Strength:

Good looking design. van drives like a car has great turning radius. versatile interior.

Weakness:

Boy did we ever sucker in by the dodge advertising campaigns. This van came with all the bells and whistles and a lot of surprises. It currently has 38,000 miles we have had 5 transmissions, the radiator fan stop working and over heated. Power locks are broke the A.C. has been worked once for not cooling and it it currently not blowing cool air. We do want to spend another dime to fix it.

I currently have deposit on honda oddessey. I would not recommend a Chrysler or Dodge vehicle to anyone. We bought it new in 1996, for $28,000. Since, my wife does very little driving the idea was to buy a quality vehicle with intention of keeping it for 8-10 years. What a waste of $$$$ we now consider this van to be unreliable. She keeps her cell phone charged at all times in case she needs a tow truck. WE WILL NEVER EVER OWN ANOTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT AS LONG AS WE LIVE. EVEN IF ROLLS ROYCE BOUGHT OUT DIAMLER CHRYSLER. ADIOS FOREVER, YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS THE CAR YOU BUILT!!!

Strength:

Rides comfortably, is quiet, good for small family. The built in child seats are very convenient. the 4-cylinder engin seems to have sufficient power.

Weakness:

The Dealers!!! Second, with only 60k miles, had to replace the trans. Dealer says this is common. With 67k did the timing belt (proactively) and dealer says "head gasket is leaking oil... $600.00 please". Schisters every one of them.

17,500. It was great for the first year. Folks, listen now... buy a Honda! buy a Honda! buy a Honda! I have lost ALL faith in the American Car industry. This was my first new American car, and my last. We have had BMWs and Hondas. We are going back. Sorry Detroit you never got it, you're still clueless! Besides, the dealers are all crooks.

Strength:

Easy of entry and exit. the Intergrated Child seats. Plenty of head room. The ride is ok. large front windshield. Cargo space is excellent. Can load enough groceries for six without any space problems.

Weakness:

I have had the brakes replaced twice in the last 30K. I brought the it used and it sounded like brakes were needed. The dealer said, "The front brakes had about 50% left on them" 3months later the front brakes were replaced. 9months later they were replaced again and 3months after that the rear was replaced. The transmission was replaced this year. I had a like and still have the like in the tranny. The air condition compressor was replaced as well.
The clock spring failed, causing my airbag lite to come on, horn and cruise control failure as well. The clock spring is factor recall issued on it.

paid about 15k for it. Okay with low mi. As mi. increase so does the cost of Ownership. Suggest looking into GM or Ford or Honda.

Strength:

Nice ride, great for family.

Weakness:

Third seats vibrate a little when you hit potholes. (No big deal.)

It was a Demo purchased from the deal for about $17,000.

I would rather have purchased the Grand Voyager because of the extra leg room for passengers. But this one is fine for us and the price was right. If you have a family with big kids get the Grand, they'll thank you.

Strength:

This van is an excellent buy. 20K in 1997. Well worth the value. Excellent pickup off the line. Great for family trips. Loud stereo for a minivan. Always starts and very dependable.

Weakness:

No major problems at all. The service engine sign came on and wouldnt go off. Brought it in to be fixed and was fixed that day. Squeaking in one of the wheels. Cant figure it out but it stopped eventually.

20K. Excellent value. I would buy another one in a second. Good for families starting off. We love it

Strength:

Very Roomy and comfortable, reasonable quite, good heater and AC.

Weakness:

Transmission

3.3 liter V6.

I paid about $21,000 for the Grand Voyager SE with Roof Rack. For the first 40,000 miles it was a good van. then the Transmission troubles started. I have had 3 transmissions in the last 35,000 miles. Brakes do not last more than 35 to 40 k miles. I have heard of others that have had simialar problems with this year group. I would not buy another one today, I would look at the Honda if I needed a Minivan. I really think this is my last buy of a new American made automobile. They just have'nt got the point in Detroit that quality does matter.

After saying all that I do like the Vans ride and driveability on the road. Drives like a car and is very comfortable on the long haul. The seats come out and go in easy even if they are a bit heavy.

I would NOT buy a used one of this model year, unless I got a garage full of parts with it.

Strength:

Solid car with very little maintainence. Gets good gas milage for a van. Lots of space. good utility

Weakness:

some noise. It is, theoretically, convenient to have removable seats. But, they are so heavy, one hesitates to do it. also, it is hard to tell if they are locked into the correct position.

after eight years, the audio system is beginning to flake out.

I purchased a 1992 plymouth voyager in early 1992. At this point, it has eight years of use and 140,000 miles on it. Very little maintainence. I have a very rare five speed manual with the 2.5 L four cyclinder. The small engine with an automatic is just way too slugish. With the manual it is acceptable. On the other hand, an simple, rugged power train that has given eight years of flawless service. My only problem is that I need to put an extra quart of oil in the engine every other month now. I can live with that.

Convenience Package
Towing Package (stronger shocks, radiator cooler, etc...)

Strength:

Confortable, good passenger and cargo space.

Weakness:

Purchased it May 1999. From very first drive home detected a vibration when driving high speeds (over 78 MPH), gets worse pass 80, terrible at 85. Tires have been re-balanced many times, rotors replaced, suspension checked. To this day 3 different Chrysler dealers have been unable to correct the problem. We have learn to live with it. Very disappointed with quality of this product.

Paid around $25K incl tax/Lic. Could have done a lot better if waited for the Honda Odyssey, from what I've seen a far superior product for about the same money. I'm in the process of buying additional warranty. Anyone that owns a Chrysler product should do the same.
