N NN OOOO N NN EEEE !

This car is sweet it handles well roomy quick acceleration and it's powerful It's only a four cylinder but it has over 200 horsepower!
as soon as my dad hits the gas I'm thrown back in the seat and I wieght 153 pounds. It's good looking and for the 13 years it's been here It's works fine few parts have been replaced due to being left outside in the winter without being used but other than that it's perfect I'd definitly get one when I'm older if I get the chance althought I'd rather get an RX-7!

Strength:

Engine when mated to a standard transmission.
Precise steering, excellent handling capabilities.
Shocks impart road feel, but are not too jarring.
Excellent blend of exciting power and great gas mileage.
Engine is quiet and smooth after 115,000 miles.

Weakness:

This is not a car you want to take on dirt roads for any extensive time. It may need to be realigned afterwords. (although this happened before I had to replace most steering components)

Front Struts should be replaced at 80,000 miles (it will help avoid some of the wear issues I had on the steering system).

When changing timing belt also change cam and crankshaft seals. I didn't, and now they leak. Change timing belt religiously at 60,000 miles, and also replace the water pump at 120,000 when changing the belt to save a bundle on repair costs. Labor to change the timing belt is over $200.00. Seal repair $50.00 including labor if done at the same time, cost of water pump $75. Save some money and get this done together.

We had family cars for years. But when my son's MX-6 came up for sale my wife insisted on buying it. Glad she did. The engine on this car is incredible. It is a peppy 4 cyl with a 5 sp manual. I can get up to 80 without even knowing it. It handles canyon curves with aplomb. Downshifts are rare. And it gets great gas mileage. On the road we get 34 MPG WITH the air conditioner. In the city it never goes below 22 MPG. With this car we found out that driving could be a joy. We're going to keep this car for a long time. Cruise control is a necessity with this vehicle. It really likes to run.

Even though it's an older car, it's still stylish.

Our car has not been repair free. My wife slid on ice last winter. We had to replace struts, control arm, A arm, and wheel bearing. But both struts and strut mounts were worn out so they also got replaced. After we got it back it wobbled. We took it in to our tire dealer, and the other control arm and ball joint were bad. So I had to pay for the repair, and another alignment. We also had to replace a head gasket, and replace 2 worn tires. We spend about 3,000 on repair costs this year. Half of that was paid by insurance. Knowing what I know now would I do it again? In a heartbeat. Repairs and maintenence on a car should run about 1200 a hear. The year before I only spent $300.00 These high costs this year will more than average out. It also feels like a new car.

My wife drives this car anytime over our newer Subaru. It really does Zoom, Zoom, Zoom.

Subaru Legacy Sedan. Just as good on pavement, better on dirt roads, better shocks, higher repair costs, and gas mileage much lower.

Nissan Maxima. More power of course, larger interior space, but with a similar ride. At a much higher price tag.

Strength:

The power. The feel. The look.

Weakness:

It eats alot of gas. But thats all V6s.

The mazda mx6 is a nice car. If you like hooked up cars this is one to hook up, even though they only make one nice body kit for it. The speed is incredible, 0-60 in 7.5 seconds. Thats quick for stock. Its a nice car to pick somw women. I love my car, I haven't had any problems with it yet.

Strength:

I love the speed. I beat so many cars off the line. I love the fact that it is so different from Hondas and Acuras and so much better looking. And the fact that it is not a common car, but it still looks sweet. I haven't had any problems with the fact that it is automatic. I wanted standard but this car is so perfect I couldn't pass it up. For anyone who wants a fast, sporty and different looking car. Pay the wee bit extra and buy the Mx-6 over the Probe. So much better in so many ways.

Weakness:

My power windows make horrible squeeking noises that remind me of fingers down a chalkboard. I am not sure why it does that yet.
I can't find body kits for it.

Ever since I saw it parked on the side of a road I wanted it. I haven't regretted buying it yet. I paid $20,000 CDN for it, and added a few things to it. But it is hard to find ground effects for the Mx-6, especially in Victoria.

Strength:

All that and a bag of chips! I loved this car! It is simple, and well built.

Weakness:

The engine does not redline at top speed... IT HOLDS BACK AT 130 MPH!!!

BUY THIS CAR! I owned a 1989 Mazda MX-6. I loved it, but totaled it. Basic car with great attitude and speed. I had a stick DX (base model). I used to love to do this ... take a turn at 20 MPH, and shift into 2nd gear... Hit the gas, and feel the front end lift and pull through HARD and SMOOTH! I purchased the car when it was 10 years old... It topped out at 130 MPH!!! 4 yrears later, and after driving it hard ... top speed is 120 MPH!!! This car is teh most reliable car on the road. I got run over by a Ford Explorer, and the car was totaled, but I was not... very safe car. I put 80K miles on this car in 4 years, and it was great to the day it was totaled. Comfortable, responsive, fun to drive... timeless styling! The only thing I ever replaced on this car was the stereo, and that was to install a 6-disk changer. Even the timing belt was still good after 160,000 miles! Rock solid car!

MX-6 + MAZDA = Sports Car!!! Look This car is a GREAT! Sports car i LOVE it i mean its one of the best sports cars i ever owned and soon i will be selling it because my husband is buying a CLK which we all know is way better then the MX-6 But i have alot of stuff to say about this car ok i went through alot with this car and this car is like a little army car its really tough hehe and i dont have the V6 but i think hes very pepy for a little 4 cyl and i've gotten alot for the money { Sunroof, Cass/FM, Power Everything } And this car is really cute and its a huge shame that Mazda dropped it from the line .... Do you want to know the real reason why they dropped it out of the Mazda line? Its because the car was so cute that they were afraid they would make millions on it hehe i mean this car is really sporty it rides like its brand new and i do have alot of miles ( 78,000 ) And hes still riding in TIP TOP Condition and i've had alot of fender benders this is the part that i do not like at all of mazda i mean the bumper is really a big disapointment i mean BELIEVE me ive used the bumper many times hehe but its not only my fault ive parked in a movie parking lot and some SUV hit the front of it and it bent my hood and it was $200 to fix it and then once i was backing out and i hit someones bumper and that person had no damage but me on the other side had a bump on the huge bumper that i have which is a waste of weight on the car its really bad i mean it doesnt even protect the car in little things like fender benders but hes still ok with all those fender benders but you do know that if you have alot ( which in my case i had alot but nothing to severe like a huge accident ) the car will slowly break apart 2 weeks ago ive noticed that my door was making a loud noise when i closed it and i saw that the door was alittle out of the car when closed and when u opened it ( it would hit the cars side ) its weird to explain but it was bad and still i havnt fixed it and its getting worst but i dont care anymore hehe and now lately my sunroof has been not popping up but EVERYONE WHO HAS THAT PROBLEM Just get grease that sprays and spray the chains or whatever is on top of the car inside the sunroof when its open and then he will run fast hehe but OVERALL I LOVE THE CAR BUY IT! ITS A GREAT SPORTY CAR FOR THE MONEY!

Strength:

Great style with a rapid acceleration. to enhanse it more i have installed platium + 4's and a K&N ait filter, i plan to upgrade further. I have not had any problems with the paint, in fact it still shines like new (tip to those that do have a paint problem: dont run into things, and wash and wax it often)

Weakness:

The rough trans. (which is a problem that has plagued Mazda for years, try a MX-5 and you will feel the same jerky feel. If it really bothers you adjustments can be made to the timing belt) costly repairs are also a downside, plan on spending your deductable everytime.

This is a great car. It is my first car and has never let me down. I have 93000 miles on it and had my first major problem, water pump, only $300. The LS has every feature you can think of, a little light in the outside key hole (it can even defrost the lock), it lights up the key hole on the inside too, 2 cup holders, and great leg room and head room. (In a review before mine someone said that there was little room, he was 6'3, i am too and all you have to do is lower the seat with the controles ot the left.)My car runs great and it should keep running great.
