Strength:

Great gas mileage, size, Ecellent Road Handling, roomy, storage, suv feel in a smaller car, driver cockpit is great with well lit dash and easy to reach controls. The Price and incentives.

Weakness:

I can't find any.

I Purchased the car with under 200 hundred miles. I have now drive over 100 miles and continually am affirmed in my decision to purchase this vehicle. The combination of Pontiac style and Toyota reliability is perfect, plus the sheek look of the car definitely gets attention. Gas mileage is great both city and highway. The Vibe is roomy handles nicely with good pick-up on the freeway. Engine is quiet and the overall comfort of driving this vehicle is remarkable, I can't believe I am in a smaller car but have the suv feel. The moon roof definely is a must. Mike, Prescott, AZ

Strength:

Great on gas! A lot of room, people are impressed once they are in it, the outer appearance is deceiving. Handles great.

Weakness:

My ignition! Sometimes the keys will not come out. First, I couldn't get car started, key would not turn to start the car was told move steering wheel back and forth, so ok now that works. BUT NOW the switch will not come back all the way to lock for removal. I have placed two calls and I am waiting for a response. I can't have driven this vehicle for 8000 miles and then become "stupid" as to how to remove the key. This is extremely frustrating as I do not believe in leaving keys in a parked car and while the key is in this position, all accessories must be off to prevent draining battery, the the clock lights remain on. ANYONE else have this problem?

I love my Vibe with the exception of problematic ignition switch

I'm 6'3", 250lbs, and I feel very comfortable in it. Two child seats in the back seat still leaves plenty of room up front. Great for hauling loads of "whatever". I like it!

Weakness:

Have not had a single problem, (keeping fingers crossed)! Got a lot more for the money than what I ever expected.

Great Vehicle! Originally looked at for my first year college kid. My wife liked it for getting around town, so I bought her one, she can't keep me out of it. We take it on weekend trips or just zip around the country and through the city. I have nothing but praise for this model of GM (or Toyota) enginuity!

Strength:

Smooth automatic tranny coupled to the 1.8 liter engine. Engine feels stronger than a person would think (my opinion). This model doesn't have AWD so the engine has less weight to pull. Lots of storage space.

Weakness:

Driving position so-so. Seats need to be more firm with lumbar support.

Wanted to replace my 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara, a lease turn-in. I wanted good gas mileage with the same use of an SUV (on road). Toyota Matrix, and Vibe caught my attention. So far I'm satisfied with it. It does have a Japanese engineering feel. Everything designed on this vehicle is Japanese (Toyota), windows, doors, engine compartment etc. When driving, it feels solid. But I think the cockpit layout could be GM's, I could be wrong, but who knows. This vehicle is a lot better than the Grand Vitara in performance and cargo space.

Strength:

I like the rev of the engine in the GT model. Styling is nice inside and out. Gas mileage. Braking is good. Layout of the controls.

Weakness:

There is a funky holder for something under the shifter that never stays closed. I use it for my sunglasses and it being open doesnt bother nothing. Shifting to second is sometimes cumbersome. I think that has to do with the lockout of reverse, you have to push down to get into reverse and when your shifting to second the push down toward you is sometimes enough for the tranny to think you want to go into reverse and it locks you out of second. During a quick start from a stop the front tires will spin and pull to either left or right, same as in a rear wheel drive but the feeling is in the front.

Overall I am satisfied with the car. It gets good gas mileage in both city and highway driving. Is very roomy with cargo space and for passengers. Handles better than I expected, and looks good. I feel the controls are convenient and use is easy, and cup holders for the front and back are nice.

I dont think I have driven a similar product. I have however owned a 2001 Hyundai Sonata, 2000 Mustang GT, 1997 Nissan Altima, 1993 Infiniti G20. I like the Vibe GT over all those except for the Mustang GT, I just loved that car.

Strength:

Build Quality. Interior Room and layout. Absolutely rattle free. Excellent value for price. Toyota Reliability. Better looking than the Matrix (to me anyway)

Weakness:

With 130hp and automatic tranny, no one will mistake a this Vibe for a Vette or M5. It is a tad slow but not painfully so. It is slightly buzzy under hard acceleration.

After extensive shopping for a small SUV and variations I always seemed to come back to the Vibe. The interior room and flexible layout are top shelf. The build quality, looks, and gas mileage continue to impress. I did opt for the 130 HP slush box variant mainly because I’m tired of rowing gears for now. This particular Vibe is pretty well optioned out and is from my point of view a very good value. I took a road trip when the car had less than 200 miles. It managed 31 mpg on the road. Until it was a bit broken in, I only managed about 22 mpg in the city. Now with a few more miles on the odo I’m seeing about 25 / 26 in the city. Thus far the car has been flawless.

Lots of room for people and cargo!! Zippy for a 1.8 liter 130 hp engine. Better with a K&N filter!! Got 36 miles per gallon on the highway!! Great handling!!

Weakness:

Steering wheel is uncomfortable while holding it at the 12:00 position, the steering wheel needs to tilt towards the driver, not just up & down adjustments.

This car is great on gas. Very comfortable for long trips. The Vibe is very responsive in the handling department. Has plenty of storage and cargo space for whatever you need to put in it. The biggest decision maker for me was the size of the Vibe inside. I'm 6'4" and 280 lbs and I fit very well with room to spare. Head room is great even with the moon roof option(moon & tunes package). Overall I would recommend this car for anyone.

Also looked at the Toyota Matrix but wanted an American nameplate. Even though most parts are Toyota/Denso anyway but still says Pontiac.

Ready for whatever you throw at it. Easily customizable. Toyota VVT-i engine. Better than Matrix styling. Fuel economy. Great road trip car, especially with the moon and tunes package. Theres nothing better than having the roof and all the windows open, and the awesome stereo up as loud as you can stand it.

Weakness:

Base model a bit sluggish. Loud engine when accelerating. Has been the shop for a camshaft position sensor and I've only had the car for two months.

I purchased the Vibe in June, and I like it more each time I drive it. It is a very unique, versatile, and fun to drive car-if you would call it that. The gray plastic cladding, however, was ugly, so I recommend the monotone package.

Strength:

-The style is very convienant (hatch, 4 doors) -Lots of room, most people are surprised when they finally get inside. -Lots of compartments for junk, etc -Excellant handling -The seats are high like in an SUV -Great on gas

Weakness:

-Dash is difficult to view in sunlight -Metallic trim reflects on winsheild (annoying!) -Passengers side rook rack came loose -Drivers side window console broke off -Poor pick up

I fell in love with the idea and look of the Vibe when it first came out. I have been driving around in it for almost 6 months now and my opinion hasnt changed any. I have put a over 12000 miles on it and it is still running very well, with regular oil changes of course.

Strength:

Great on gas. I mean this baby can go 650km with a full tank of gas. Smooth as hell, sporty looking with 130 horse powers.

Weakness:

Sometimes it does feel slow with the accelaration.

First of all let me tell you how I fall in love with this car. about 5-6 months ago I started to see these awsome looking cars called Matrix, then I made a research about it and found out about the vibe. I started to notice the vibes on the roads. I love both (Matrix and the Vibe) designes. The reason I choise the vibe because it is not bubblly looking like the Metrix and it has that 0% fanancing. Its been 3 weeks that I bought it and I get lots of compliments from totall strangers about the car. I bought it for $29,700 canadian. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.
