Strength:
Very reliable engine capable of 200,000 miles plus, and same for transmission, and these cars tend to hold thier value if taken care of properly.
Weakness:
could use lsd from the factory and maybe a little more power, upper timing chain tensioner's need to be removed, ask local nissan dealer about further info., they have been anonymous for making noise right around the time the car hits the 100,000 mile mark. Vehicle runs great, very smooth and excellerates very well but could use more power, Hatchbacks not as solid as coupe and if anyone considers buying one they should look into purchasing SE model, comes w/ alloy wheels and better suspension and lots of power controls inside. fast, pretty reliable, looks good!
Weakness:
Interior gets hot real quick. goes a skids in water and loose gravel-could b my tires though!- this car is fast!It was meant to be my get around car yknow school & work only But now I'm even looking into buying a kit to make it look nicer than it already does. Not many like it.
Weakness:
Weak interior parts, and very expensive to repair. I am really happy with my car. It has 90,000 miles and still running good. I had todo some miner repairs, but its because of the many miles and years. Similar Products Used: Nissan 200 sx and Honda Accord. |

The rwd is a plus and plus it is foriegn and you can't beat that.
Weakness:
my interior is not holding up as well as i would like. I bought my 240 back in 1997 when it was 7yrs old it is now 13yrs and it is still running strong. Yes there were a few minor repairs here and there but over all I would buy another one in a minute. I can't wait until nissan comes out with a new one. OR if they ever will? rear wheel drive, sleek body style, overall good performance
Weakness:
poor electrical system (radio, etc.), weak acceleration when A/C is on My 89' 240 is great. I hope to add a few new parts every year, and so far have had few problems with it. I was disappointed, however, that the transmission failed at only 56,000 miles, and that the paint has begun to rust in several places. It also does not have the best electrical system. The 2.4L engine is sufficient, and rear wheel drive is a plus. The air condition does steal a lot of power, however. |

Weakness:
Can't import a silvia, ka24de. This cars is simply the best in its class, what can beat rwd. If I could get another 240sx I would in a heart beat. If you can get one get a se with a 5speed and abs so you get the vlsd, and do a sr swap. Then go kick some honda butt. Similar Products Used: 1996 200sx se |
