Ford Mustang (2010 and older) Sports

DESCRIPTION

The Mustang has been redesigned for 2010. Fresh new sheet metal wraps around an updated interior, giving the icon a more modern look and feel.

The Mustang is available either as a coupe or convertible. Each is available with a V6 or a V8. The 210-hp 4.0L V6 carries over unchanged. The 4.6L V8 receives an increase in power - producing 315-hp for 2010. A five-speed manual transmission is standard; a five-speed automatic is optional. All Mustangs are equipped with standard electronic stability control and LED sequential tail lamps for enhanced safety.

Excellent Paint, Looks, Wheels, Engine, Overall fit and finish is quality. Quiet ride but a again, a nice throaty engine growl Cockpit like a fighter.

Weakness:

As indicated in other reviews the interior plastic parts are a liitle bland and the carpet is cheap. LEather seats are nice but not plush

Great bang for the buck. A real head turner that looks a mustang should! I opted for the 6 cyl (for daughter) with side airbags, ABS, auto, sirrius, leather, antitheft system and the pony package. Its a peppy engine that has a nice little growl to it. Car rides stiff but handles well. Got a greta deal through the X-plan and NUMEROUS cash back incentives.

Strength:

Very fun to drive. For a college girl it does attract attention.

Weakness:

Requires you to be a better driver in snow. It will fishtail and you will be stuck when others are going fine. For me this is a small price to pay for driving such a fun car.

I bought the stang on looks and handling. I loved how it felt to drive. Previously I'd had a Camaro which seemed clunky compared to this car. In Michigan I have to use this as an all weather car. Many complain about Mustangs in snow but I've not had really bad luck. I've gotten stuck a few times but never so bad a push or tow couldn't get me out.

I actually think driving this car in snow has made me a better driver. I've had to learn about momentum, braking, when to use gas, when not to. More than anything its the other idiots that cause me trouble. The ones that stop in front of me on the hill I'm trying to get up that drive me insane.

The first year I had it I probably got stuck the most since I didn't know the car. Since then the problems in snow have diminished to perhaps one or two a year.

I did have one case on totally flat ground on a freshly plowed road, I stopped to take a picture of the snow cover. When I got back in I couldn't move. Not one inch forward or backward. Talk about puzzled! When I looked out my rear wheels were spinning freely at idle (I have an automatic). I still to this day have no idea why I was so stuck. There was only like 1/4 inch of snow! I used carpets under my wheels to get moving.

Generally the car takes me where I want to go in comfort. Maintenance has been almost zero. Just oil changes and minor service.

Strength:

nice ride, power driver seat, simple radio layout

Weakness:

During the winter when I would start the car and the RPM gage would go crazy until the idle came down. I went to the dealer and a mechanic but no one could find the problem.

Nice car, interior hasn't changed since the late 90's models.

I've been in love with Mustangs since I knew what they were. When I was 18 I finally could afford one myself. Well, I could afford the 6 cylinder coupe, but I wanted the GT!! I drove the hell out of it but finally wrecked it after a year or so. After the wreck it went down hill. Some kind of pin in the shifting area broke and I couldn't get out of park one day before work. It had to be towed but the warranty covered that. I split my manifold exhaust in half somehow and it sounded like a bumble bee. The pick up is not always great especially with the AC on. It handles curves great except wet ones going too fast! *whoops* The tires are expensive as hell. It's not a good family car, more of a play toy.

Ive had two mustang 5.0's now a 91 and a 87 they are both amazing and they are very fast but are horrible in the snow so if you like style speed and decent gas mileage you should definately get a 5.0

Leaky Roof, Plain Interior (As were all mustangs of that model.)

My first car and byfar most wonderful... (excluding my Talon). It was a convertible, 4 cyclinder. Ran smooth, timing belt broke, took no time to fix and it ran again like never before. The top would leak a little but it wasn't too terrible.

Car was coming up on 20 years old, and parts were getting harder to find.

My wife drove this 1987 Mustang for 9 years, then we drove it another 10 years after we got married. 19 years--not to shabby! This little tank was rear-ended twice in it's 19-year life, and only had a small scratch on the back bumper. Very solid car, and reliable. Replaced transmission at 95,000 miles. Finally traded it in at 120,000 miles. It had some small rust spots on the roof when I didn't get bird droppings cleaned off quickly. Replaced the tires, brakes, alternator, and starter. Finally traded it in 2005 for an 05 Taurus. The Taurus is big and nice, but we sometimes miss our peppy little Mustang.

Overall value of the car, stereo, premium style rims, runs on 87 octane.

Weakness:

Not that fast

I actually picked this thing up the day the 05's hit the showroom floor at Friendly Ford. It was bright red with light grey leather interior. It had only 33K miles so I thought I got a pretty good deal. It was a bone stock automatic. I actually wanted a 2004 GTO at the time but could not quite afford one (I got an 06 GTO a month ago, traded the stang in). I would still definitely recommend this generation Mustang if you are in the market because you can get one for pretty cheap and they are decent performers. Only thing I did was change the battery.

I owned an 83 Capri Black Magic about 15 yrs ago. I was lokking for one again recently and couldnt find one anywhere(that was in decent shape). So i started looking at 87-93 GT'S. I looked at alot and about 99% of them were either beaten or ripped apart in some way. I finally came across this one. A 1988 GT Convertible 100% stock and never screwed with with 67,000 origanil miles. Car is in perfect condition white top , white paint and red interior. What a find. I take my wife and two daughters out in it with the top down on nice days. Its an absolute pleasu8re to drive and everyone has a smile on there faces. If you want a nice muscle car and have patience to look for a nice one buy a fox body mustang. You cant beat the price.

Wiring Defects

My New Ford Mustang
For those of you who may be interested in purchasing a Ford, please read my testimonial prior to making your decision.

I purchased a Ford Mustang from Troy Aikman Ford on April 14, 2006. By April 21st, the "Service Engine Soon" light had already come on. I took it in for service and was told the problem was "no big deal", a hose had more than likely wriggled loose when the car was in transport from the manufacturer to the dealership.

By May 5th, I'd figured out that every time I turned on my right blinker, my rear-window defroster came on. When I pressed the rear-window defroster button, the right blinker illuminated. Also, one of my fog lamps had already burned out. I took it in for service that Saturday morning. After keeping my car an entire weekend, Ford assured me that my wiring problem had been fixed. I picked up my car Monday evening after work. Tuesday morning I realized that my door lock remotes didn't work. When I took my car in to get them reprogrammed, I realized that it was my fourth trip to the dealership (including the day I bought my car) in four weeks.

Very long story not quite as long as it could be, I asked Troy Aikman Ford to give me another Mustang. They refused. They did offer me a free warranty, which I accepted. I requested a refund on the warranty I'd purchased with the car. It's been six weeks and, after seven unreturned phone calls, I finally found out that my paperwork "could not immediately be located". (i.e. It's going to take another six weeks to get my money back.)

Please don't buy a Ford product. If you absolutely have to have a Ford, please do not purchase through Troy Aikman Ford!!!
