Strength:

*Fairly good on gas
*Chicks think that it's "cute"
*Looks great with tinted windows
*Nice sound system
*Rims look great
*Tunk space is good
*Ski/bike racks look awsome on it

Weakness:

*Cup holder location sucks
*Need to be able to put up and down the window while ignition is off *Safety window in back is stupid
*Brake light on dash goes on and off alot
*No trunk release for all the times I have put my friends in there

I bought it used in 10-15-99, with about 49,000 miles, and payed $6,900. The lady I bought it from was not looking for profit, although blue book was around $10,000+. This vehicle is great for small families, and great for a first vehicle because it is easy to maintain. Looks really sporty when you spruce it up with tinted windows and sharp looking bike racks. I like it very much, and would recommend it for just about everyone.

performance for the price

Weakness:

design of the back

i paid $12k for the car new back in 95. a black gxe 5 spd. i put 120,000 miles on it in 3 years and she was running stronger than ever when a lowlife stole it from my driveway. i drove her across the country and into canada several times and averaged over 30 mpg averaging more than 80 mph (in montana & wyoming i averaged 100 mph and 26 mpg). my friend has a 94 se automatic and it wasn't nearly as fast as my 5 spd.

i don't care for the design of the back of the car but other than that it's a great ride.

i've gone through 23 cars in 14 years and i'd had the altima the longest. i was that happy with it. i would highly recommend this car to anyone.

Strength:

Great looking front design. much more aggressive looking than honda or toyo.32 MPG highway(yet to see).ALOT of extras that you would pay "extra" for on other vehicels. 16"rims 4 disk brakes.great color choices compared to other manufactures.

Weakness:

((small access to a large trunk.)) i wish they would give a-bit more attention to the rear end design...thank goodness for a rear spoiler! no day-time running lights.(lowers insurance) wish it was just a-bit wider,(do not think of putting 3 people in back). 2 is fine, but not three adults.

same story as alot of people, looking for a good deal on a mid sized car under 20k. what you get from honda or toyota is a USED car for that price,(if you do not want a stripped model).oh yes,you could get a bottom of the line accord or maybe a camry, for under 20k.but have you ever really looked at what you get? cheap plastic interior and very boring. all i see is a dependable car,*yes i give them that* but they have very little else to offer for an overly inflated price. HEY if thats all you want is a honda or toyota logo on the front!!??
My wife and i never even considered nissan. one night after looking at accords and being really dissapionted, she mentioned mitsubishi,we looked, nah.just didn't feel right.then out of the blue nissan. went to the closest dealer,45 mins away.(bad)we drove the glx & gxe, good but not comfortable. the seats are not that great. tried the SE and what a difference the 16" tires and upgraded seats make! the feel for the road is very good.checked consumer reports and every other site with info about the car.*excellent marks*.. will be picking up the car tomorrow! 6/26/00..emerald green metalic with black interior.$16,700 before taxes. make your best deal,(as close to 10% off MSRP as you can get) then take advantage of the 1400.00 incentive.. there is no way honda or toyota can come near the deal we got (for what we got standard)!

Strength:

This car gets great gas mileage, a revvy 4 cyl. engine, and I have been driving extensively in all types of conditions without a single major problem. Very smooth ride after 100,000 miles with original suspension.

Weakness:

-Radio buttons stick after extended use.
-Cups in cup holders get in the way of the radio.
-Front bumper not held on very well; come loose and out of place with a light tap.
-Cooling system problems.

Definitely recommend.
Paid 10,000 used.

Strength:

After some sporty modifications to the suspension and engine, the car seemed to have adapted to them. Along with low gas mileage, powerful engine, comfortable interior and luxurious exterior, this car has kept me a happy nissan owner.

Weakness:

The weaknesses of this car is not big, the only problem I have encountered is a lack of after-market products to enhance the looks and power of the car.

I purchased the car used, and paid 9800 for it. I quickly customized it with an INTRAX sport suspension, 17 inch racing tuner rims, NGK spark plugs and wires. Flowmaster headers, CGS high performance catalytic converter, dual OBX mufflers, MDS Ignition, and minor body mods.It has turned itself into a powerful, sporty sedan. I recommend it to young and old who are looking for a reliable car.

Before I owned the Altima, I owned a 87 300ZX, which was also a great car. After I modified my Altima, it seems to provide the same amount of power as the Z.

It is a Great car...It comes with great power and can be upgraded to be faster. It is a great Family car and good for anyone else...young or old!

Weakness:

No weaknesses for me yet....that i would waont to complin about....cuz everyone goes through tires and other things like that to that really you can't complain about!

I would recommend it but I think that those who buy one won't wbe doing things to the car like I am and have!
I have lowered mine with Eibach Springs witha 1 1/4 drop, and put on 16" Rims with 205 40 16R Rubbers! handles Grrrrrreat now!!! Also changed the original Intake to a K&N Intake! So those people out there with an Altima that they are working on like me..please drop me a line so we can talk...it's nice to talk to people with the same taste!!!!

GREAT STYLING, NICE INTERIOR, A LOT OF POWER FOR A 4-CYL. Excellent
handling compared to the other sedans. Nice sound system. A great
value for the price. Reliable, Reliable, Reliable.

Weakness:

Cruise control switch.

Paid $17,200 in Feb.99 brand new. Came with leather, sunroof, spoiler,
auto tranny, fog lights, cd/tape, white face guages, alloy rims, etc.
Cannot buy any other car for the price comparably. It came with the
sport tuned suspension that really makes it drive like a sports car
rather than a family sedan. If you are in the market for a four door,
you must give this car a shot. The 2000 one now comes with 155 horses.
If you want a soft ride feel, consider buying GLE, or a GXE. But if you
want a sportier feel yet a four door, SE stands on top even compared
to the accords or the camrys.

Strength:

- I would say one of the things I like the most about this car is the cold A/C. Under Miami's Sun, most cars take quite a time to cool down the interior, but my cars' A/C cools down almost immediately.
- I like the car's sytling and the handling needs no introduction.
- Brakes are really good; the SE brings standard disc brakes on all 4 wheels, and when you push on the brakes, the car sticks to the road like you wouldn't believe.
- The car has good torque for a 4 cylinder.
- I recently upgraded the stereo system, but the factory one wasn't bad at all.
- Comfortable.
- Very reliable.

Weakness:

- Cup Holders, can't put McDonald's Large cokes without messing with the radio.
- Wind noise at high speeds.(heard Nissan thickened the front glass on the new model to improve it)

I bought this car from my mom, and she bougth it brand new (5 years ago) and it never had any problems. Now the car has 70,200 and it looks new, and the engine runs like new (we also take care of it and oil is changed every 3000 miles) I have had it for over 6 months now, and I love this car. I highly recommended.

GREAT LOOKS, NICE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR. VERY ROOMY COMPARED TO COROLLA. FULLY LOADED FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE COMPARED TO SIMILAR MODELS IN THE MIDSIZE/COMPACT CATEGORY.

Weakness:

I HAVE HAD FEW PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 30K MILES AT AN AUCTION. WAS GETTING VERY POOR GAS MILEAGE, THE DEALER TOLD ME TO REPLACE OXYGEN SENSOR. HAD TO PUT NEW BRAKES AND ROTOR, AND 2 NEW TIRES ALL AFTER DRIVING CAR FOR ABOUT 8,000.00 MILES. I WISH SOMETHING COULD BE DONE TO IMPROVE THE MILEAGE- GIVES ABOUT 290-310 MILES PER 15.9 GAL TANK. FOR A 4 CYLINDER CAR, EATS LOT OF GAS.

PAID 11,200K FOR A USED CAR WITH 30K MILES. I WOULD STILL RECOMMEND THE CAR B/C IT DRIVES GREAT AND IS ROOMY. I JUST KIND A FEEL THAT I HAVE HAD TOO MANY MINOR REPAIRS DONE ON IT IN SUCH A SHORT TIME.
