Looks nice....thats about it.

Weakness:

Everything. Blind spots, electrical system, poor quality, etc etc etc

I HATE HATE HATE THIS CAR!!!!!!!! I have had nothing but problems with it. My sunroof has broken 4 times and now it has broken again and my window has broken twice. My heating and cooling system sucks to the tenth degree as well. Doesnt stay cold, and doesnt stay warm. And the service department...let me tell you.......those people have no clue how to fix a car. i brought it in telling them something doesnt work right, they say its fine, a week later my car has to be flat bedded in due to the problem I had told them I was having. Turns out my thermostat got stuck and my lower radiator hose exploded. Nice for a 2003. So to the fine people at Hyundai, thank you for putting such a royal piece of garbage out on the market.

Great speed for the price. The curves on the body are my fav.

Weakness:

blindspots, wierd smell when a/c is on, rattling noise in the interior at times

I Love the fact that it's a sporty look for a cheap price. Love the mud guards, the alloy rims, sun roof, CD & cassette player, leather interior, spoiler...and the SPEED! Defenitley not for first time drivers. Smooth ride most of the time, great handling all around

Great power. Good handling and braking. Nice stock stero. And just and all around great sports car

Weakness:

Sometimes gives off a bad smell when you accelerate quickly, Some rattling from stero when cranked up.

I just bought my Hyundai Tiburon and i love it. For about the same price as a Mustang, Celica, or any other decent sports car i have found to be more attactive and faster than most. I have the GT V6 automatic with shiftronic and it halls but. I've acutally beaten a 2001 Honda Prelude that had 30 horses on me. I was at 150 and he was at 135 when we reached are finish point. The car has great responsive handling especailly on corners. The brakes are very good but senstive so it takes some time to get used to. Good stock sound system and nice panel configuration.

Model Reviewed: Hyundai Tiburon V4 (Automatic)

Strength:

Looks is the highest on the list. I've even fielded a complement from a guy sitting in a high-end, brand new Mercedes sport coupe at a stoplight no less, as well as the general masses. The look of surprise when the realize it's a Hyundai is priceless. Power is also very good considering it's a V4 automatic; 0-55 in 9.2 seconds (using Shiftronic). Again, if you're of the racer lineage, you may want to opt for the V6, but for us normal folk, that kind of acceleration will ellicit no complaints. Heed this advice; watch your speed when on the open road, because the Tiburon will soar past 80 before you even know it. Indulging once in a race with a friend, I was able to prove to myself that my Tiburon can more than hold it's own against a Celica. The ride is quiet and comfortable, and the responsiveness is nothing to sneeze at; it's actually saved my bacon from an accident once, allowing me to avoid a pileup. The Tiburon grips the road tenaciouly, taking corners at twice the speed posted without protest. Stock sound system is excellent. Needless to say, the warranty that comes with a Hyundai also is a strength. note - if in Northern California, I would highly recommend Doten Hyundai Automotive as the place to buy. Their staff is of the highest caliber, conscientious of the customer's needs and desires, and top-notch even after the sale (seek out Karen if you can).

Weakness:

The back seats are anything but that. True to many reviews, that space is better used for storage of items that carriage of people. Then again, I didn't buy this car with the illusion of carrying a family - it's a sports car, meant for fun.

The Tiburon is a blast for those on a budget... or maybe even for those not on one. This car handles great, possesses good performance (great if you can afford the V6), and turns heads left and right. It is, in my humble opinion, proof that Hyundai has finally come into it's own.

Hyundai has come a long way. My last car was a 2000 Elantra GLS, which I parted with with great reverence: 155,000 miles in a little less than four years, with the clutch being the only major item changed at 120,000 miles. Beat that!

Power when you need it, like getting through a yellow light. Good, comfortable seats.

Weakness:

40-70 Acceleration slow. Slow 0-60. A staggering 7.1 seconds, which I have yet to experience even when I try. No modifications permitted. Annoying acceleration when you slightly touch accelerator. Jumps alot.

Got this for 17500 in June 2003. Only have 4000 miles on it, trunk release went within weeks, headlight has condensation. Now transmission fluid just magically disappears, and I have to keep addding new fluid. What do you know, it's in the shop now, a dur.

Strength:

-Great Power -Great Stereo -Sporty -Affordable -Great Warranty (forget the extended, not worth it) -Fun to Drive -Looks like its worth more then ya paid =) -Great Gas Mileage

Weakness:

-Smell -Not recomended for new drivers, they will want to (and be able to) do some crazy things with its speed and power. -Slight Rattling -Bumpy Ride

I purchased the V6 Tib April of 2003, and dont ever let them get you for over the invoice price of 16,347. Trust me, persue that price, and you will get it (in NY atleast). Anyway, I have tested this vehicle fairly well, cornering, braking, accelerating (no I dont work for anyone, I just like to push a car to its limits). Here is what I've learned: 1) The car is quick, sometimes even when ya dont want it, so you unexpectedly peel out. 2) Brakes are the noisiest in the rain, but seem to stop the car at about the same rate ragardless of some squealing. 3) I dont know what causes this, but every now an then, this car just lets out a smell. Im at the 14K point, and still smells like its burning something off during extended drives, or slight accelrating bursts. 4) Its a fun car to drive, just dont expext it to be big. Also, as far as interior, plan on hitting your butt on the seat every time you sit in it (and be prepared for the leather to wear in that spot). 5) Stock stereo system, not bad at all. Dont expect to win a Radio War with the guy with 4 12's, but definately sufficient for someone who isnt putting a stereo in right away. 6) Great on gas, I get 30 MPG even though it stated 26 highway (I drive the automatic dont forget) 7) Finally, despite the stiff suspension, tight steering wheel when accelerating (which I like, keeps me going straight), and perhaps a little too much rattling when the stereo's bass is turned up, its a great purchase at $16,500. HOWEVER!!! If you are tricked into paying anything over $17,000 w/ raised body colored spoiler, mud guards, anda f ull tank of gas, then you are being suckered. Forget the sticker of $18,900. The base model V6 GT with low spoiler and mud gaurds shold only cost $16,347, I have the invoice, trust me. LEts not forget also, they pay less then invoice for buying in large numbers, so to get the invoice price is the least they can do.

After the clutch problems we have experienced, I can't think of one!

Weakness:

Clutch problems with lousy warranties

This car has been a nightmare. We purchased the car as a dealer demo with 22,000 miles on it. We were attracted to its looks plus the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty and 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. We too, have had the clutch go out after driving it 5,000 miles! We, too, were told that the clutch was not covered and given a quote of $1700 to have it fixed. What a crock! We have already replaced the alternator and battery (cheaper items) on the warranty. We feel ripped off after putting $3,000 down and five payments of $270. Plus we are now horrified to find out about the widespread problem of faulty clutch systems on Hyundais! Check out for yourself by typing "2003 Hyundai Tiburon clutch problems" on an internet search engine. You won't want to buy one!

Clutch has burned out twice and going on a 3rd time in 30,000 (every 10,000 exactly) Windshield wipers broke Back lock works/dosn't work intermittently Tires had to be replaced at 20,000 This is all on 8 month old 2003 car!

When my beloved Toyota Celica was totalled due to someone runnng a red light I got my 2003 Tiburon. I loved it, it looked more like my '95 celica than the new ones (ugly). I really loved my tuburon. UNTIL at 10,000 miles my clutch went out, they replaced it "out of the goodness of their hearts" even though it wasn't covered under warranty?!? Then 20,000 clutch goes out again. This time they told me it was my fault and the time before that was too. They charged me $1,700!!!!! to fix it, I was out of state and needed to get home I had to pay. Now at 29,700 miles the clutch is about to go out again. I have driven manual trans for 20 years and have only had to replace one clutch in my beloved Celica that had 110,000 miles on it at the time. If anyone else has had this problem please email me a panic64@hotmail.com. I am not going to sit by and take this treatment while I am paying over $300 a month on this damn car!
