Strength:

Comfortable ride. Plenty of room for passengers. Reliable and fuel efficient.

Weakness:

Brakes are touchy and have required quite a bit of maintenance.

I would recommend the Olds 88 to anyone wanting a larger vehicle and still needing to stay within a reasonable price range. I bought the 1992 olds in '95 when it had 37,000 miles on it. It now has 179,000 and is still running great. Doesn't burn a drop of oil yet! I like it so much I just purchased a 1999 (the last model year manufactured) and hope it runs as good as the 1992 (which I kept and will continue to run until it gives up the ghost).

Strength:

Comfort
Reliability
Room (I'm 6-4 and can barely fit into my girlfriends honda without getting claustophobic)
Its a tank

Weakness:

Extremely crappy power windows
front speakers disintegrated
It rides like a tank

I would recommend the olds to anyone who wants a car with room and power and a solid ride. If you want a sports car this isn't for you. This is my second 88 and the first one i sold at 150k and it was still running strong. Both i have had i bought used and the price i paid in comparison with what i got was a great value.

Strength:

HUUUUGE Engine
Muscle-Car pull in a slightly more modern body
Easily Upgradable
OKish factory speakers
Lots-O-Leg Room and Trunk Space
Pretty Good Reliability

Weakness:

Not exactly the hottest ride on the road
Boatish ride (but my friends get a kick outta it, like a lowrider)
OKish factory speakers

Well i've ridden in it for about 7 years and then i bought it off my parents as my high school car. As a passenger, it's very comfortable but as a driver the seats are a little cushy. The stereo comes out easy for all you upgraders and it's easy to run wirest through. (PS, if you want a crazy uprgade for about 10-15 HP pop out your parking lites and run dryer ducting from the intake to the parking lights for some nice ram air).

Strength:

Very dependable, comfortable, very smooth riding car, lots of leg and trunk room. I have two Delta 88's, my mother is on her 4th Delta 88 and she wouldn't get any other vehicle.

Weakness:

Power windows have a tendancy to stop working, Air conditioning quits after not using it during the winter

I again, would recommend the car to anyone. Oldsmobile is known for it's long lasting cars. The car will last you forever!

Cutlass Supreme....I think the Delta is the better car, especially for the smooth ride

Strength:

The car is roomy and comfortable. The ride is nice and it has get up and go.

Weakness:

Reliabily on this car has been a big issue. Seems every time I turn around something is going wrong with the thing. Replaces the entire fuel system. The alternator just went and was replaced. The brakes went a couple of months ago and I almost got into an accident with it. The overall braking of the car sucks. There is no feel for the road when going down the highway and I can never hear the radio when the windows are down since the A/C took a dump.

Over all the car is junk. I wouldn't recommend this car to anyone come hell or high water. Looking very patiently for a new one. I would recommend it to someone who likes to spend a lot of money on repairing cars.

Strength:

Lots of rear seat leg room.

Weakness:

Very poor handling. (I can't stress this enough)
Unsmooth acceleration. It's either very slow or slam the pedal to the floor and wait 5 seconds for the engine to respond.
Very poor interior quality. Many parts have fallen off.
Stereo controls do not always work.
Antena does not retract.
Poor braking.
And the list goes on....

I do not recommend the Oldsmobile 88.
Take a look at the 2000 Nissan Maxima.

Strength:

Large Spacious interior
Digital controls

Weakness:

VERY poor handling
Defective antenna
EXTREMELY CLUTTERED dashboard (controls)
Unreliable electrical system
Road Noise
Lack of Road to driver feel found in many chryslers
Cheap looking plastic interior
screwy auto-temperature control
stupid location for the glove box (on top of the dash??)
awkward steering wheel
ugly exterior (the exterior doesn't compare to other brands of the same year)

I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone out there. I have found everyhting on the vehicle to break-down. The ride is noisy and the car has very poor handling. I found that compared to other brands of the same model year, the 88 did not offer as many standard features and did not perform nearly as well. The radio/climate/trip computer controls looked like they had been thrown on the dash at random! There must be at least 100 buttons on that thing, and yet it doesn't perform as many task's as the trip computer on my 1995 eagle vision. I would urge you to keep browsing, this is not the car for you or ANYONE!

1995 Eagle Vision - My vision is much more powerful and reliable, it's just as spacious and offers a better road to driver feel. The controls are spread out and simple, yet offer all the same functions

Strength:

Conservative yet still styish
Roomy
Nice ride
Very comfortable
Nice sound system
Safe
Nice powertrain
Superior visibility

Weakness:

A little soft in terms of handling
Power antenna is not 100 percent reliable in retracting

A very nce family car with some style to it that won't look old in 5 years. Has excellent powertrain and reports show a good reliability factor as well as being safe. Easy in and out either in the front or back seats. With the LS there are some nice little amenitites like theater lighting (interior lights dim slowly after the doors are closed making for a smoother light/dark optical transition). Standard running lights, ABS and anit-lock brakes make this a very easy car to drive with excellent pick-up. I do wish the car were a bit more firm in the handling. I get what I consider to be good gas mileage and the range is about 400 miles per tank. Adjustable power seat, keyless entry and incredible road visibilty make this a very pleasurable car to drive. I purchased used from a dealer friend and paid $14,995 - condition was excellent, new tires, extra set of keys and approximately 22,000 miles. My family now owns 3 of these cars.

Strength:

Good acceleration
Roomy
Nice styling

Weakness:

Dependability an issue

My family has had this thing for about 10 years, it is an 89. It is still running pretty nicely although not too many km's have been put on it in that time since it has been used mainly for travel to and from work. A lot of work has been put into it, in that time. A couple of shocks had to be changed and some of the electronics are getting to be screwy. Also changed out a few altenators amongst other things that I cannot remember. Overall this is a pretty good vehicle. Nice family car or luxury car. It is very roomy and can seat 4 people nicely. The interior color is not that great, it is a coffin red type deal. Haven't seen how the current models look.
