Strength:
Good looks, attractive, show stopper, no foreign car can even touch this baby, lots of power, razor-sharp handling, good realiability, and resale value.
Weakness:
None. This is an awesome car. It was Motor Trend's car of the year for 1998. No imported car comes close to this for the money. It is an excellent deal, and car. Highly recommend it. Similar Products Used: Most Japanese, and European Cars. |

Strength:
Lots of power, good looks, fast, beats any street car or imported car, more bang for your buck.
Weakness:
It's only a 2 seater. This is an awesome awesome car. I have loved it. I highly recommend it. It's got good handling, it's fast, and sporty, also looks good. Forget about those overpriced cheap junky imported cars get this american baby... it ROCKS! Similar Products Used: Most Japanese, and European sports cars. |

C5
Strength:
Love the wheels, and well it's a vette
Weakness:
styling somewhat blatantly copied from NSX. interior not as nice as I'd like, instrument panel not very well mapped out. Although it is a corvette and the 5th generation. I was somewhat disappointed with the all around ownership of this car. The styling falls short because the NSX has been doing it for about 10 years now. Lacks ergonomics and interior comfort which is where you spend your time in it. So in brief the C5 vette falls short of standards. |

Coupe
Strength:
A definite "head-turner". The leather sport seats are extremely comfortable. It feels like I'm driving a Lazy-Boy recliner. Stability at high speed (above 130mph) is unbelievable. The car doesn't shake, vibrate, or tend to rise up. The coupe's removable roof panel makes summer time driving fun, similar to a convertible. The panel is big an bulky, but not heavy; less than 10 lbs. After a little practice, it's easy to remove it and replace it by yourself without dropping it or scratching your car.
Weakness:
So far, the worst feature of this car is the stereo system. The Premium Bose sound system is nothing more than a typical factory type system. AC Delco brand name on the AM/FM/CD player tell the whole story. It has trouble playing "CD-R" discs. Almost my entire collection of CDs are now created on my computer, and over half of them will not play in the car. It's a sign of a cheap CD player. If you ever get the opportunity, buy one! These cars are incredibly fun to drive. The price per performance ratio makes it the best deal on the planet. Don't even think about getting an automatic transmission, go straight for the 6-speed manual. An automatic takes away from the character of the car, as well as the fun of driving. This is not a "Daily-Driver" or "Commuter" car. It's a pure sports car. Expect to have low gas mileage, lots of engine noise, lots of road noise, and very little cargo space. Strength:
Fun,Fast, comfortable. Gets excellent mileage on trips (around 30). I have driven 1000 miles in a day and felt better than I did in my Acura Legend. My coupe has excellent storage/luggage capacity.
Weakness:
Misc electrical gremlins, minor. Recommend to anyone who enjoys driving and performance. It has the room to allow comfortable long-distance travel that Boxster, BMW Z3 and others don't have. Similar Products Used: Nothing compares in its price range, need to spend a great deal more to equal fun factor and performance. |

Corvette
Strength:
Peformance, speed, handling, stopping, civility as a daily driver at a price far less than it's competitors.
Weakness:
Limited interior storage space. Would recommend it as a fun daily driver and as a weekend track car. The C5 is by far the best one yet, will be a hard model to improve on. It is a great example of combining speed, handling and stopping power of much more expensive examples of this type car; and it does it with a degree of comfort never before attained in prior year Corvettes. As a car of its type, there are some tradeoffs, so buying one for the first time requires a long test drive. Depends what your priorities are when it comes to a genuine sports car. If it's a sports car you want you would do well to try one before you buy anything in its class. Similar Products Used: Porsche 911, Shelby Mustang, XKE Jag, 1984 'vette, 280Z Datsun; compares very favorably in all categories. |

Strength:
This car looks good and is powerful. The car has enough power to be the king of the hill and docile at the same time. Smooth but responsive. This car is really a great piece of work by the American automotive industry.
Weakness:
Radio is weak. I love this car! Similar Products Used: Much better. |

Corvette Coupe
Strength:
Everything! The Legend Continues...... The C5 is without a doubt the best sports car for the money....hands down. The sleekness of the exterior turns heads of all ages. The interior not only caresses you as you sit in it, but envelopes you and makes you one with the car. The ergonomics are almost perfect, leading edge technology awesome, the HUD (Head-Up Display), "Driver's Information Center", the LS1 Engine and the car's cornering capability are unequaled. To quote Motor Trend, New Car Buyer's Guide 1999 "Ultimately, there are faster performance cars. And there are certainly more expensive sports cars, but the C5 Corvette is one of the world's greatest sports cars." In my opinion, "Ditto for the 2001!" If you want to drive the "American Icon", step into the "greatest" sports car ever designed. Do yourself a favor...go test drive a Corvette, she'll be the "love of your life" forever.
Weakness:
Small, basically non-existent cupholder. Highly recommend it. I've owned 3 other Corvettes ('64, '65, '66). The C5 beckons people of all ages, from 16 to 60. See "strength" comments above. There isn't enough time or space to list all the reasons you should own one. At least go test drive one. Even the gas mileage is surprising! 28-30 mpg on the interstate!!!!! 18 mpg in the city....!! Corvette Convertible
Strength:
Excellent power and torque throughout the rev range. Very solid feeling car. I can't believe the level of performance and rigidity for a convertible, car turns heads everywhere. Handling is fantastic, traction/active handling system is very good. Build quality is above what I expected for a Chevrolet product. No defects at delivery. Convertible is very easy and quick, can easily be dropped or raised at a signal.
Weakness:
Gas bill...My own fault hehe, runflats are noisy and even though the ride is very compliant, it would be better with non-run flat tires. The Corvette seems to be a real bargain when you compare performance and features vs. other high performance cars, Porsche, Viper, NSX. It has a level of performance that is unmatched at its price point and is a very easy car to live with as a daily driver. Though I have two other cars and a motorcycle, the Vette has seen the majority of miles. The car has gobs of power, it has a huge cult following and there are hundreds of little things you can do to mod your car to make it your own. People yell and wave and give you the thumbs up everywhere you go. It is a very fun car to drive and is a talking point wherever it happens to be. Similar Products Used: Had ordered a Porsche and got tired of waiting. Vette is substantially faster and rides better. |
