NONE

Weakness:

breaks, exhaust, transmission

I will never buy another car like this one as long as I live! Wanted a good car to get me to work (100 miles a day). The first day I owned it, it over heated because part of the fan slipped out and cut some hoses. My trunk lock was defective and had to be replaced. It still overheats on long drives because of an electrical problem causing the fuse to blow that tells the fans to work. The latch that opens my hood won't stay connected so you need plyers to open the hood. The motorized antenna does not work so the stereo won't come in. the driver's side window came off the track and the arm broke so now the window is in the door. I go through a set of back breaks once a month because the callibers are bad and they cost 800.00 to fix which I don't have. The transmission is starting to slip and the car has no pick up at all. Finally, there is something wrong with the cadaletic converter that causes the pipes to get red hot after only driving around the block. This may not seem like alot to some people, but to someone on a limited income with only one car, this is my world.

Strength:

comfortable - lots of room - RELIABLE

Weakness:

alot of rust

I bought this car just under 2 years ago looking for an inexpensive car to get me to work and back reliably. in the 2 years i've had it I have driven an average of 100 k'ms a day and have only had to spend $300.00 in repairs. ( starter, ignition module, brakes .) It drives like a dream and just doesnt die. The engine ( 2.8 v-6 ) now has 320,000 km's on it and i'm looking for a newer cutlass to replace it. The only complaint I have is that for some reason my car is hard to start when it is cold.

Strength:

the inside is very nice

Weakness:

the car stalls out anytime/place. the a/c only works half the time.

I do have problems with my car. It stalls often, mostly when I stop and then takeoff. it is a safety hazard. I have not had any luck with my oldsmobile dealership and have seen that the NHTSA thinks that this car is a defect. And I do agree with them. If anyone asks me about this car I will tell them that I feel it is a death trap. I just hope it doesn''t lead to my death. I have an a/c problem and there is a clicking noise that comes from the drivers side tirewell. Never have I had anyone that could help me with this car.

Strength:

IT IS FAST. Solid. Dependable

Weakness:

None. Get a tune up, it''ll run fine.

This car is one of the best I''ve ever owned. Its fast, and solid. Handles like a dream and Corner perfectly. It beats out almost any imports :civics, acura, and honda''s in street racing. The little 2.8 Multiport injected engine works hard and keeps going strong. I have yet to replace anything let alone the plugs. its milage has clocked over the 99k max, and is now at 35k. The car is great on gas. I feel safe in this.

Strength:

low maintence engine, handles like a dream, reliable source of transportation

Weakness:

The Airconditioner in the 1985 as well as the one in my 1990 are not working. This is a problem I have seen in other autos of the model and make.

This car played a major role in establishing my new and happier life.My new husband(Paul),bought this car for me in the summer of 2000.I was in dire need of a dependable source of transportation for my 5 day a week commute of 45 miles,(round trip)a day,to my new job.He said that he was going to purchase this car, because it was a very dependable and safe automobile. He continues to drive it.

Strength:

Ride is great for the size car it is. Seats are comfortable. Factory stereo isn''t too bad. Lots of trunk space.

Weakness:

Front of car bottoms out on steep driveways. Dash design is kinda ugly. Sometimes vibrates at around 60 mph plus. Seat belts fastened to the doors in front very primative.

I purchased a 1995 Buick Century for my daughter and I liked it so much I decided to buy one too.(a 96 model) I like the ride and the way it handles. Sure, you can''t take a curve at 70 mph, but it''s comfortable. I know the design is dated but I am sick of the late model turned over bath tub look of todays cars. 3.1 seems to be a good engine and transmission shifts smoothly too. Guess turning 40 means your ready for a Buick. By the way, my daughter thinks her''s is ugly.
