I took in my bosses 2001 Lexus RX300 for its 5,000 mile service at the dealership. Usually you get a Lexus loaner, but they were all out at the time. So I was given a Corolla LE. I thought what a joke when I walked up to it. After driving the Lexus, this seemed like a pile. After I drove it back to the office (a 30 minute in traffic drive), I started liking this car. It has some spunk to it and was quite fun! Drove the hell out of it (just over 1,700 miles in 2 days). I drove it pretty damn hard too, and it didn''t mind at all. When I had to pick back up the Lexus, I honestly didn''t want to give the Corolla back. I had alot of fun in this little car. A very well made car that will fool you. It looks like a piece of crap but isn''t.

none in this class. Closest would be an Altima, but thats still a bigger more substantial car.

Strength:

Its very dependable and a great interior with options.

Weakness:

Its a 4 cyl. Not that great of kick to it.

It is a very reliable car. I have passed emisions with no problem everytime. It is perfect for my family and is a good looking car. I''ve put a spoiler on it and tinted windows and it looks just like a lexus.

Strength:

Goes pretty fast..easy to drive..corners well

Weakness:

plain-looking not as good on gas as Id hoped.

This is my first car. My parents were convinced of the relaiblity and safety of Japanese cars and wanted me to get one. So far Ive had no problems other than it seems to get less gas than I thought. Maybe Im being ungrateful but I really wish Id done more research into cars that were both relaible and attractive. Its a 96 and is so plain looking with few features. Since it only has 50000 miles on it it looks like I have it for the long haul..I guess ill get back to you on how it does.

Strength:

Quietness, pickup, clutch hook up, handling, tire spinning!

Weakness:

Torque. Tape player.

An overall impressive car. Lacking in the area of torque. Ah well, I suppose my future super/turbocharger plans will fix that! Tape player broke.

Strength:

Quality, resell value, quiet, smooth running, gas-saving.

Weakness:

tasteless shape.

It''s a good car for a new immigrant. Drive it to and from office, shopping, no too much highway(I''d rent a big car for a ride more than 5 hours), no chance to get speeding ticket. Good quality, no trouble at all. Good(less) gas consuming. Runs smoothly and quiet.

Strength:

Gas mielage. Size.

Weakness:

Cheap looking interior. Too light, blows around like crazy on the highway.

At first, I loved my Corolla. It''s impossible to keep on the highway since it is so light. I''m getting rid of mine before winter!!! Good resale value though...

Strength:

Powerful compared with other sub-compact cars.

Weakness:

Unbelievable poor quality

Can't help writing something to pull the rating down. This car is nothing like a Toyota. Major problem (AC, Engine, Transmission, Exhaust, Cooling, Stearing, etc.) every 2 months. Just sold reluctantly in afraid of geting someone else a lemon. Hope we had sorted everything out in the cost that exceeded the value of the car when we bought it. Never, never a Corolla again.

Strength:

Engine, gearbox, low noise, reliability (I hope)

Weakness:

Handling on snow and wet surface are very bad. Non sensitive brake, and long braking distance. Very sensitive to side wind. Very very bad steering (to light). Lack of space for passenger. Alignment problem.

This is probably the worst car I buy.
Very disapointing with the (dangerous) handling.
The steering problems was never fixed.
