Strength:

still looking

Weakness:

too many to name.

tiny car, barely room enough for the necessities (steering wheel, brake pedal and door handles). cute enough though. bought this car for the wife who was tired of her 13 y.o. Cadilac Touring Sedan with 220,000 miles. She loved the size, and cuteness at first. NOw, twenty thousand miles later she''''s VERY anxious to get rid of the watch fob. too tiny to carry anything more than a driver and possibly one passenger. horrible road car: too light, rough suspension, noisy, etc.

Acceleration, handling, and the stero is great too. All around its a awesome car!

Weakness:

none i can thing of

The car is really fun, and fast. Ive raced it and beat a good 90% of the race Ive pulled up to the line with. When you first drive it and put the gas to the floor the engine makes you feel like you have a tubro charger in it and you get thrusted back in your seat.

Power. Interior looks, design. Loaded to the gills. Leather interior is awesome.

Weakness:

Turning radius. Wish a tad better stereo, but usually sufice. Wish cig lighter was on at all times, and not when car was on. Center console a little cheap and fragile, especially when it is raised

Wonderfrul car...first import for me. Power - awesome. Interior - fit and finish is wonderful. Compared to Acura TL Type S. Like the design, and esterior of Acura, but interior of Maixma. Have all options, including splash guards, Meridian package and sunroof deflector. Considering bra. Amazing what this car has. Fogs, Xenon, 6 cd, heated seats & steering. Great deal from dealer ($200 over cost) and great financing 3.9. Tough to find both.

Well made cars.

I missed the 60/40 fold down rear seat. ?xD;?xA;Independent rear suspension would be nice.

I''''m writing this review as i believe that only long term reviews are accurate.?xD;?xA;I''''ve owned this car for 7 years and have driven it for 240000KM. Other than?xD;?xA;maintenance items like, oil changes, tires, brakes, rubber booties, and a battery, the only?xD;?xA;problem i have had was a defective heater fan switch. I change my oil at 5000Km My previous car was?xD;?xA;an 1987 Nissan Maxima SE that ti drove for 237,000KM. My present car is?xD;?xA;a 2002 Nissan Maxima GLE.

performance, fit and finish, resale/trade in value!

Weakness:

no major ones

this is the third maxima in six years for my wife and i, they keep getting better, the 02 se feels more solid than the 00, i couldn''t wait for my wife to get off work to pick it up, i went to the dealership and took it for a drive, i was not dissapointed, 255 horse engine is smooth!i am worried this might be my last one i can afford if they take a big price hike in late 03 or 04 like they say at the dealers, can i adjust to a altima--probably but it will be tough at first!

Model Reviewed: Maxima GLE Meridian

Strength:

**Performance & handling **Expected reliability (in 93k on my first Maxima I had replaced 1 rear passenger window seal, 1 fuel injector, and 1 power window--about $600 all told) **Interior materials & construction **Front headroom and visibility **Value given my criteria (if your primary criteria is low road noise and soft ride under $25k, this car would not be a value to you.)

Weakness:

**Rear headroom (none for people taller than 6''1") **Road noise (could be quieter--due to the low profile tires and stiff suspension?) **Loose back end on rough road (the independent suspension of my 1994 was better)

Traded in my 1994 Maxima SE and felt like I was putting "Trigger" to sleep. I looked at virtually every 4-door sedan (Passat, Accord, Camry, Avalon, used Volvo S80, plus some American) figuring many had passed the venerable Maxima, but I was wrong. Fit, finish, quality materials, interior space, performance, reliability, and price were all weighted equally. (Note: I did not look at the new Altima nor did I consider BMW--had to be under $30k) My criteria: I wanted to have a some performance in a formal" sedan (notice I got the GLE this time, not the SE), but it had to carry two young kids and leave money to put food on the table. I had to enjoy driving it for a least 8 years. It had to be absolutely reliable. I got $6,000 trade for my "good" condition 1994 Maxima (my estimate of condition). Kelly Blue Book "Trade-in" suggested $5,000 for "good", so I would take $1,000 of the price suggest I really paid $26,912. My vehicle: Black/Black 2002 Maxima GLE with every possible feature except NAVI. **Spoiler **Power sunroof/wind deflector **Meridian **Mats/mud guards **Traction control **Side airbags Honestly, the stars aligned for me on the price and negotiation (no particular skill on my part, end of month, etc.) so I''d consider this a very, very fair price I you''re like me searched the internet for information. Also used "CarsDirect.com" and Maxima.org for good information. Sorry for all the detail; this is what I would have wanted during my search.
