Strength:

Great air, and heat. Factory sound system is pretty good. Looks attractive. Drives good.

Weakness:

Lights and dash dim occasionally. Factory cd player not the best.

I have owned several vehicles over the years. I have paid much more for them to. I got my 2001 Kia Sephia S on July 4, 2002 and it was a used vehicle. It only had 5700 miles on it and I LOVE IT!! It is perfect for us. It has been a really reliable car and the air and heater are great. It's a really attractive car also. I have had just a few minor things to happen to my kia. But not enough to discourage me from enjoying the car very much. My only complaints is that everynow and then my dash lights and headlights will dim, and the factory radio isn't the best. But other than that I can't complain. I have read some of the other reviews and I think some people have the wrong idea of car trouble. Car trouble isn't when you have to replace your tires or brakes. That just means you need new tires and brakes, you probably do alot of driving. You probably need to buy a little better type of tires or brakes. Thats just maintenace on your car, not car trouble. Take care of your car and it will take care of you. Change your oil, check you antifreeze and get tune ups. Your kia will last if you don't take it for granted that it puts its own oil in. This goes for any car. Also you have to factor in what you paid for it. Are you in debt up to your neck? No, good price. Was your car used or new? IF it was used someone else might have mistreated the car. It's not always the manufactors fault. Basically, I really like my Kia. I hope others like theirs too.

Weakness:

falls apart, cheap car=cheap parts and no help from dealers

This car was the biggest p.o.s I've ever driven. It needed the computer replaced at 30,000 miles. Then at about 32000 the brakes and tranny start going. My 1994 escort had 134000 before it had probs like that. I've never been so glad to get rid of a car. You get what you pay for with kia's. Also getting the dealer to fix your kia is a real hassle. THey don't want to help you.

Strength:

Great car for its price.

Weakness:

a little more HP and power options would be nice.

all you people who complain abou this car and say it had so many problems is probably because you didnt take good care of it. Ive had this car since 1999 as the 2000 model and Ive never had any problem. It was never in the shop because of the mechanical problem. Also Ive driven so many cars in its class so i know what Im talkin about. Corolla, sentra, civic.. etc. This car is of course not the greatest but it's honestly a pretty nice car for its price. I paid little bit over 10K for this car. It has more abour 50K miles after 3 years and still no problem. Also Ive burned a 2.4L (i think... not sure) Chevy Bretta and a 2.5L Kia Optima with my 5spd sephia. Once again, this car is not the greatest but definitely a nice car for it's price. Plus, I didnt buy this car i because i was poor, but i needed a another car and it was a good price. I also have a Volvo S60.

Weakness:

Allow me to refer you to my above review.

Uh, where do I begin? My car is 6 years old and has less than 50k miles on it. However, I am on my 4th set of rotors, my dashboard is burnt and warped from the defroster because I live in a cold climate for half of the year, my entire exhaust system has rusted out from the climate... I could go on. I feel so ripped off, I bought this car brand new so that I wouldn't have problems like this. I've been told that it will cost me nearly $1,300.00 for all of the repairs my car needs. IT'S BARELY WORTH $1,800!!!! Someone needs to be held accountable for these horrible cars that people are forced to deal with everyday. You can't trade them in, because they aren't worth s%#t, you can't sell them privately, because people can go and buy a new one for cheap.. or they already know better, so you are stuck. And that SUCKS! Nice way to treat your "customers". Whatever happened to "The customer is always right"? Especially when the company is CLEARLY wrong?? And they have the audacity to send me a "Customer Loyalty" ad in the mail inviting me to buy ANOTHER KIA???

The only car I have ever had that even came close was an 89 Renault. The only reason I think it was better was because it was MUCH older and bound to have problems at that point... plus, it was French

10year 100,000 mile warranty. You are going to need it.

Weakness:

Every thing. Worse car I have ever owned. Consumer Affairs is a joke, they refuse to do anything but fix the car (doesn't seem to matter how many times you've taken it in. I'm on 7 now, but what happens when I'm on #20? Nothing, still have to take it in. NO RESALE VALUE at all. My car is only 2 years old and its only worth $3,000

Ok,I've read some of the reviews (actually over half) and I have to say that I'm sorry there are so many of you in the same position as me. I was fine with my car until I hit the 2 year mark (35,000 miles). So far its been in the shop 7 times in 3 months (its in there now as a matter of fact) and has had the following replaced: Trasmission (2 times), Transmission Control Module, Starter, 2 parts that I was never told the name, wiring harness. The check lighter comes on all the time and the transmission shifts like crap. I've tried going thru the Southern Regional office and was told all they would do is fix it. They refuse to replace or repurchase it. Now I can see why. They would go out of business if they had to do that for all of us. I will NEVER EVER buy another KIA. I have a sign in the back of my car that says "Don't buy a Kia, I wish I hadn't" I have told everyone I work with not to buy a KIA. I can only pray I will get out of this car one way or another.

Model Reviewed: Piece of Junk Kia Sephia

Strength:

This car doesn't have one strength, NOT ONE!!!!!!!

Weakness:

Ummmm....As you can see....THE WHOLE CAR!!!

WHERE DO I START?! This car is a major piece of junk! First note; DON'T EVER GET INTO ANY KIND OF AN ACCIDENT...EVER! An aluminum can has more resistance then the body of this car and there is no way those air bags are coming out. I hit a deer at 70 on the interstate head-on and neither of the air bags opened. I called the dealership and they said that the car has sensors, you would think that a 100lb deer violently slamming onto your car and up on the hood would set off a sensor. Luckily the body is so cheap that when the hood crushed like a pop can that it prevented the deer from coming through the winshield. I've had the car for 24 months and 7 days (every minut of pure regret) it has been in the shop at least 24 times, not including the two times wrecked and it took 1 1/2 months the first time and 2 months to get it fixed because parts are slow to get. Car ignition cranked (a lot) and it took the service shop 6 tries to get the right one. I thought they were supposed to know which ones where the right parts? They don't ever know what's wrong or which part to order. Oh and if something happens with the car, don't even dream your getting a rental or any assistance! I hate this car, I've it in the shop at least once every month that I've had it. I hate the dealership, I wouldn't buy any car there again because the service is very rude unless your vehicle is a $40,000 truck or you have money. So, not only do you have to deal with the stress of your garbage car being broke all the time, you have to deal with the rediculously rude service people .. THANKS! At least when the roadside assistance people knocked my window off line and broke the lock by using a slide bar to unlock the door, the dealership did repair that for free. When the tires get a little wear on them, the whole car will vibrate badly at speeds above 40mph. Go ahead and buy a few sets of the mini brake pads that fit this car and some rotors too, your going to need them. I would trade it off and take a few thousand dollars (because of the very low trade in value)in loss but no one here will take it as a trade in. I'd give it a negative five rating if I could. I'm stuck!

Too many yo mention dash melted it would not run after 69,000. Dealer could not fix, low retail value, and on and on...

Crap, worse car I have ever. Purchased it new after 69,000 it gave out, I did all maintenence on time. Not even the dealer could fix it, after 2500 dollars on repairs. Got a recall letter for some part on the gas tank. had to give away for 2,000 dollars because it will run very badly if at all. I personally will never buy a Kia again.
