Strength:

Everything - reliable all around, gets me home every time. Very comfortable, powerful, good handling, spacious... what do you want more !

Weakness:

practically nothing... mine is 17 years old and everything works exept the cruse control (and I don''t care). It''s got around 200,000 miles on it, burns no oil, trans. in good condition (4 speed).

This is the car !!! I love it. I bought the car to take it on a road trip to Alaska. Bought it one week before heading out, drove 7000 miles without any problems at all. I had planed to sell it when the trip was over but I fell in love with it because of its unbeatable reliability and comfortable ride for driver and passengers. I have now driven it some 15000 miles in the 6 months I''ve had it - and it''s getting stronger by the day. It has never failed me. Average milage with my driving is around 21 MPG which is rather good for a car this size and with a V8, automatic trans. - doing 70 MPH. I would recommend this type of car to anyone (i.e. all the GM cars having almost the same body and mechanics... 88, caprice, bonneville). These cars can do it all and if you need something, just drop by the junkyard and pick it up for two bucks. Do the math, don''t lease a new car - buy a good proven design that works and do something constructive with your cash.

Well, nothing very similar - a 66 Impala convertible (the one I had before this one). I loved that one too, a totally different car though.

Strength:

Great Acceleration
Lots of Power
Very Roomy
Very Comfortable
Reliable and Great Mileage
Extremely Affordable

Weakness:

Electronics might need replacing/repairing after a while.
Old folks look
Noticable twitches at low gear shifts.

I got this car for my High School years after my parents ditched it. I first didn't like it because of it's old looks. I grew attached to it over time and man, I gotta say that this car rocks.
It's very reliable, I only had to replace a few things but none too expensive. It's got excellent acceleration for a car of it's class due to it's powerful engine.
I just love beating my fellow friends' with "built" up civics at greens.
This car is extremely comfortable to ride and I still love it despite it's old age.
I'd recommend this car to anyone.

Basically same thing but the Delta is more powerful and much more comfortable.

My delta went head to head with an accord 99 and was he surprised when my delta pulled ahead of his accord.
The accord looks a lot better though. :)

Ford Mustang
------------
One of my friends has a mustang V8 and yes he did beat me, but not by that much. The delta can hold it's own against low end mustangs and that is a great feat considering that it's an "oldies'" car.

Strength:

Handling, comfort, power. Good body lines.

Weakness:

Sometimes the windsheild wipers won't activate until you put them on high.

I am a detective with a local department, and sometimes use it in my day to day operations. The car handles as well as any Crown Vic or Caprice I have ever driven, I have had it well over 100mph and it was nothing but smooth. I did have one of the 2 computers short out, but with Oldsmobiles excellent service, even that wasn't a horrible deal.

Strength:

Absolute comfort and extremely roomy. The General's 3.8 pushrod V6 is one of the smoothest and powerful engines you'll ever find in a family car (and mine isn't even the supercharged model.) Car has about 181,000 km on it now, and it rides better than the day I drove it off the lot. When the time came to replace the rear struts, I opted for a stiffer rear end - it means I now drive a massive car, with abundant leg room and I can take a corner better than a 1999 Honda Civic! Repairs are easy and parts are relatively cheap and easy to find. My ride is saphire blue in colour, which sets off the simple, yet classy body design very well. ...You're significant other will have no problem nodding off on those long drives. Tip: spend a few extra bucks when you inevitably replace the rear suspension and this car turns into a capable handler. It's a ride you can certainly take pride in.

Weakness:

GM's factory soft suspension... feels great on the tush, but will become too soft.... actuator on the power door locks are .. for lack of a better word - crap! I've replaced all four on the car at $120cdn at piece. Brakes are a bit tempermental... springs in rear drums will need to be replaced prematurely (not too costly) and easy to do yourself - really! If you don't tint the windows, the car can look like a greenhouse on wheels; especially if you buy a green one. You'll never have a problem with GM's bullet-proof V6, or the tranny, but be prepared to swap out the alternator and water pump about once every 130,000 km (reasonable)... oh yah, GM's computers (ECM's) up to that year, STINK! That'll have to go as well.... Is it all worth it?? - Damn straight!

Dollar for dollar, you can't beat a 92 Delta. It's great on gas, gives you all the comfort you'll ever need. No, it doesn't have the fit and finish of an Audi A8, but you'll never pay 180 bucks for a front rotor either. You're going to hear the occasional creak from that massive unibody, but pop in the Titanic C-D and play that tune where the boat leaves the dock and you'll feel like the king of the world! If you're high on an interior that hugs your body, stay away from this car...the Delta is more like that 40 year old couch your grandmother won't throw away - but there's a reason why she won't throw it away. Look hard, find one that's been loved, cause anyone who has driven this car can't help but love it.

Similar Products Used:

1989 Chevy Corsica.. tin can on wheels compared to the Delta. ...I've driven many Japanese cars (sports, family and otherwise) and I hate their interior design and lack of interior room. ..you're cars your boardroom, your dinner table, your office on wheels, your concert theatre... get a seat where you can stretch your legs!

Weakness:

ABS Light won't go out...

I bought this as my first car. At first I was a little uneasy about the size, but after a week I fell in love with this car! I have enough room to fit all my friends in it, and still have enough power to beat that Mustang next to me at a stop light! The ride is outstanding, I have a beat-up drive-way, but you'd never be able to tell in that car. I would refer this car to anyone!

Strength:

Very quick, smooth riding, STRONG engine, comfortable with lots of leg room in front. No plastic rattle in the interior! Great for long road trips.

Weakness:

Expense of repair of front end components. I've dumped over $1000.00 and it still isn't right. I've been to MULTIPLE service stations and dealers, still lots of rattle EVEN with new struts and towers ($700.00) Drive axle (2) 350.00. Loose suspension even after replacement. Man, it is eating up the bucks!

Car has 100k on it. I still love the car, just can't keep up with the expense of repair. It help up wonderfully. NO rust, the interior is still perfect! Great overall car, just too expensive to repair. No other major component failure! I've spent almost 3K in 6 months in various assorted repaire. The STRUTS are killers! $450.00 for the rear, $700.00 for the fronts WITH the new strut towers. Time to put her up for sale. It will make someone REALLY happy. The engine still runs like new! No smoke or noise at all! I think it will run forever!

Strength:

The smoothest ride. Enormous engine will throw your head back when you accelerate (especially if accelerating during cruise) Solid...Roomy...Great on gas...Nice trunk space. Mine is a beautiful crispy white w/ tan interior.

Weakness:

Side mirrors have strange positioning which causes even more dangerous 'blind' spots. Seat belt location tends to cut into your cheek..and if tape/armrest is down it is hard to buckle in. Sad interior design (should be better because it rides like luxury). Wind noise should not be a factor in such a nice car but is. Doors always look like they're not all the way shut...kind of scary.

This is my first Olds and I love her to death. I was very saddened to hear that they are phasing out OLDSMOBILE. But I tell you what... I will find me another one IF something happens to this one. She may be plain Jane..But she is Loyal Royal. She is luxury to me.

Strength:

what all my friends have immediatly noted upon entering my car is the spacious interrior. i can pile an army of friends in and they still have room to strech out and no ones having to slide seats forward and be crunched up to have the people in the back be comfertable. the trunk is also enormous. i can fit my sons oversized stroller that looks more like its made for a sufarri in the trunk with out coming close to my 3 12 inch subwoofers. the seats are extreamly coushy. my dad my wife and i drove this car back from my grandparrents house in tenn. to my house in tampa fl. and we all fit verry comfertable in the car for the 8 hr trip.
the gas mileage is ok
the engin purrs like a kitten and is just as fun to play with too

Weakness:

not the greatest acceleration but not all that bad either
dosent take corners all that great
had problems with rear power windows earlier on but over time they magicaly fixed them selvs i guess cause now they all work
had to replace the alternator 2 months after i got the car at about 55k miles

its a good car good quality and great for upgrading. ive upgraded the sterio system but am still using the factory 6x9's from the rear deck in the passinger doors. i was looking for a sports car but couldnt beat the deal i got on this car, so my expectations are more that of a sports car but its great for my family car. its a good mix of family car and sports car best of both.
