my corvette could beat it

My C-5 Z06 is much better than any japanese car ever built. It could wipe the floor with the NSX for almost 30,000 dollars to spare. The smart buyer will not buy this imitation corvette nut go for the real thing that could whoop its butt any day of the week.

Strength:

Performance, handling, interior, reliable, quite fast, SUPER CAR, exotic, attention, head turner, very few made , from 91 - 2003 only around 11,500 total, hand built in Tochigi, Japan, not here, like some other makes and models

Weakness:

Eats rear tires, insurance can run a little high so you may want to look around for a good company, low entry and exit but depends on you and your passenger special ordering both OEM and aftermarket parts can take some time but worth it considering how rare the car is. Find a good place that can service your car because it is mid engine and tuned differently than an average honda engine.

The NSX is a well balanced, built well, japanese ferrari like sports car. If you are serious about buying one you should buy one with either as much money as you can put down along maybe with financing involved and one that is in the best condition possible. Not to say that there might be one thats a great deal out there but you have to factor in things like who owned it and how did that person take care of it. But anyways onto the cars ability before digressing off the topic. What can anyone say other than that the NSX is a respected, very reliable, and technologically advanced and superior sports car. Not to say that other ones aren't good as well, but I have tested my best of the best and the NSX just seems to shine inside and out. And with the aftermarket for Japanese imports these days, the possibilites are ohh soo endless. The NSX can run and even outrun if you know what your doing all the Big Dogs out there and yes even take out a Ferrari or two, and even a Porsche. But then again, driver skills do play a factor if you do know how to drive properly. But in this case, NSX just won out. I tested several makes such as Porsche 911 both turbo and non. Ferrari mostly the 355 and even Modena, was nice but came at too nice a price for my taste. Plus the fact that you may have to mortgage a house just to get one or take out two or three loans, Dodge Viper was just too much HP And TQ for anyone to even handle too tricky at the limit, Vette C5, too common, SUPRA twin turbo and Nissan Skyline GTR VSPEC, nice but two heavy and the turbos get in the way, wanted something naturally aspirated but able to be taken to the next leve. etc. The NSX is a definite contender in the SUPERCAR Arena.

Strength:

Performance and handling are superb even as stock, but once you research out the potential of the VTEC engine esp. the manual you should be amazed at what this engine can do. NO BS. Build quality is up there with the rest of them. Reliable. Reliable. Reliable. Even constant redlining to 8000 won't hurt the car.

Weakness:

none other than your imagination in creating your own NSX that's built to outrun even the best.

This car is really made to last even though you can punish it all the time both on the street and on the track. It's basically Italian styled combined with Japanese reliability, quality and build issues are excellent for a car of this value both new and pre owned. It's like the De Tomaso Pantera of the domestic market but built better and made to last. The performance and handling of this auto are second to none and Science of Speed takes care of all the horsepower needs anybody will ever want. Personally, I have mine hopped up to five hundred fifty horsepower, with a supercharger and all the other required goodies that go with mods of course. No nitrous, doesnt need it since she only weighs in at 2700 lbs. But kept the necessary creature comforts to keep it sort of luxury but no problems at all.

Strength:

Reliability, Looks, Sound, driving position, fun to drive

Weakness:

Power, it could always use a little more. (many SC options available) If it does break, it is expensive to fix. Goes through tires fast. Mods are NOT cheap.

This has always been a dream car for me and I finally found one that fit my budget. The car is incredible. It is so much fun to drive, you get tons of attention (which can be both + and -). It could use more power, but on the street you really can't use it anyway. The NSX also has one of the best sites for NSX enthusiasts at www.nsxprime.com. I have also driven the car on the track and it is truly incredible. Forget 0-60, go to the track and you will forever love the car. If you are thinking of getting this car, wait no longer! Get it! Anyone who speaks badly of the car has most likely just never driven it.

Strength:

Looks, handling, car at speed, gas mileage, stability, reliability.

Weakness:

Exhaust system should be more evident, louder, visceral as part of the experience. Auto enthuiasts and the general publics' pre-conceived ideas and mis-conceptions that this car does not have race breeding, paid its' dues nor deserves to be mentioned in the same sentance as the Italians, German or British makes.

Absolutely the best handling vehicle I've ever driven! Performance on many levels: handling, acceleration, braking, everyday driver and racecar, looks and ego. This car does it all. It is truly an extension of ones' self. Its' 3,000 lb weight feels like more on the road from a stability standpoint but exceptionaly light (like a go-cart) in your hands as you direct it down the road, around corners and through tight driver restrictive traffic. Taking 35 mph corners at 75 mph and not flinching, the car sits down and you feel every bump, wiggle, pebble on the road. Whether you take a 6 hr. road trip and feel completely relaxed or a 15 minute run up to the store, completely exhilarated depending on the road and your mood, this car delivers and is ready for anything you give it. This car in the hands of a novice or average driver makes you feel like a surgeon with a scalpal whereas other similar cars are like a good knife in the hands of a cook. Very predictable!

Strength:

Hearing the V-Tech kick in at 6000 right behind your head in second gear as you hit about 70 mph. This car uses NO OIL! At 3000 miles afer the first oil change, the oil is still clear and at the full line! Seems like a new engine. The originalowner swaers he changed at recommended 7500 interval so that what I do now as well. Have just had to add oil and gas to this thing. Just like owning an Accord that goes very fast and handles like nothing else. Eats M3s.

Weakness:

Dealers want $80 for an oil change. I ask and they say "Pennzoil" so I get a Honda oil filter and head off to a trusted quick change place and watch them like a hawk. No power steering on this early model so a bit heavy low speed, just right when going. With no engine up front, the first time you head into a sharp corner kinda hot you''ll discover weight balance..it can get a little light under the right combination like cresting a hill and turning..have to be carefull. Really low front end makes it hard coming out of parking lots.

It had 93000 miles on it when I bought it from the original owner who had the dealer install a new transmission and clutch after the snap ring failed on him. At the same time, the timing belt and all drive belts were changed and the A/C was recharged. The window lift thingies were fixed as well. I was essentially getting a new car. Its everything I thought it would be and more. Extremely neutral handling, great acceleration, shifts perfectly, great powerfull stereo, very comfortable on long drives, relativly quiet daily driver. I''m 6''3" and still fit in it. Easy to work on as I''ve upgraded rotors to cross drilled and stainless steel brake lines and added stiffer sway bars. The car is great on the track or the street. With the brake upgrades, couldn''t get it to fade even though the wheels were too hot to touch after the run. I''ve only had it to 140 MPH but it felt like 60, so stable and unaffected. Tire wear hasn''t been as bad as I expected. The OEM 207 rears were new when I got it and I still have them on after 14,000 miles still not to the wear bars. This includes a day at the track. Kinda fun when I pull next to some guy that has a fart in a coffee can muffler, clear tail lights, and stickers. Why doesn''t he want to race?

Strength:

Acceleration, braking, and handling. Excellent gas mileage. Can be driver as an everyday vehicle.

Weakness:

Expensive maintenance and the "Oh, it''s just a Honda" effect.

I purchased my 94 model 3 years ago. This was one year after I graduated from college, so I had saved some money for a down payment and got the rest financed. I was in love with the car ever since I first saw the photo in R&T, and it was my fantasy to own one. The last few years have been an absolute dream. I took it to 165 in the Arizona desert, had a number of tremendous races with all sorts of challengers: M3''s, Boxsters, Vette''s, Vipers, etc... Unfortunately, Ferrari & Lamborghini owners never seemed to want to race (maybe because it''s so hard to control those damn cars that they are afraid they will crash). Acceleration, braking, and handling are all phenomenal. Girl literally threw their panties at me, and I got prime parking spots in front of restaurants and night clubs. The other day though, I parked next to a 360 Modena Spyder. That was the first time I had actually seen the Spyder in real life, and I was absolutely shell-shocked. It looked like a beast, with its wide & aggressive shoulders and stance. My NSX didn''t seem as fierce as it once was. Hopefully one day I will be able to afford one and I can drive my NSX in the daytime and the Mod Spyder on the weekends.

Strength:

HANDELING! Nothing can stay with it. With a few after Market items , this becomes a true world class sports car. Dash layout is great.

Weakness:

After market parts are expensive for this car. The six cylinder Honda requires a huge investment to gain Horsepower.

Bone stock I was ripping through corners way ahead of vettes and porsches, but after adding high flow intake and exhaust, competition suspention and breaks and stall converter to the 4 speed automatic transmission, not only am I in a REAL worlclass sports car, but I run in the low 120's thru the 1/4 mile. There are several new corvette owners in the S.W.Florida area who wish the would not have reved thier engines at me while at a red light.

Similar Products Used:

I also own a '99 BMW M Roadster and a '01 vette (both bone stock)and I beat all three cars together and the handsdown winner is the NSX. Then I started upgrading the NSX. Now there is NO Doubt that the NSX is in a leage of its own.
