Strength:

NISSAN ENGINE. says it all. Huge plus to having a Quest/Villager is knowing you're getting a qualified and capable powertrain. Comfy seating. nice speakers thought rap should never be played through them, it perverts the mind. Give me some good guitar riffs and we'll make a deal on music listening in my car. Surprisingly, nice alloy wheels. While not the greatest looking, they are alloys and the difference is not immediately noticed, but still, to drive a car you must feel what it's doing, it must become an extension of yourself. Strong frame. I know when I step in this van and get crazy that it will support me if I do happen to get too crazy. The torque and horsepower is fairly good, although could be better ( this van has been over 100 mph and still accelerating strong). I also like the digital instrument display in the LS. Very useful in telling mpg, fuel, and speed. It's a definite plus. ABS is real nice. This was the first year it was standard and it helps to slow the large body down.

Weakness:

I would have liked it to be a fully Nissan nameplated vehicle. Why Nissan dabbles with underlying domestic automakers is beyond me but probably would have been more cosmetically and psychologically gratifying had I had Nissan emblems all over it. Torque end is nice but in my parents 99 Quest it is immensely better. 3.3 liter engine is a definite plus to opting for the next generation Quest/Villager series even if you're not looking to buy it for power ( it's a minivan for Pete's sake). I get a small gasoline smell in the 93 model ever once in awhile, although i do hear this is fairly common and is due to some fuel lines that have been recalled since then. But I went and looked at the gas cap and tightened it and I haven't smelled it since. haha. I thought I hadn't tightened it enough. oh well. Other than that, I dont see any reason why the reader shouldn't look in the area for used Quest/ Villagers and take into mind this nice, sporty, elegant, minivan

I have been driving this 93 Villager for some time now and I must say that it is an incredible vehicle. While Ford may want to pull the shade over the consumer's eyes, it cannot avoid the fact that this vehicle's engine is incredibly reliable, not a trademark of Ford Motor Co. The beast under the hood is in fact a 3.0 liter Nissan engine. In fact, the only reason this van is dragged down is the Ford associated nameplate. This van is practically a heavier Nissan Maxima with plenty of torque to go around. Believe it or not, if you were ever thinking about how funny it might be to race with a minivan, this van is a blast. I have personally seen the demise of countless happless and unsuspecting SVT Mustangs, Camaros, Mitsubishi Eclipses, and anything Honda ( not to bash Honda, but it is pretty sad when a minivan gets a better jump from the line than a Civic. And as for the owner of the Mustang, he was none too happy at all, especially with so many people around.)All in all, this van is an incredible machine. After two wrecks ( three actually, two serious, none were due to my own fault. My front end seems to be a fender attracter) it stills holds up great. My dad and I spent hours fixing the radiator, front fenders, radiator frame, front headlight assemblies and light bar ( which by the way are extremely hard to find in good condition unless come by a dealer), and countless engine peices like the airbox and battery assembly that I personally sledge hammered back flat after my dad's nice fender bender in it. I am 16 years old. My parents made a deal with me that if I would fix the van I could use it as my car. It turned out to be my birthday present to me, but after resenting it so long, after being ridiculed for driving a van, I've learned to respect it, because the same people putting down this car are the same people I'm kissing goodbye to in my rearview mirror. It has a little bit of transmission slippage but for a car going on 175000 miles, and three wrecks, it's understandable. Ride quality is great. With the LS, you would think that it would have much softer springs and poor handling. But this thing is actually quite perky in the twisties. It actually feels a little more stable than my parents' 99 Nissan Quest SE. But that van is another story all together. I feel quite snug sitting in the driver seat and have come upon many times where I've had to use evasive maneuvers and I stay planted. I will miss this van incredibly when it comes time to part. It has become so much a part of my life as my first car.

Some things esp the dashboard look cheap. Radio.

Overall Im very pleased. Dealership gave me 5,000 discount off of 24,000 sticker. prob would not have bought it w/o the rebate and so far im impressed. It rides smooth like a car.Only problem Ive had is the latch on the sliding glass door which is scheduled for repair next week. Love the dual side sliding doors. The dashboard looks kinda cheap but other than that I'm happy. Lots of room in back row. I thought there would be more leg room between the front and middle row. Gas mileage could be better. I was very disappointed that the dual stereo didnt work the same as it did in my Explorer. Middle row headphone users cannot listen to different radio station than everybody else is listening to.

Size, handling, fuel economy, number accommodated.

Weakness:

Power door locks would lock on their own.

First van. Use in the real estate business. Accomodates families with ease. Drives like a car. Reasonable fule economy. Plenty of power. Handles well on the interstates. Only persistent problem was the door locks. Would lock on their own whether I was in or out of the vehicle. Learned early not to leave the keys in the vehicle at any time! Dealer service was great except for the door lock problem. They couldn't find the reason. Dual air keeps everyone comfortable regardless the weather.

Strength:

Easy to drive and park, love the quad seating. More than enough room for the two of us, and the back seat is used by our dog. Good gas mileage, very easy for elderly parents to get in and out of. Only trading to get sliding doors on both sides.

Weakness:

Power locks, but other than that, none I can think of.

My first van after having cars, and I love it! No problems except at times the power lock on passenger side doesn't work. All I have to do is push the lock button twice and it works. Very satisfied with this vehicle and am in the process of trading it on a 2002 Villager Sport.

Bought new, closeout model. Never again! Front end has shaked since the first days owning it. 1st time(few weeks) dealer said they had to balance the tires, no charge, no paperwork. 2nd time(few months) needed alignment, no charge. 3rd time(few months) 2 new tires, no charge. 4th time(few months), test drive, rebalance & rotate tires. Starting again.(less than week later) total of 23K miles

Strength:

good pickup and gas mileage good seat adjustments 110,000+ miles without any engine work comfort, ease of driving

Weakness:

front passanger seat belt won't stay properly adjusted back bench seat is not removable none of the side/back windows are electric poor quality seat adjustment handles uneven tire wear - especially back ones

Wonderful style, convenience, comfort. Purchased new. 110,000+ miles now. Shimmies when braking from hi speeds - needs brakes fixed. Gas smell is from recalled gas line problem not yet fixed. Back tires do wear unevenly. Drives/handles very well. Perfect size. Plastic handles used to adjust seats snapping off during normal use only problem. Lights, seat adjustments, controls, windows, all - small and large working just fine despite young children having their way with it. Wish front passenger seat belt would not slide back up without cause after be buckled together, this causes choking/irratated neck. Will drop new engine/transmission in this one when original dies and then possible buy another new one later.
