Strength:

speed,braking,handaling,and the sporty look.

Weakness:

The paint often fades and chips. That is easily fixed though. Other than that, this is a great car.

This is a very quick car. I was impressed with the acceleration, braking, and handeling. I love the sporty look, and the brake light in the spoiler. Overall, I have had good experience with this car, and would highly reccommend it.

Strength:

The engine, transmission/clutch, and suspension are all the original stock parts. None have needed replacement so far, and they perform at top notch. The car rides like a sports car, and there is always a good sense of control. Also, the paint hasn't rusted anywhere on the frame (except for the sunroof)

Weakness:

The power mirrors and windows are slow, the power antenna and driver's window switch broke, and the defroster for the rear windshield is failing. The car has power, but it doesn't begin to pick up its true power until around 3000 rpm. The sunroof also rusts, because water gets through the seal and becomes trapped inside.

This car was bought used, and as it turns 12 it still performs as though it were new. This car has never failed on me; it is very reliable and dependable. This car was definitely a best buy.

Similar Products Used:

My previous car was an '89 Honda Civic hatchback, with a 1.5L 4-cyl engine. That car could perform, until you hit second gear. The MX-6 makes the Civic seem like a toy--it has lots of power in any gear, and it can really perform. It is also more luxurious, yet it still maintains its sportiness.

Strength:

Looks, engine quality and reliability, speed, huge trunk space with back seat down

Weakness:

Small back seat, bad electronics (power antenna, power mirrors, etc.), bad windshield defrost

Excellent. I bought this car 3 years ago. It was obvious the previous owner kept it cherry, which is the main reason I bought it, along with only 48K miles. But it has been a revelation. The car is amazingly quick for a 4 (although 1st to second are relatively slow shifts with the automatic), and I have needed no repair service to the car whatsoever. The most reliable car I've ever owned. The bad parts are in the electronics (antenna, mirror and spoiler brake light all have gone out, and are very expensive to replace). And the trunk space for this small car is amazing. For the price, this car was a HUGE bargain. Anyone looking for an inexpensive sports car with auto transmission, and that doesn't need to fly off the line but likes to fly on the expressway, should seriously consider a V4. I hear that the tranny on these goes out prior to 100,000K, but even if it does this car was well worth the money.

Strength:

powerful and economical engine, very dynamic with 5 speed, good ergonomics, roomy trunk (fits a 6' x-mas tree with seats folded and trunk lid shut), absolutely revolutional design (for 1993), good handling

Weakness:

lack of room in the back seats

I really like the car. The only problem I'm having right now is my air bag light blinks, and my shifter makes z-z-z noise when driving.

Sound Engine,Great Handling Capabilities and impeccable styling, Generous Trunk Space.

Weakness:

Rear seats too small and seating in the rear is not for anyone over 5'10".

I have had great experiences with this car.I love this car and I would suggest anyone to buy this car,it makes a lovely 1st car.
It is fast, economical and most of all dependable and anyone who is lookin for a sportscar and does not want to spend sports car money,I would advise them to buy a MX-6.

Strength:

This is my first car and is by far very impressive. The look is what sets it apart. No ugly plastic door protector things hanging on the sides of the doors...just sleek and eegant styling to accent the quickness of the car. Front seats are by far the most comfortable I have ever sat in. They have the best support and padding on the sides. Trunk is huge...plenty of space for whatever you might use it for (luggage, subwoofers, etc.). Interior is nicely done and is definitely not plain. The car is also very quick. Doesn't have a lot of wieght to slow it down like the Preludes.

Weakness:

Mine shifts a bit hard between first and second gear (it's an automatic transmission). Back seat is a bit small but that doesn't bother me (less people to drive around). The turning radius on the car is a bit small and the handling is weak and you get a lot of body roll(you could get strut bars to fix that, though). Other than that, just simple maintenace required.

I love this car. It is so nicely designed. The only problem I have with mine is the rought shift from 1st to 2nd gear. I've talked to a few mechanics and they say that problem is similar in many of the mx6's they look at...but it could always just be a mechanical problem. Very nice car overall.

Automatics are a bit slower than a v6 Camaro, but much better looking. Beats almost all Hondas (but preludes are a nice challenge).

Great fast car! Awsome V6 engine with no problems. Real easy to soop-up!

Weakness:

None really except replacing the breaks and power window problems (Motor in the power window switch died). other than those, no problems.

Great first car for young drivers. Easy to hook up and gets alot of attention with the speed. Plus it is one of the fastest V6's that I have seen and it looks hot

Strength:

Looks good, pretty quick, not expensive, good on gas, comfortable in the driver and passenger seat, good size trunk, and it doesn't look like many other cars.

Weakness:

BAD paint, Small back seat, but it is meant to be a sports car, Automatic Antenna broke, and horrible stock wheels but besides those minor things it runs well.

Since I've bought I've put some money into it trying to make it look better(Paint Job, Spoiler, 17" Rims)I want to do somethings to the engine so if anyone has any Ideas send them to me (BBallin43@aol.com) The car handles very well and in any type of weather. Keeps up mostly with any car. Hasn't been in the shop for anything except for the things I caused.
Overall its a good car for my first car, nothing to complain about.

Great handeling
Sexy looks

Weakness:

Tiny back seat
Unable to adjust steering wheel

I was initailly looking for a used car, but managed to get a good deal on a new one (manual + leather) since the dealer needed to make room on the lot. Since then I've never had ANY regrets about getting this car. It may not beat a Porche 911 at a light but has enough power to get the job done. In the looks department I think there are few cars that can compete. It's so curvy that friends have called it my red headed girlfriend.

Love driving this car on winding mountain roads.
