Strength:

Excellent performance, gas mileage, and reliability. Looks great too.

Weakness:

A bit tight inside. I am 6'2" so it is a bit cramped for me, but it is my wife's car. The trunk is a bit small as well, but it is a sports car.

I bought my 1997 Honda Prelude (base), automatic with 55,000 miles on it. It has never been to the shop in it's life besides having the timing belt/water pump changed at 90,000 miles. It has been great. 95,000 miles and still running just like new.

30,000 to 50,000 miles on brand new moter the transmission is rebuilt when the moter was replaced.

Weakness:

body has some surface rust and the car has sat for a short period of time needs a little TLC.

very nice driving fast handles really well. This car is really fun to drive it has duel cvc sidedraft carberators on a 2.0 V-TEC engine almost ready to race.

Strength:

Chicks dig em Engine sounds burly for a 4-cyl Lots of wheel-spinning torque Close gearing=fast acceleration Lots of room in the front Turning characteristics

Weakness:

Insurance is too high Lots of mechanical problems for a honda Close gearing+2.3L=bad gas mileage (low 20's) Every punk with a civic or integra wants to race. Too much fun to drive=tickets=high insurance

This is a great car, Everyone notices the unique dashboard first. The non-vtec 2.3 liter has tons of torque for a 4-cylinder and puts most of the other acuras and hondas in the rearview mirror. The 4-wheel disc antilock brakes are really nice. The cable acutated shift linkages are ok, but the acura gsr is better. 4-wheel steering is interesting to drive, you turn more than you think you are turning in a parking lot, and at high speeds, changing lanes and cornering are really stable. The 205 wide tires stick pretty for a honda. Backseat is a joke. Sound system (speakers) sounds really good for stock, and really really really good for a stock 92 honda. Insurance is insanely high. I'm switching to a porsche 944.

Strength:

VTEC speed, this car ALWAYS turns heads! Love the alloy wheels and stereo system too.

Weakness:

Slow off the line

I had a Celica before I got my Prelude. I got it brand new and it is such a SWEET car! Much faster than the Celica. You have to wait till the VTEC kicks in to really feel it (don't worry you'll hear it kick in)!

Model Reviewed: Prelude Vtech

Strength:

Great acceleration, spectacular pick up with the Vtech pick up, nice handling, sporty but a bit of a sleeper if you aren't familiar with them.

Weakness:

very tight quarters in the back seat, and again as with all Preludes best for shorter people.

Great pick-up at 5000 rpms (that'd be the vtech kicking in) Very comfy for the driver and passenger, but as usual tight back seat. Handling is great unless you've driven the 90 si, then you know real handling.

Strength:

*Decent speed *VTEC *Cool looking dash *Handles GREAT *Easily modified

Weakness:

*Decent speed *Small backseat

This car is AMAZING. Its got some giddy up and once u hit the VTEC its off to the races baby. Car handles like a dream and runs smooth as hell! Im planning on putting a Cold Air Intake, DC Sport headers, and a new Cat-back exhaust system on her. Shes got a VTEC controller and i moved the VTEC to 3.5k. For anyone reading this they better know wat VTEC is. Id recommend this car to anyone. With a new clutch it makes it all the more enjoyable.

Weakness:

None.

With its 200hp 2.2L engine, the Prelude is among one of the fastest cars around.

Strong engine. Easy to work with. Good handling. Sporty. Clean design. Quick. All the necessary acessories. Stong structure. Awesome stock stereo sound.

Weakness:

Could use more HP, but it's a good car to customize your HP needs.

Awesome car. Always makes heads turn.

Model Reviewed: Prelude Type S

Strength:

2.2 liter Vtech great for beating cars that top out after 5000 rpms, Handling- major improvment(esp type SH) Body is much sleeker, sport shift on the AT is a plus (if you know how to use it) and if you disagree cuz you dropped your transmission out of your car cuz of it. then you don't know how to use it. major strength- the headers on the exhaust are made by DC Sports and put on the car stock. 6 speaker component system-nice addition. bigger back seat than the last one- only a foot but you take what you get

Weakness:

major weekness - what happened to the digital dash and the trademark gauges. the 92-96 have a wraparound dash with digital gauges. pick up is not as good off the line untill you hit 5000 rpms(when you hit Vtech) and on the MT the clutch is softer( doesnt catch as good) another somewhat weekness if you want performace out of your car and not so much good milage and taking it easy, is OBD2 (chip in the comp that detunes performance parts, changes air/fuel ratios and things like that to give you better gas milage)

Overall Great car. Major improvments on the engine and insides and major disapointments. Im a previous owner of a 95 Prelude SI (4th Generation).overall they are pretty much the same car as far as functions and alot of the parts are interchangable
