Strength:

Looks great. Very sexy car. Couldn't stop looking at it.
Very quick, lots of fun above 4000 rpms.
BOSE sound system sounded nice.
AGILE!!! Carves curves around town nicely.

Weakness:

Notchy transmission. Second gear was stubborn to get into/out of. Very small interior. BOSE CD-player was horribly susceptible to skipping.
Rearward visibility is garbage.

Fun car, but has a real high C.O.O. (Cost of Ownership) Everything on the car is expensive to replace. Really expensive. Cooling fan $295. Installed, $600. Just an example. A whole lot of fun to drive, as long as you don't mind a slightly-too-bumpy ride. Very quick and nimble, but being as light as it is in the rear, it likes to dog-track a little if you give it too much gas, as any rear-wheel-drive car will do.

Car is quick enough without a turbo to get into plenty of trouble with. Turbo, to me, just adds one more worry.

Lost of fun, but lots of $$.

To do it over again, I'd get a Saleen Mustang. Much easier to find parts for.

'89 Toyota MR2 Supercharged is a little quicker, but do not attempt to get in it unless you're absolutely sure you're not claustrophobic. The 300ZX feels solid and sure-footed comparatively, and it's much better-looking.

Strength:

GOOD BANG FOR THE BUCK. WITH OVER 150,000 MILES SHE IS STILL RUNNING STRONG.

Weakness:

WEIGHT. 3200 LBS IS A LITTLE HEAVY FOR THE 165 HORSES, AND SHE TOO LIGHT IN THE REAR END. LIKE MOST OLDER NISSANS, RUST CAN BE A PROBLEM.

GOOD, RELIABLE CAR WITH ADEQUATE SPEED & HANDLING

LE BARON TURBO IS SLIGHTLY LIGHTER AND SOMEWHAT QUICKER, BUT LACKS THE SEX APPEAL. COMPARED TO THE LE BARON PUSH THE NISSAN IS LOOSEY GOOSEY. THE QUALITY OF THE NISSAN IS MUCH BETTER. A SOLID CAR.

Model Reviewed: 300zx non-turbo for sale

Strength:

Fast and fun, My car has only 87,000 miles on it and book value on it last time I checked was 12,500. I will sell mine for 6,900 firm due to minor cosmetic work that the car needs.

Weakness:

Heavy car, thats really its only down fall, but who cares it still looks bad ass.

One of the best looking sports cars in my opinion. They are fast and beautiful looking at the same time. Their low stance and wide body give it an appealing look like no other car. If you are looking for a 300zx non- turbo with low miles that needs minor cosmetic work I have one for sale. It runs excellent, just needs minor and I stress minor body and interior work. The car is pearl white on tan leather, 5 speed, polished Z wheels, new timing belt, water pump, clutch, cam seals, drive belts, starter, It only has 87,000 original miles on it. The car needs two fenders, maybe a bumper cover, and a little interior work due to having the t-tops off to often. Tan interior fades quick in the hot Florida sun. Email me for more details at supra2009, serious inquires only please, cheapest 300zx you will find for the money.

Strength:

The car runs great and it very powerful. it has a smooth ride and is very comfortable. parts are easy to find and is a great car.

Weakness:

it rust in the rear end and the handling isnt to good around 85-90 mph.

When i first seen the 300ZX i fell in love with the car. so i had to go out and find one. i got the first one in excellent condition and havent had major problems with the car. there was many little minor problems but around my way many people have these cars and parts were easily abtained. i have two as of now a automatic and stick both 86' non turbos and they run excellent. i prefer the stick because it takes off much faster and is more fun to drive. they both are powerful cars and good looking. the car makes people turn there heads every time i drive bye. i would like to find an ae to add to my collection, but havent been able to find one. i would recommend these type of cars to anyone.

Strength:

Ride, look, ergonimics, classy design that has aged well.
Strong responsive V6.
Chicks dig it.
Well built, everything is connected solidly to metal.

Weakness:

Not as refined as a Honda or Toyota built the same year.
Leather wears quickly - like all leather.
Expensive parts / maintenance.
Guzzles gas.

Love this car, it has a soul unlike so many cookie cutter vehicles. The power, ergonmics, and ride are all well thought out. The engine, though a non-turbo, is very strong with a deep 'Mustang' sounding exhause note. The na engine has enough power to compete with most vehicles and get you in trouble with the law - the turbo is for mature experienced drivers or it will get you killed. For a car that will soon be ten years old it performs like a champ and people still ask if it is new. With regular maintenance and tlc they last a long time. The t-tops take a little time to remove and stow but it is worth it for the open air drive. The only problems are minor. The doors are very Corvetter like in that they are clunky. They don't have the single reassuring thump like other imports but more of a ca-clunk as if several things are moving around in there. The manual transmission is good, but not a Honda. There is a lot of heat leak into the cabin. When the car has been running a while you can put your hand in the glove box or center console and notice a temperature difference - this makes the interior artificially warm. Maintenance is tough due to the cramped engine bay. Hey these are minor complaints - it's still an awesome car.
