Strength:

Looks, Performance and over all fun.

Weakness:

Having a problem with the fuel injection. Not sure if it is the ECM or the fuel control relay or something else.

Great Car my wife and two kids love the car. Fast even though it only has the small 1.8L. Great car for those that love to have fun while driving.

THE ENGINE CUTTING OUT FOR NO REASON AND DODGE NOT BEIG ABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM

OVERALL I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE CAR. I BOUGHT IT NEW IN CALIFORNIA AND HAVE HAD IT IN FLORIDA FOR 4 YEARS AND NOW IN CALGARY, CANADA FOR 5 YEARS. THERE IS NO RUST AND THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE FINE. MINOR MAINTANCE, IT GET ITS OIL CHANGED EVERY 3000 MILES. IT HAS 105,000 MILES ON IT NOW. HAD TH TIMEING BELT RECALLED AT 35,000 AND REPLACED AGAIN FOR MAINTAINCE AT 95,000. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE ENGINE WILL CUT OUT AND RUN ROUGH ON AN INTERMITTANT BASIS. IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS WARMOUT AND THERE IS A SMELL OF GAS IN THE AIR AND IT MOSTLY DOES IN DRIVE. THE DODGE BOYS CAN NEVER SEEM TO TRACK IT DOWN. ALWAYS RUNS FINE FOR THEM.

Model Reviewed: Plymouth Laser 1.8

Strength:

It's speedy, even for a 1.8 litter. Nice looks. I love thoes pop-up lights. Front seats are comfortable, back seats prevent loosers for asking for a lift. Now that was a smart idea!

Weakness:

None

I purchased this grand auto in the summer of 1993, right before I graduated high school and moved away from home to get hitched. I love it, is that enough to say? This car and I have been through it all together and then some. It's Tennessee tourquis blue with a 1.8 engine, has AC, a decent stereo, and a nifty power button for extra ummph! It has survived the driving in California, the heat in Utah, and now races along side of beamers and Mercedes on the Autobahns of Germany where we are stationed! I have no kids so it's awsome, my friend is 4'11, she is the only one in 8 years who has graced the rear seats! I replaced the transmission and valve lifters in 1993, it was apperent the person who owened it berfore abused it a tad bit. It has always got me to the last leg of the journey before needing repair and that takes a great car. I had the timming belt changed in 1993 and 2000 here at Chrysler in Germany.I cange the oil every 4 months or so and I recently added 16 inch rims and tall tires to fill up thoes huge wells. It seems to be tiny things that need to replace here and there, like weather stripping around the doors and rust around the rotors. I've changed all the breaks and rotors/drums last year and maybe I might need a paint job someday in the future. This car is my friend and it knows it by the neato personalized dash mat and the new rims! Hey, my driver's seat came up a little and feels loose when I sit in it, and that maybe expensive to fix? I had the fuel sensor replaced in 1995, and that's about it. I know it is becoming old by today's standards, but I feel I couldn't sell it no matter what. It's been real good to me when life hasn't!

Strength:

It looks good and comfortable with no one in the back seat. It also has pretty good acceleration. The top speed is also very fast. I have had it to 120 mph, it felt to shakey to go any faster.

Weakness:

To many problems. The A/C dosn't work, idles very low, fuel injection, squeaking brakes in reverse, paint cracks and peels, headlights suck, windows out of track. Very poorly designed.

I have had many problems with this car. The car does look pretty sporty. The price of car is also very good. It has lasted me, except the many times it has been in the shop.

Strength:

1990 plymouth lazer rs 2.0 16 valve twin cam, lots of balls for an engine of that size. Have had it punched out a few times at 145mph. Thats not suped up. Only a two person car. With good maintance and up keep the car will last.

Weakness:

The automatic headlights will stop working at some point in time. I feel the really is no big weakness that i found with the engine of this type of vechile. It performed for me for 3years of my lead foot. But at the time i got ride of this car it had 175,000 miles and was still kicking.

A single person or two people it would be a great sporty car. The car holds outstanding sound with a pair subs. Lots of performance take curves with no problem at high speeds. I hope you have good driving experiance, epsecially with 5 speed manual.

Weakness:

fwd trys to go to one side when you go WOT.Only way to sit in the back is to break you knees and put them in your lap or over your head your choice.to many girls to decide to put in the passenger seat.oh and the clutch ,its hard to shift but only sometimes.

When i first bought it i knew nothing about dsm or much about turbo cars. The guy i bought it from straight took it up to 110 mph!I was shaken like a little school girl.Never have i gone that fast that quick. Now im i love with it.Would not get give it away for anything less powerful! The boost fron 1rt to 2nd will rip your face off.Had a crx but its a turd compare to this car.Get boosted or get losts you trendy turd drivers!

I bought this car on a whim....and well it's the best whim i ever went on. This car got more balls then our 2001 Mustang GT and that's pretty incrediable. The 200 hp turbocharged inline 4 really rocks this town up. I've only lost a race once within a month and that was to a Camero. I've added a new exhaust to the car and it's now up to around 240 hp. These cars are great especially in the 5 speed version. The top end of 5th gear is incrediable. I've peaked it at 140 about 5 times

Weakness:

Power door locks...have mind of there own...only problem I've had with car.
Useless back seat, but anyone who needs room for more than two adults would be crazy to even consider buying a car of this type.

Car was purchased new in 1990...now over 11 years old with 76,000 miles. Car has been very reliable and well maintained. I still get comments on how well the car looks. Fantastic gas mileage....27 mpg local/33 mpg highway and with 16 gallon tank gives a good range.
