Haven't had it long enough to comment on it.

I bought the car used with about 26,000 miles on it(one previous owner)and have had the car a little over a month and have experience the cars entire power system going dead while traveling down the road. It will happen as soon as I either turn my turn signals on, apply my brakes, turn my head lights on, or flash my head lights. What really scared the crap out of me was the power completely died one NIGHT while traveling from one major interstate highway on a cloverleaf ramp onto a beltway interstate. I had lights, not even emergency flashers. It was like the power to your entire house being cut off. I was able to come to a complete stop upon which I managed to open the hood of the car and jiggled battery wires ontop of the battery and suddenly the power was restored. This is the only fault I have had with this car to date. but after reading some of the previous reviews I'm probably in for more problems shall we say "down the road"?

Had a 1997 Geo Metro. should have kept it. At least it didn't die on me while traveling somewhere. Truely a dependable little car. It just didn't have airconditioning (3 cyl.)

Strength:

Fast acceleration.

Weakness:

Cheap design, cheap throughout, a marshmallow of a car!

This car was my worst nightmare! I bought it with 35,000 on it and bought extended warranty along with the car. Right from the start, the whole steering column shakes and vibrates immensely, and the vibrations continue all the way under the driver's seat, right when my back rests. When driving even short distances, I get extreme pain on my back as the vibrations center right on my lower spine. Several times I felt almost dizzy from the pain, and had to stop to recover. My husband and my kids had the same pain, so we had to buy a second car to get to work and continue making the loan payments on the car despite the fact that it was impossible to drive this torture chamber. Other problems like defective wipers, sun roof motor, air system leaks were covered by the warranty. Also: leaky trunk (flood), defective window motor, air leaks, noises and rattles from everywhere we just learned to live with them (????).

Weakness:

Peeling paint, bad A/C, sqeaky brakes, speedometer doesn't work, service engine soon light is always on...need we say more?

My husband has had nothing but problems with his Neon. Everything from a dented oil pan to a leaky trunk. We have sunk way too much money into ours and the only relief I have is knowing we aren't the only ones.

Strength:

Decent gas mileage

Weakness:

See main paragraph

I bought my Neon new in 1998 and have had nothing but problems: head gasket (which the dealer did help some with), faulty sun roof (twice), gas gauge still does not work after two repairs, and the damn thing leaks into the trunk and on the floor (it always stinks because it is drying out).

Strength:

Looks good - nice accessories.

Weakness:

Everthing to do with it running good!

Bought this car new with extended warranty. Have had nothing but problems. I put on a lot of miles, but take care of the vehicle. Have had to replace the engine, change the head gasket twice(had some warping problems; the wiring harness burnt out and just after I fixed the headgasket again, the service engine light comes on and I either have a 02 censor problem or cad. converter problem - just paid it off at 5k and the dealership wants to give me 2k in trade-in! Worst car I've ever had-would NEVER buy another Dodge or Chrysler product. Oh, and the brakes squeak everytime they get a little damp!

everything named above

This car for the first 500 miles was great. After that, it turned into a car that was unsesirable. The engine started to sound like a cold diesel engine. I took it to the dealer and was tod that that was the sound of the engine. No help there. Two months later a fine white smoke started to come out of the steering column. Took it back to the deader and was told that since it had been in a fender bender the warranty was not valid for that particular problem. How does a replaced hood and a bumper void my entire electric warranty? this car and dodge itself suck big time....

This car is a piece of JUNK!! Trunk leaks. Passenger side window leaks. Replaced head gasket twice. Replaced sensors. Speedometer doesn't work. Air cond. doesn't work. Check engine light comes on seems like every 3 weeks. Leaking oil. Was trying to avoid a car payment but I refuse to take it to the shop anymore. I'm tired of wasting my money and time on this piece of junk. Gonna run it till it dies. Will never buy a plymouth or Dodge again. Wouln't even take it for free!!!!

Strength:

Looks, runs, sounds, and feels great!! nothing wrong with the car stock!!

Weakness:

Loud/squeke breaks, does not handle well at high speeds.

I have had my plymoth Neon for just over a year now and it runs great!!! i have switched my airintake and exhaust so the car may breath easier, and added a by-pass filter for better protection for my engine. i have the smaller version of the engine a 2.0 liter, with only a sohc. The car does have loud brakes and does not handle the corners at higher speeds that well, but that can be taken care of if you add bigger rims ( i suggest 16x7) which will reduce the sidewalls as well as getting a rear sway-bar. those are the only things that i have found to be any concern, if you are thinking about buying this car, you should, it runs great, looks great, and the sound system is great as well!! It has lots of room all around in the car, and the back seats fold down into the trunk for even more space if you need it.

Strength:

Looks great, runs great

Weakness:

Squeky brakes

I have a 5 speed 2.0 liter sohc, which is the smaller version of the motor but it still runs great. I hated these cars until i bought one but it runs great has a great sound system, and looks sharp. The only problem i have had so far is squeky brakes, but they may just need changed. And contrary to popular belief, my car runs cool, not hot, which will benefit the head on the motor. I bought this car used and the dealer said he changed the head gaskets b/c it was leaking oil, and he also had the block shaved for me but it wasnt cracked. Its a great car.

keeping it running

This car is an enigma. I have owned this car for one year and I have managed to keep it running for only 6 months. I have a stalling problem and the check engine light keeps coming on, not too mention a humming coming from the electrical box. Even the Dodge/chrysler/plymoth dealer can't fix. oh, and the sqeaky brakes.
