Strength:

Glass is clear. Tires are round (sort of), except when they go flat, but even then, they''re only flat on the bottom. Not very heavy, when you hit something, it just bounces right off, usually vertically.

Weakness:

Lighter. Horn cuts electic power to everything else, especially engine. High maintenance costs, I thought you were only supposed to change the engine and transmission every 3000 miles on Kias.

Holy Crap, where do I start. I''ve owned it for 70 days and it''s been in the shop for 60 days. It all started when I pulled out of the dealer lot and blew a head gasket at .3 miles. I pushed it back, they replaced the engine and I drove off again only to have the transmission actually fall off. This was at 1 mile. After having it towed back again, they fixed it, but it wasn''t under warranty because I had abused it by putting it into Drive. I said OK and paid them $2,000. When I left, I had gotten about two miles when the doors fell off. I tried to duct tape them to the roof, but it was too much weight and the roof collapsed. The added weight of half a roll of duct tape caused the tires to blow and the front and rear suspension to collapse. I was beginning to have second thoughts about this car, but they assured me that these were common problems that would go away after a little driving. In the first two months, I''ve replaced the engine twice, transmission 3 times, all the body panels including roof, tires, suspension, chassis and all the glass. What really ticks me off is that the lighter has NEVER worked. I almost didn''t buy a second one to use when this one is inthe shop. But I did. IF you are going to buy a Kia, I would recommend buying 3 and getting a fleet discount. That way, you might always have one to drive when the others are in the shop.

Weakness:

I paid for a car and got a Port-a-John

This car is a complete piece of Schiesse! The a/c was a problem the fuel pump went out, the seat track broke the trans failed, the radio really stunk. The doors in the back would open into the front doors causing the rears to dent which is something the car did very easily any way. I''ve seen more valueable things floating in the toilet. This car is only suitable for use as a toilet!!!

Strength:

Good price, Good handling, Good gas milage, peppy engine.

Weakness:

LOUD INSIDE, Dealerships....all that its been to (3 or 4) have no idea how to fix the car. Many recalls. Poor choice of battery and tires. weird headlight settings.

We bought our Kia new in 1998. Its a nice car with some irritating problems. During the first year we put over 30,000 miles an the car. No major problems but many little ones. First the dealer was over an hour away from where we lived at the time. Second they were idiots and will remain so. Third they did more damage to the car than we did. Beyond that the car has worked fine. Noengine or tranny problem. The car did have problems starting in the winter but that is attributable to the 500 CCA battery that comes with the car. Replaced battery no more problems. Tires did wear out fast but they were crap any way so new tires were necessary. WE have driven the car from Indiana to Vermont at least 12 times without any problems. Currently the car has 111,000 miles and still gets 30 mpg on the highway. It has developed a rattle in the front end and the manual transmission sticks in 5th sometimes. It has lost some of its pep but will still pass well in 5th. Its a good car.... this one anyway.

Strength:

quiet running, quiet inside, acceleration, rear defroster is fast, bright headlights.

Weakness:

brakes have been cleaned and adjusted 3 times in 7 months.

I bought the car used in the summer of ''01, so far i''ve had the paint on the roof fixed and the wire harness on the passenger side fixed for the speakers. This was all covered under my 3 year/30,000 mile bumper to bumper warrantee. I''m getting the power passenger side windows fixed because of a problem caused by the mechanic. But so far this has been a great car for me. Its a great car if you maintain it like you''re supposed to. And like another review said, Its not a BMW and you get what you pay for.

Strength:

Good price, peppy and fun to drive, sporty.

Weakness:

High parts cost. i.e tune-up parts. Paint easily scratched.

I bought this car with less than 8 miles on the odometer. It is a 5 speed with air conditioning. The car now has over 67,000 miles. The dealer replaced the front brakes and rotors at 15,000. I replaced the leaking clutch master cylinder at 22,000. The check engine light came on at 30,000 and the tail light fuse blew. I had dealers in Texas and Georgia try to fix the engine and tail lights. Neither could find anything wrong. I simply replaced the tail light fuse (which has not blown since)and continued to drive with the check engine light on. Last year, with 60,000 on the odometer, I noticed a small puddle of coolant under the front passenger side. I proceeded to replace the lower radiator hose clamps. The check engine light has not come on since. I later confirmed that low coolant pressure will cause the engine light to illuminate. The service techs should have found that the hose clamps were defective when I first took the car in for repair. I don''t think the car is so much to blame for low customer satisfaction as it is the service techs'' fault. To this date, I have been the only mechanic to properly troubleshoot and fix my car. It just takes common sense and patience.

Strength:

None! Not worth of mentioning.

Weakness:

Cabin noisy when travel at high speed. Transmission jerking and nosiy when trying to pickup at low speed. Exhaust pipe is noisy too & etc. Everything are very poor!

Very lousy made korean car bought in S''pore for S$72,000 in year 2000. Petrol consumption are very high. (Full tank for 270 - 290 km) Dash board finishing are very rough. Brakes are very soft and worn off easily. Too much things to list out the faults. Now, I''m getting sick of this stupid Korean car! Lastly, my advise is "Never ever buy a Korean car" A Japanese or an European car is still far better off than them a thousand times!!!

The whole entire CAR

This car was a nightmare. I had the transmission replaced 3times, rotors replaced 3 times, starter replaced 2 times, alternator replaced, fuel pump, the list goes on and on. I finally took this car to court for Arbitration " lemon Law" and got all my money back. I then bought a Mazda, which I love and have had NO problems.

Everything was Poor.

Lousy poorly made car. In just 24000 miles it had to be towed more than 5 times. Went through 3 batteries a set of tires 2 sets of brakes and always had issues staying running at idle. Do yourself a favor buy a car not made in Korea. Even parts were hard to get and more expensive than you can imagine. Overall a complete peice of crap.

I''ve had this little car for 2 years now. I''ve had no problems yet. Maybe it comes down to how you take care of it. It''s like having a child! Clean your engine, change your fluids, just maintain it. It all comes down to how you take care of it! Get one and enjoy it.
