Model Reviewed: Tiburon GT 6-speed

Strength:

-Exterior Looks -Reliability -Interior layout and fit (gapless) -Fast and powerful Acceleration -0-60 in 7 secs (3000 lbs, 170 hp...impressive for those stats) -Relatively smooth shifting -Quiet ride at all speeds, but you can still hear the throaty V6 -Dual exhaust tips -Good Infinity stereo -Nice 17 inch rims and tires -Superb value for $20k

Weakness:

-Decent handling and steering, but could be better. -Interior quality is fine, but not great. -Shifter throws could be shorter

Last January, I purchased a 2003 Jet Black GT V6. And have been very pleased, since then. Its a fun drive with beautiful styling inside and out. Its a definite head-turner. Lots of options for the money. TONS of torque kick. Most torque in it's class, I believe. Recaro-style seats are very comfortable, not to mention, all the controls are within comfortable reach. Do not be discouraged by the name. In 2002, Hyundai was rated as the second most reliable car maker in the world. Tied with Honda, behind Toyota (most reliable). It definitely shows, I have had my Tiburon for 8 months and 15,000 miles and have had NO problems whatsoever, so far. As opposed to my last car, a Ford Contour which had several recalls and broke down once due to a dead fuel pump. All in all, the tiburon is a great value buy.

Model Reviewed: Tiburon 2.0 CVVT GLS

Strength:

I love the CVVT engine which is much more responsive than the regular 2.0 liter version. The biggest strength is the design! People can't believe it's from Hyundai. A real head-twister...I also like the interior design, the interior-material and last but not least the trunk is huge!

Weakness:

When people report about the car it is obvious that it very much depends on the version: the interior design has differences from country to country...I have still not discovered any weaknesses. Although it would be nice if the key and the remote control can be integrated into one piece. I heard that the clutch could be a problem on the V6 model. that's obvious because the high torque and the good engine let the people drive more aggressively than otherwise. So it would be better to change that clutch to a stronger and sportier one.

I really like this great looking car! After having made a lot of research I decided to buy this Hyundai, although the company was totally new to me and my friends. I think the car is massively underestimated that's why it is still so cheap. Somehow Hyundai managed to copy design elements from Audi TT, Ferrari 456 GT, Maserati 3200, Porsche 911, Ford Mondeo and so on into one very harmonic design piece.

This is the number 1 selling point why Hyundai gives you the “Best Bang for you Buck” … its the warranty!!!! With a bumper-to-bumper warranty of 6 years to 60,000 miles it’s just Top Shelf! I know I Know I have read the reason why Hyundai gives that kind of warranty is because they are always in the shop getting fixed. However think about it! That is just not good business! Think of the money Hyundai would lose if that were the case! Just because your not charged to fix something under warranty doesn’t mean that all the work gets done for free! No Hyundai pays the bill. So think of it lost of cars with lots of brake downs = LOTS OF WASTED MONEY! Now trust me on this Hyundai want to make money!

Weakness:

This may just be me but I have an automatic and I am not to crazy about the way the care feels when it shifts gears… But that’s just me… Its kind of a gas hog… and Worst of ALL look out your Insurance bill may go UP UP UP!

I Saw... I liked... So i got one... I found one that was a 2003 but it was a little used had 6000 + miles but over all it looked, drove and smelled like a new car... So far knock on wood all AOK... I turn the key i step on the gas it goes, Step on the Bracks and it stops. for the most part its just a car... But its a car I like. (GT v6 model all the Bell and whistles)

Smells when i go really fast sometimes. Wheels will bend easly if you go over a bump or pot hole, learned that already. Also my first tiburon the automatic had problems with the sunroof. The sunroof wouldnt stop leaking water into my car.

Weakness:

reliability, never buy a hyundai. Thats what all my friends told me before I purchased mine.

Cool looks and value, nice leather. Sound system rocks. I am however sooo sick and tired of taking it to the dealership to be worked on. The diverside power window has failed three times, such a pain, and several times caused me to approach the curb on the right side too close (to use ATM or ticket taker, etc) scrap up and destroyed the right side wheel. Oh and the fly wheel blew apart and they tried to say it was the clutch I "burnt up" Trunk lock fails repeatedly for some reason. Honda rules

Lots of power.... Very fast for a stock car... Great interior... Great sound... Incredible looks... Great value...

Weakness:

That I can't drive it 24/7

Overall, an unbelievable car at an even more unbelievable price. I have read many reviews about problems with the car but mine has been nothing short of superb. I have tacked on almost 9,000 miles and three months and it still drives as nice as when I got it. Stock civics, rsx's, eclipse's, and celica's cant even come close to beating my six speed manual GT V6 off the line. Not to mention that this car TURNS HEADS!!! I get complimented so much that it annoys me. The stereo offers great sound from its six speaker and sunbwoofer combo. Leather seats and chrome accents make me feel like I am not driving a hyundai...I could go on and on...

Strength:

Comfortable seating, with exterior styling that gets comments everywhere you go (wow THAT'S a hyundai?!). Smooth shifting, and great acceleration (I tend to race mine). High quality six speaker sound system w/ CD player, and from a drivers viewpoint, seems like your in a cockpit while driving. Reliable fun, for an affordable price.

Weakness:

Still trying to find one

I think the new 2003 Tiburons are great cars. I've had mine since Feb'03 and so far i've put almost 20,000 miles on it, and it's held up perfectly. Still as "sturdy" as it was new, no rattling, and absolutly no loss of performance. As far as a reliable, fun, sports car for under $20,000, i think this should be your first pick.

Strength:

1. It looks great! Stylish, sleek and a headturner (I have watched people, that's not hyperbole). 2. Great powerplant. The engine has power to spare. Keep your eyes on the speedometer if you don't want a ticket. You won't believe how quickly you get to 85mph without noticing it. The stereo is sweet, the dashlights are red and NO one passes you in 6th gear. I can't believe the car for the price.

Weakness:

I can't afford two.

This is probably the best and most fun I have ever had in an automobile. Including my 1967 Mustang convertible.

I tried Mazda, Mitsubishi, Domestic toys and I just kept going back to the Tiburon. If you aren't having fun with this car, try life support!
