Model Reviewed: Prelude Si 2.0 5spd

Strength:

great suspension, super strong motor, very very QUICK for a 2.0 4 cyl, i will agree it does need to sit on some agressive tread or the suspension is worthless, sun roof is totally awesome, my antenna too has shot craps, umm...stock 140 horses is plent for the "heavy" car more would be better but is great with what it has, Transmission is strong (5 spd) and i do drive hard...had it for about a month and havent lost a race yet...my kills are as follows
- 2000 S10 extreme
- 92 Z28 Camaro Lt1 vett motor
- 98 Eclipse (Smoked em'!!!)
- 98 Neon (no challenge)
92 (i think) Mazda Miata
More to come....i hope

Weakness:

not a single one

All i can say is wow...all my friend joke about Jap Crap but when it comes to the race whos got the stuff...my honda does. Never again will I own an american car. them japs no there stuff when it comes to the car. Handles great, VERY fast especially for a 4 cyl. everyone sayd they have had problems with rust but mine barely has any and its the original paint. My car has 155,000 miles on it and it still runs string, uses no oil and still gets 25-30 mpg

Strength:

Good handling. Strong chasis. Good engine. Comfortable for a sporty Honda.

Weakness:

Not made for pushing around on the track. Engine needs an oil cooler to live up to its high reving tendency. Lack of headroom. You can also throw the factory tires into trash.

I have always love Honda cars. This generation of Prelude feels very different from the rest of the Honda models. It is more like a touring sporty coupe than a sport car. But this does not mean it is not a good car. Within it limits, this prelude is a really civilized FF car. Steering is suprisingly sharp. Engine is rev happy and it is the BEST 4 cyclinder engine I have ever driven. Car really comes alive when it gets to 5500rpm. Ride is super also.

Similar Products Used:

There is really no direct competitor within the same price. Pricier GOLF 1.8T is too comfortable. The shifter on the GOLF is nothing compare to the one on PRELUDE. Cheaper Integra really feels cheaper, and power cannot compare to PRELUDE also unless you are driving a pricy TYPE-R.

Strength:

The Camaron SS is not even in the same category as that little Prelude piece of sh##!!!

Weakness:

Other than people with little hondas that are scared to race me there is no weakness!

hey bill sit your lil 89 honda slow lude beside my camaro ss and watch how fast i leave you behind. I would make you blow the doors off your piece of sh## taking off in 6th gear. (something your little 5 speed doesnt even have) Take your little economy family sedan and shove it up your a$$. I bet you dont even have 200 horsepower. Well I have 320 about 200 horsepower more than you. My car can go through the 1/4 mile in 14 sec. straight out of the factory. I bet I could beat you in the 1/4 mile in Reverse. If I were you I would take that little 4 cylinder piece of sh## and drive it in the river!!!!

Nothing can compare. I could beat a honda with my little bros go-kart!!

Model Reviewed: Prelude.

Strength:

It is sold as a tank. Over 250,000 miles, original motor...

Weakness:

Slow as a dead turtle. Handles like a refridgerator with wheels. Stereo isn't a standard DIN size...

It has been a good car. While not fast at all (I ran consistant 21.4s in the 1/4 mile), it doesn't handle well, but it has character. People ask me all the time if that is really a Prelude. They are usually shocked that Honda made the Prelude in 1979...

Model Reviewed: Honda Prelude Si 2.0

Strength:

Handling is superb, better than any American car could ever wish to endow
The car's styling was way ahead of its time, which makes it a real pleasure to drive, even 12 years after it was sold, you can't say that about many other cars can you? The car has all the controls right where they should be. The gas mileage is just incredibly great, and the car will take of you if you take care of it.

Weakness:

NOTHING

The car has 150,000 miles on it and runs as good as when it rolled off the showroom floor. The power is awesome, and that is due to the very well designed engine that Honda engineered. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH A PRELUDE!

Fords, Saturns, GMC all suck. Don't buy American crap.

Model Reviewed: , Prelude SI

Strength:

Great handling, FAST (if you know how to push the accelerator), and very reliable. Never had a problem that $100 couldn't fix.

Weakness:

The brakes are too small for the car. That is why I just keep my foot on the gas.... Why brake??? Who needs brakes when you are racing.... right?

First of all, to all those who think they can beat my Prelude, please, by all means try. There has only been one, yes I said ONE car that beat my car. And that was another 1992 Prelude SI with NO2. Maybe it is the driver, maybe it is the car but I would never think of trading this car in. I will run it until it dies, which will probably be 200,000 miles after all your engines blow up. I've always been a Honda girl and no other car will ever change my mind.

Similar Products Used:

I had owned/driven other Hondas, '89 civic, '93 Accord, '00 civic SI, '99 Prelude, '01 Accord and my 1992 Prelude... all of these are better than the American pieces of crap I have owned/driven. The main difference is the handling... if you know how to drive, you will be able to stay on the road under any condition... American cars, I can't say the same for.

Model Reviewed: /Prelude 2.2vtec

Strength:

The DOHC VTEC engine is the best quality. The suspension, its tight, not too much roll. The car sound GREAT.

Weakness:

If you are not carefull about how you dirve, you can eat through a lot of gas. If you live in California you run the risk of coming back to you car in a parking lot, and it is gone. (2nd most stollen car in Cali)

The Honda Prelude is truly a joy to drive. With its high reving, torquey, 2.2 litre vtec motor, agile corner ability it is a formitable car for your average man or woman seeking a fairly inexpensive sports car. I bought my Prelude used in Sacramento. When my car was stock it was the best thing since sliced bread, since the last car I had was a bucket Saturn. The greatest thing about these cars is the suspension. If you plan on getting an aftermarket suspension system, more power to you, I have got Ground Control springs (Eibach) on Tokico shocks. If you don't plan on doing that, you have got a great stock suspension system that will handle like a -true- sports car. (my car: JDM -japanise domestic market- 2.2L DOHC VTEC motor, prelude type-R cams, ACT sport clutch, JDM header, HKS intake, DC sport exhaust system, Eibach ground control springs, Tokico shocks, A'Pex-i VAFC vtec controler)
If you are looking for a commuter car, a prelude is a waist of you money, buy something cheaper. If you like to drive, if you want something to get you to and from in style (or quickly) take a look at a prelude.

The prelude has a much better ride than the integra (ls, gs, gsr, not type-r)

Strength:

Interior design
Girl attraction
Handling
Looks

Weakness:

Not enough low down power
Brake discs look too small

I've got a 1989 Prelude that I've had for a few months now. I paid about $11000 Aus for it (which I guess might be around $6000 US).
It handles really well and I kick nearly every car i've raced including my friend's 6-cylinder 2.5 litre BMW 325i!
Being only a 2 litre engine there is no low down power, so traffic lights give you the s&*ts, but once its going it drives really well.
Handling is awesome, and I have two friends with the same car who agree.
Mine has 17inch BSA racing rims and high performance directional tyres, tinted windows, spoiler and a few minor modifications, but I have many more plans for it

Similar Products Used:

I've driven Celica's, BMWs, Holden Calais, Toyota Corollas and a few other cars.
I love my Prelude, nothing drives and handles better

Strength:

great handling and fast.

Weakness:

marc, your camaro SS got a six speed, SO WHAT? did u try your top speed ??
i'm sure that u will not use your 6th gear. Actually, u won't even get to 6000 rpm on 5th gear and your tank will have no more power to speed up, and the speed is 255km/h. You should ask yourself why there is a 6th gear on your car. Let me give u the answer. Your SS is eatting u too much gas without having a useless 6th gear. Sorry... that is not useless because that can save u $$$ but I'm sure u still need a lot of money to feed your tank while we use the money to modify our cars to be faster than yours.
