Strength:

Controls are laid out very good. Air works well in all types of weather. Gas Mileage is good and ride is smooth. Paint is done well and does not chip easily.
Great radio for a car of this class. Alot of storage areas and the built quailty is perfect. Day time running lights help out in the night if I forget to turn on my lights. Also, the trunk is large for a compact car. Above all else, I am driving a Toyota and I dont have to worry about my car falling apart or having to buy a new car any time soon. I have piece mind in my toyota. Toyota offers trouble free driving.

Weakness:

-Back seat area is small(but it is a compact car)
-Price-I was shocked when I saw how much this car cost me. I
think I got it for about 15,500 and I brought cruise control and keyless entry and a security system. Although this car was expensive, you get what you pay for.

This is a costly car and you could get a bigger car for around the price that I paid for mine, but you have to ask your self, will that car last?? When you look at all of the
old cars on the road now, Corolla would be in the top five of longest lasting cars. This car's quality validates the price.

I recommend this car to a single person who likes getting
from point A to B without any problems. Also, I recommend
this car to people who have a small family.

it gets me places, and the car is really reliable. Also, toyota has been really great.

Weakness:

ENGINE IS WEAK, The horn is just piss poor, and the back seat space isnt enough for the nights out with my girl

14000, HELL NO, I would rather by a civic or even a chevy before this piece of trash. If you are looking for a good quick car dont get the corrola. If all you need is an economy type compact go for it.

Strength:

reliable, faster than most small cars i've driven, reliable, rides better than a civic, reliable, best interior styling i've seen in a small car, reliable, rear exterior styling resembles GS series from Lexus...reliable, all aluminum engine, great mileage, great trunk space for its class, RELIABLE.

Weakness:

back seat space

I paid $13,000 for mine and got A/C, an alarm system, and a cd player for only $500. on top of that, because of its build quality, you barely have to maintain the thing. Fact is, if you're looking for a small car, chances are you don't have that much money to throw around. The more you think about it, you realize that the best cars are the cars that work.

more horsepower, better mileage, bigger trunk than a civic. neither the civic or the neon have an aluminum engine.
the neon has more horsepower but it's not as zippy, it has more room than the corolla but looks worse and you have to spend $30,000 a year just to maintain it.

Model Reviewed: Toyota Corolla CE

Strength:

I can't believe that a car with such good gas mileage has such great acceleration. I drove the Dodge Neon, which is supposed to have a little more horsepower, but the Corolla was much faster off the line. The interior is quiet, the ride is very smooth, and it handles turns quite well. From outside it looks like a sporty economy car, from inside I feel more like I'm driving a sports car. Definitely better that the Honda Civic if you want a better level of performance, and better than the Neon if you want better reliability.

Weakness:

The interior seats and fabric is good but not great. The middle console on the CE is not cloth covered like on the LE model. When accelerating, the steering wheel tries to straighten out, so you have to hold on when accelerating around a curve.

I bought the 1999 Toyota Corolla for under $15K. It had just under 15K miles. It looks and drives like a brand new car.
I recommend that if you get a Corolla, get the CE or LE model with the Touring package if you can afford it. That way you get the better wheel-covers, wider tires, and a four speed auto tranny instead of three on the VE.

Dodge Neon 2000 vs. Corolla 1999. The Neon felt more sluggish off the line, but was slightly tighter around corners. I almost got the Neon, except that I had heard stories of poorer reliability compared with the Toyota. There was no depreciation data for the new Neon 2000, but the previous models dpreciated much faster than the Corolla, which means if you turn around to sell the car, you'll get more of your investment back from the Corolla. Maybe the 2000 Neon will be better than the previous model years for holding its value, but I did not want to take a chance before the data is out.

Strength:

My Corolla has been very reliable. I have yet to have any maintenance issues. Great gas mileage and hold four comfortable. I have a 6'2" boyfriend that fits fine in the car.

Weakness:

The seats are uncomfortable for taller individuals. The lumbar support is marginal.

I have purchased many Japanese cars over the years. All of the leading manufactureres: Nissan, Honda, and Toyota.
In comparing all three, the Toyota rides the best and had the most features for the price. I have never felt worried about my vehicle breaking down. My warranty has also been great. I have had several instances with door locks, but the dealers had replaced all items in questions without charge. I would recomend a Corolla to anyone who is looking for a compact 4 door vehicle.

Strength:

Almost everything on this car is a strength for me.
Comfortability, power, gas mileage, everything.

Weakness:

Only one weakness I found so far - when you put the selector on the windshield, the A/C automatically goes on.

I drive for a living in this thing, so I get a LOT of time in it, and I must say it is the single best car I've ridden in short of an Audi and the like.
If getting one of these, I recommend getting the LE model. Believe me, you'll thank yourself for it.
There's even some not necessary "neat-o" stuff in my car; like the digital thermometer, and two trip-meters.
The only thing I would like to have on it is power seats, but what do you expect from the economy class (by the way, this car feels like the farthest thing from an economy class car)
There are so many things about this car I like, I can name them all here. I find more every day.
Just one last thing, they offer these coupon things that at the 5,000 mile intervals required, you get a FREE oil change.
Oh, and I have the standard model, which has EXCELLENT power, even on the highway.

Strength:

Great reliability; change the oil regularly and turn the key. Nimble feel, great paint quality. Nice look.

Weakness:

Pretty boring to drive and to ride in. Suspension; even
though the car is small it wobbles when making sharp turns
and emergency movements.

Great Car for anyone. Extremely dependable for years and years to come. Nice looking vehicle. However if you're looking for performance and exciting looks first maybe you should look elsewhere, but who couldn't live with a nice
looking car that will last 200K plus. . .
