Excellent build quality, better than average audio system, comfortable ride and user friendly interior appointments

The styling on the rear of the vehicle is a bit bizzare with the brake lights resembling something similar to fish eyes

After considering another infiniti (this time the I35) I decided the 03 maxima was a better value. Basically the same car as the Infiniti I35, for several thousand $$$ less. The ride is very smooth and the seats are comfortable. The trunk has alot of room for everything you need and the back seat is roomy as well. Could do without the theater style seating in the rear though, thats the reason there is less rear head room, the rear seats are slightly elevated so the rear passengers can see the road, not the back of the drivers head. For the money, the car is a great deal. Its far more comfortable than the VW Passat, is basically the same as the infiniti I35, and won't break the bank when it comes to payments.

Bose system push in controls fell off at about 100,000 miles Steering wheel vibrates which started at about 80,000 miles but not too much; can be annoying though, tried tires, alignment, and still there. someone said to change the control arms which i'll have that done soon. leather seats are beggining to crack but may be my fault for not keeping up with it.

I bought this car cause i did not have down payment for a corvette so i just needed something to get around. I must say i was impressed from day one. I bought this car used and 54,000 miles, this engine is strong with no problems at all and it now has 116,000 plus miles on it and still running very strong. I must say that the drivers side rear window does not work anymore, don't know if its the regulator or something. I Changed shocks at about 98,000 miles and just about three days ago the bose system display comes in and out sometimes. So you see now instead on wanting a vette i'm going after 2002 Maxima Se. Very good car.

Power, styling, driving comfort, Bose stereo, great brakes.

Handling could be upgraded.

I just can't believe that Maximas aren't more popular. I had a 1996 Toyota Camry before I got this and it was a great car. But the Camry had no soul. The Maxima has been perfect for the first year. No problems at all. It just runs like a dream. Power to spare. I know the 2002 model has a lot more power but I love the power in this car. I was a little wary leaving Toyota for Nissan but I can say now that I'm glad I did.

A little too much body roll and wimmpy horn. I've replaced my horn and plan on reducing the body roll.

Not only a great car,also a great value.Also one of few cars in its class that offer 6 speed 260 HP and a smooth V6.This car is fast,roomy,great looks and cops do not pick it out of a crowd! I have all the options on my car (no navigation system) including the limited slip obtion with the 6 speed. I highly recomend this obtion with such powerfull V6. My first maxima was a 1991 SE and my 2nd,1998 SE and this is my 3rd. no real problmes and truly great cars.

If this is not the best car ever made in the world, what is it then? I test drove a Passat, Accord, Camry, ES300, Acura TL S-Type, and the BMW 530i. None had the performance or looks of the Maxima. I had to go with the Maxima. I have a heavy foot and none of the other cars responded as quickly as the Maxima. No other car had the sexy look that the Maxima possessed! I wouldn't buy no other car. Sorry Toyota and Honda fans, not even your Luxury line of cars can match the Maxima. Good luck next time!

I love this car, It has pretty good power is buttery smooth and quiet. Though not as fast as the manual version, on my first time out ever at the track it had a time of 16.4, not bad considering I'm a pretty big man, have no modifications to the car, and had never did it before.

V6 - comfort - reliability - stock cd/cassette sound great, who needs bose. a joy to drive

bought this a few months ago from private owner. car goes for about 7500.00, great condition/dark gr/auto. check engine light came on and Began to stall and shut off completely 1 month later, found out the coolant temp sensor needed replacing. also replaced knock sensor, drives like a new car(110,000 miles) best car I have ever owned, I love the looks of this car, aggressive,sleek, powerful and very fast.

well built. good acceleration. decent gas mileage for a v6.

wind noise/air leak through the moon roof. nissan should replace this bose audio system with something else better. better suspension for better handling like the honda/acura.

Just want to share a long term view of a 95 se model. This is the most reliable auto I've ever owned so far. I currently have 191k miles on the car and it's still going strong. The interior as well as the exterior still look good. All these years and miles, I only had to replace tires and brake pads. The alternator went bad at the 181k mile mark. It's to be expected. That's all. The HVAC, radio/cd/cass, heated seats/mirrors are still functioning. The acceleration remains strong. The struts and shocks are still good.

Extremely quick vehicle for a "family sedan." The HID and fog lights compliment each other well. All the option can be had for below invoice price. Really like the seat and steering wheel heaters. Brakes are much better than the Honda / Acura setups.

Turning radius is sub-par. Transmission is a bit clumsy, esp. in the 3-4 upshift. Front seats have a "bench-like" feeling instead of a nice bucketseat posture. The seats fell like they sit up too high. Missing the tilting mirror when in reverse.

Had this car for two months now (2000 miles). Replaced a 1998 Honda Accord EX-V6 Coupe with this car. My Maxima is fully loaded with Leather, Meridian, Sunroof, Wind deflector, HLSD, etc. I am very satisfied with the ride even though is is not as smooth as the Accord Coupe was at high speeds (+70MPH). The clutch motion and engine are extremely smooth. The 6-disc sound system is par at best. The rear deck subwoofer sounds muddy and can only handle half the power without distorting. Wind noise at moderate speeds is noticable but bearable. In short, the Maxima has the ergonomics and all of the comforts that an average commuter is looking for; not exactly a Lexus, but the performance and lower price make this car a great buy.
