Camaro V6 RS
Strength:
1. Lots of torque for the money (fun to drive) 2. Aggressive looks with RS option. 3. Comfortable front seats and leg room for the person under 6 feet tall.
Weakness:
1. Camaro V6 is far slower than it looks. 2. Imagewise: any BMW instantly wins without racing) 3. Flimzy plastis panels, particularly in the hatch (never perfectly fit after using the spare tire). Bought the car brand new and never had any mechanical problems in 3.5 years. Taking it easy at winter, had no problem on the snow with 100 pound of sand bags in the trunk. Resume: definitely worth the money paid! Similar Products Used: Honda Accord V6 |

Strength:
Aggresive looks and styling. Engine performance is unbelievable! Over all handling is excellent. Comfortable (front)seats. T-tops are nice on cooler days (they have never leaked). Has been reliable for 2+ years now. No repairs outside of usual maintenance. Great sound system.
Weakness:
The car is noisy. Not just the engine which I don''t mind, but especialy the suspension. There are a lot of little flexing noises and creaks when driving over uneven road, pot holes or speed bumps. The over all ride is a bit rough. But thats because of the stiffer suspension. The back seats are for insurence purposes only. If you are over 6 feet tall headroom might be an issue. I love this car. I have a lot of fun driving this car every day. It has more bang for the buck than anything else on the road. For a car under 29,000 sales price nothing else has more power and performace. Even some considerably more expensive cars can''t touch it. Buy this car if you love raw power and perfomance, not if you want a refined cruiser. Similar Products Used: 1996 Z28 |

Camaro
Strength:
Fun to drive, price, value for money, looks, the exhaust sound, T-tops
Weakness:
Not much. I have owned this car from new and it has been great! Tremendous fun to drive. Has the T-tops which I use a lot and recommend. I chose the V6 (3.4) because I had teenage sons. Low end torque and horsepower at 3500 rpm are very similar to the 3.8l V6. It has 65000 miles on it and is about ready to be traded in. But I have been spoiled. I don''t know what else to get except another Camaro. Hasn''t been that reliable. A fuel pump cost me $1000 to have replaced. Always burning out headlights. Overall, has averaged 40c/mile at 10,000 miles per year. Similar Products Used: 1970 Formula 400 Firebird; 1969 GTO. |

Strength:
Treat your Camaro well, it will treat you VERY well. All is wonderful, as expected, up to 110k. Even at 112k, same engine(excellant), same tranny(excellant), body is solid (superior). NO car can beat the style!! Classy car for the young and young-at-heart!!! This car was never a "cop magnet" because I drove it like a fine piece of china/legally!!
Weakness:
Choose your tires carefully!! TA''s are not good tires for Camaros. Even with different tires, Camaros weren''t made for snow and ice so handle with care. RECALL on the paint!! Paint was peeling off terribly!! GM paid for complete paint job WITH a lifetime warranty on the paint!! Thank you GM !!! AT 80k headliner replaced. After 110k many things started going wrong.. but nothing MAJOR.. considering the miles... struts, stabilizer bar, alternator, radiator.. typical stuff, but more than my tiny budget can afford. I bought this car when it was four years old, at 35k miles. This is the fifth Camaro I''ve owned. The only reason I ever sold the others was to upgrade, except my ''82 was hit from the side and just wasn''t the same after that.. like any car. This car has been my best friend... hense the name Comrade'', pal, chum (look it up in the french dictionary). I''m selling it soon to a fellow Camaro lover (wasn''t even for sale)... so I know it will have a good home. Even though most Camaros are a great value for their price... I must back down to a less expensive/stylish car. :*( This car has been the best thing FOR my life.. single Mom.. perfect for the self-esteem. Even better for our budget. Strength:
Strongest hp and 8 Cylinder in its class. Great sound system. Great jolting power. Great looks and safety features. Too dam good
Weakness:
I''m sorry, I must have been misinformed. Is there such a thing with the camaro? Other cars I could understand. Let''s begin, I don''t like JAP CRAP, nor mustangs. I like true power from my 305 hp camaro. It is said that a true muscle car has to have atleast 300 hp. Where were you on that one Mustang gt and JAP CRAPS? I truely do get looks, not like everyone else who''s just saying that. Camaros are way to potent for any other car in it''s class. So hows about some competition! I''m getting too tired of beating all types of stangs nad JAP CRAP cars off the line. Similar Products Used: I''ve test driven some great cars, but none more nitty griddy than a camaro. It''s raw, not a slow luxury. Did I mention I hate Jap Crap. |

CHEVY CAMARO 3.4L
Strength:
great power for a v6 (i hit 90mph and car is under 3000rpm), better top end that low end (for freeway races), awesome head-turning looks
Weakness:
wish doors were a bit shorter to make an easier exit (i am 6''2'''' 195ibs), at time hope for better low end power I absolutely love this car. I am 17 and got my camaro in late August of this year used, so far i have been very impressed with it. for being a 3.4l auto, it is strong. of coarse it doesnt compare with a z28, but insurance and gas are WAY lower, and u still get the awesome look. a black v6 camaro with ttops off and chrome wheels polished gets just as many looks as a z28! Strength:
Rumbling 5.7L 305+ hp V8. Effortless power/acceleration Styling Tons of aftermarket parts available 6spd is nice
Weakness:
1-4 skipshift on the computer...but easy to disable Would be nice if it had dual mufflers to be a true dual exhaust. Interior is a little cheap and seats not too comfortable.....THAT''S IT! Got mine with just under 15K miles. Hard to find better performance for the buck. The Z28 is not for everyone. If you want a real comfy, civilized vehicle, then opt elsewhere. If you want raw HP and like driving V-8 beasts like I do, the Z28 is the car for you. Similar Products Used: ''93 Mustang LX 5.0- great car but Z is faster and 5th gear useless in the 5.0 |

Camaro
Strength:
It''s not a Caddy but I like and am used to the muscle car feel. It looks great and rides awesome. Good gas mileage for a sports car. Comfy interior, but I''m 5''8".
Weakness:
Where did the trunk go? I had been car shopping for a few weeks and the Camaro was a spur of the moment idea. I drove it and fell in love, it was reasonably priced for a new car, I bought it the next day. This car is pretty fast for a V6 and gets good gas mileage (avg daily driving: 22mpg). The clutch feels great, it shifts with ease, a lot of fun to play with at lights! Friends with Camaros have told me great things and I''m looking forward to years of use! IROC-Z
Strength:
Quite the looker, fast enough, nice handling.
Weakness:
A little plasticky inside. Very difficult for the home mechanic to do anything other than the simplest maintenance. This is my father''s car, but I''ve had a lot of experience with it. He bought this IROC new and has kept in the garage, driving it on weekends. Although it''s fourteen years old, it''s still a beauty. With the T-tops out, people look at it as if they''d pay for a ride. The arrest-me red with black accenting and black cloth interior will always be classic. There are faster cars on the market, but the IROC is plenty fast and a ton of fun. My father keeps his car stock, but you can aftermarket kits that''ll turn a Camaro into a Main Street missile. Handling is great right out of the showroom. Several years ago my father bought the car in for service and found out that it had a cracked block, and a seized brake caliper. The dealer replaced both items (car was still under warranty), and there haven''t been any problems since. If you like to work on cars, the IROC probably isn''t for you. The engine space is tight, and even trying to change the spark plugs is a job for a fully equipped shop. Just be sure that you do get the car maintenance by a good mechanic regularly. I know people who complain about their Camaros being unreliable, but a little probing always reveals oil and plugs that haven''t been changed in 10,000 miles and the like. (My grandfather had a handwritten chart on his garage wall, my father keeps a notebook, and I use auto maintenance charting software. Our cars run like tops.)
