a Vietnamese guy who sold it to me for less than book value. I figured that 3 months down the road the car would fall apart but it didnt. I put new spark plugs and had a really good tune up done and i got so much power back. i have raced tons of cars and only lost to few. All other hondas and acuras except for RSX i have beaten. Here is my kill list: other preludes 1991 Rx-7 Mustangs my friends modded GSR civics (eat em for breakfast) 2000 civic Si (was a good race) cavaliers Ford Probe GT

Strength:

Reliable, nice looking body, quick, fun to drive

Weakness:

No cupholders in the 1992 & 1993 models, no console or glove box either! Shifts slow.

This car is so fun to drive, it turns heads too. It's quick, slick, & sporty. But I have had problems with the rotors, they keep warping (I think it's common on all Hondas) the interior electric system is weird, the dash lights & dome light work when they feel like it. Everything else is pretty cool. It's a very attractive car, especially with accessories (lights, tint, spoiler)

Strength:

High performer, even though it has just a 160HP engine. Comfortable to drive. I drove 17 hours from D.C. to New Orleans and at the end, still felt I could drive some more. The looks are unique... Somehow hitting a sweetspot in visual candy. New cars just don't look as nice as this one does/did. Despite the high RPMs (3750 at 70MPH in 5th gear) it's very quiet when cruising. RELIABLE!!!

Weakness:

Small. Not for four adults to ride in, but rather two adults and two (very) small children. With the front seats all the way up, a normal sized adult would have to put their feet under the seat, with heels backed all the way up. Due to the way the transmission is geared, gas mileage is low for a four cylinder, but that's okay because it moves as though it has a V6 under the hood.

130,000+ miles on it, and it performs slightly better than when I got it at 60,000 miles. The only repair I've done on it, was the sunroof was rattling, and it was $120 to get it fixed. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Comfy seats, lots a' tourqe.

Weakness:

no view out rear window.

I love this car. It gets up and go's whenever I need it to. I raced a 90 CRX and beat him by a longshot. The gears are set high so when I get up in RPM it really get up. I wouldn't trade this car for any.

crappy auto trannies

I was really really impressed with it's performance, factory sound system and other things in it... ESPECIALLY the really nice V-Tec. After about 6 months of driving it tho.. my transmission broke, and i got another one.. that one of course, broke after 3 months... After that I rebuilt that one and sold it. I then talked to a guy that knows quite a bit about hondas, and he said that the Prelude Tiptronic transmission is really really bad, and if u race it will give out and break... something inside the tranny.. i forgot what he said, im not into mechanics... anyway . DONT buy a Semiautomatic / sportronic/ tiptronic Prelude

200 hp Almost 100hp/per liter 4 cyclinder naturally aspirated engine race suspension awesome sound system

Weakness:

not cheap slow off the line limited aftermarket parts expensive afermarket parts No leather seats for the Type-SH Extremely heavy for a non-turbo sport compact car weighing in at 3,100+ ilbs.

This car is the best compact car Honda had in the late 90's. It has great handling, moderate acceleration, and awesome looks. It takes a while to get used to, but this is sporty without the luxury. Leather seats aren't a option for this car. In fact, there aren't many options available. I paid $28,000 for the base model, factory body kit, factory spoiler, carbon fiber dash, undercoat, warranty, and factory alarm. But cars will eventually get faster, better, and cheaper for it's value. For example, Mitsu's EVO VIII, and Subaru's WRX/STI. Both are around $30,000. The same price if you were to modify the prelude to similiar specs of the EVO and WRX. But that doesnt necessarily mean that to can keep up with those cars.

Strength:

Once you are in the high rpms you feel a rush undescribed because that is when the v-tech kicks in. awesome acceleration it just wants to go fast it has an impressive 0-60 in 7.0 sec and 1/4 mile 15.4 sec pretty impressive for a 4 bangger wouldnt you say. There are endless numbers of after market parts for this car.

Weakness:

The get up to 5000 rpm when the v-tech kicks in seems to take a life time

The car has one of the best handling that i have ever driven.
