Nissan Sentra
Strength:
This car is great. I use it to travel between home and school (about 300 miles each way) and even through the hills its been good to me. My dad owned the car before me, bought it as a "program car" with 3000 miles on it, and I got it from him about 3 years ago and I would say its pretty reliable!
Weakness:
The clear coat went bad, but got it repainted, and its a beauty again. Also I don't like the lack of interior warning lights, but its a low end car, what can you really expect? Also we have had to replace the A/C switch 3 times, but I've found this problem to be true on a lot of Nissans. Get this car! Its a great dependable car, I would recomend it to anyone looking for a car for their HS student or collge student. Repairs are kind of expensive, but I guess all cars are like that. I seriously plan on keeping this car for another 5-7 years, and with 115000+ miles on it its still going strong. Similar Products Used: Nissan Altima - Can you belive that I like the sentra better? The Altima is way to heavy of a car and I dont like the drive. Same with the Honda Civic, although I would have to say the sentra is way more of a car then the Civic. |

Strength:
Lot of car for the money, pw,pdl, tilt, cruise, air, etc. Easy to maneuver in
Weakness:
slow taking off because of the automatic trans. I knew this going in, but I would recommend this car to anyone who can deal with the lack of entry space for the rear seat. Also, if you don't mind saying to others that you bought the Nissan over the Honda, because most will think your nuts. My Maxima and B210 both went well over 200,000 miles. A Nissan will last just as long as a Honda or Toyota, I know from experience. The Nissan will just let you keep more money in your pocket for a comparable model. Similar Products Used: civic: Its close but not as solid feeling as a civic, but for thousands less it will last just as long. |

Nissan Nestra "Limited Edition"
Strength:
I live the gas milage and the big trunk. Rides smoothley and very comfortable.
Weakness:
Well I have already had to get a oil leak fixed and now the RPM gauage keeps dropping way low on me and it has been dieing on me alot latley. And the Heater SUCKS it takes like 10 minutes for it to get warm!!! I would recomend this as long as you get the car checked out before you buy it. If you want a car good on gas mileage and you are a college student without alot of money, this is the car for you (as long as yuo get the extended warenty)!! Similar Products Used: I had a 1992 Dodge Daytona before this car and I would have to say the dodge has been alot worse than the Nissan has been |

- 2 door base
Strength:
Great MPG, Easy to service, carburated, handles well, 5 spd offers reasonable pick up, low initial purchase price, parts seem cheap too!
Weakness:
Passenger side mirror would be nice, Well, I have had this little Sentra for just a few days now and put about 100 miles on her. She has 124K and runs smooth and strong. Picked her up real cheap and already I love this car! I have been using a 89 Jimmy s15 to commute 110+mi per day (at 16mpg highway!)and gas prices have been killing me! This car is a base model with A/C, no other frills, but runs and handles great! The 87 was the last year that carburaters were available-resulting in less sensors and headaches for me. Be sure to check under any prospective purchase carefully for signs of rust on the floor pans and subframes. Mine has a spot under the rear driver side floor pan and some significant rust on the frame rails in front of both rear wheels. It is not structural yet and have already begun treating with POR15 (great stuff-only rust paint that works!)I also replaced a coolant sensor that activates the radiator fan (only $20) I anticipate at least another 50K+ trouble free miles with this car, heck if I get a years good use out of her, she will have more than paid for herself in gas savings alone! This is a great first car for a single person or a great commuter car or second car for those with young families(two kids fit fine in back seat) Similar Products Used: 77 fiat spyder, 72 triumph spitfire, 72 volvo 2 door, 80 chevette, 84 dodge 400, 84 ford ranger- I have owned MANY cars over the years and this Nissan performs as well or better than those I have listed. Also appears to be easier to service and definately gets better gas mileage than any of these cars (Spitfire came close though!) |

Sentra SE Performance
Strength:
Beautiful Car!!! Like the strong spiffy engine and beautiful nice spacious interior. Love the way it purrs on the high way. Excellant exeleration. Nice handling also. I think that this car is worth every penny since all the features it has can run you up to if not more than 20 grand.
Weakness:
I think that the materials in the car are too hard. I would highly recommend this product over the civic, corrola, and protoge because this car is a very cheap, but quality car. The SE model has everything the other ones have, and the interior will torch the others also. THe other only have 120-130 HP but the SE packs 145. THe engine used in the SE is also used in the INFINITI G20 and the Sentra SE-R Similar Products Used: Honda 2000 civic - not nearly as powerful and interior lacks class |

GXE 4 Speed-Auto
Strength:
It is very fuel efficent driving local, Economy car, good insurance rate, nicely equiped with power options, such as windows, 4 door lock, and etc...
Weakness:
Lack of Engine power(Espically when A/C is turn on)or(Going up hill), small wheel base(Not enough GRIP on the road), and highway accelerating after 75MPH or faster is terrible...engine jumps to 4500+RPM...but you don't feel it going any faster.....it does.....but extremely slowly. I would recommanded for people who just want to get to places. (Local Places) and this car is made in Japan so you know it will last you a long time, but on the safety part its not really good, recommand domestic car if looking for safety. If you really have your eyes on the Sentra, the SE-R model is strongly recommanded. Similar Products Used: 96 Honda Civic LX,Auto, Civic also has a 1.6L, but it seem to be weaker then the Sentra 1.6L on the performance side, but its a very close competetor with the Sentra. |

Strength:
The Sentra is basically a very well built car with no particular vices or virtues. It gets great mileage and has better than average quality control.
Weakness:
The '90 and '91 Sentras felt cheap. The doors sounded tinny when they closed. The '95 felt somewhat underpowered compared to our previous Sentras. We consistently had bad luck with the stereos and on the 93 got a helluva runaround from the manufacturer, who insisted it go into the shop rather than be replaced one for one. I drove the car without a radio for almost 4 months. Recommend highly. We've had pretty good luck with all of our Sentras. They're also fairly inexpensive to buy and maintain, compared to the one Toyota and several American cars we've owned. Similar Products Used: Among all the Sentras we ever owned, I liked the '93 best of all in terms of looks, feel, and quality. I'm also impressed with the crash worthiness of the Sentra. My teenage son was broadsided in the 95 by a semi that ran a red light. The semi hit the driver's side door and despite the fact that the car was totalled, my son received only a few cuts and scratches. |

Nissan Sentra
Strength:
This car got great gas mileage (32 mpg highway). The quality of the workmanship on this car was great. Super reliable. On a standard shift the clutch is super easy to push. There is hardly any travel on the pedal. That is important if you have long legs. The seats are rather high also which makes it more comfortable for people with longer legs.
Weakness:
I could not think of single to complain about this car. Well I can say that if you don't change the timing belt at 50,000 miles you risk damaging the valves it that belt breaks. When I bought this car it had 100,000 miles on it already. It had a stuck valve on it so it burned up a quart of oil every about every 450 miles. The guy who had it before me let the timing belt go too long and it broke. On this car when the timing belt breaks it will damage the valves. The belt is easy enough to replace. I don't consider myself a mechanic but I was able to do it myself. Similar Products Used: I driven Toyotas, Hondas, Mitsubishis, and Mazdas. The Nissan is a cheaper and better car for the money. |

Strength:
To me this model sentra is not that tough,I have seen some in serious accidents. But the thing I like is that it offers alot of safety features and not just a pretty body alone.
Weakness:
Besides the strength of the car,I don't think it's a good racing car for the road, come on people, look at toyota corrola for crying out loud I would not recommend it to people who plan on modifying it to run cars like the mitsubishi evouloution and others, but i would definately say it's a damn reliable car.Perfect for the average person with a tight budget,it perfoms fantastic, for people who don't need to much speed and for people who love to customize their car,the sentra is definately good. Similar Products Used: to the corrola, the mazda protege, and the echo, are cars i would compare it to these cars. |
