Strength:
Low, unique styling. Outstanding handling and a comfortable interior.
Weakness:
Useless back seat, stiff ride and could always use a little more power. :) I purchased my 300ZX-2+2 with 150,000 miles on it and a few minor dings on the bright red body. The car still looks and drives great, however, and after an additional 30,000 miles I wouldn''t take anything for it. The normally-aspirated 3.0L V6 is strong enough to spin the rear wheels at will, but taking on serious muscle cars at stoplights is out of the question for the most part. The handling is superb with excellent road feel, and the 5-speed transmission shifts with quick, precise throws. The ride is firm and occaisionally harsh, but well worth it when the car sticks to curves like glue. The interior is nicely done, although it took some time to get used to the placement of controls. The charcoal leather is thin and wearing in a few spots, but the seats are supportive and wrap around you like they should. The stock Bose radio is worthless and VERY expensive to replace, so I took on the somewhat difficult task of replacing the sound system with an aftermarket one. My friends all loathe riding in the tiny back seat, but I love the extra space and longer body. I replaced the power steering arm at about 160,000 miiles for about $600 and two warped rims for $130 each. The slick glass T-tops leak slightly so new rubber will likely be needed soon. Otherwise, just routine maintenance. |

Strength:
The best looking car on the road in my opinion. I bought a brite white one with the rear spoiler. It has very clean lines. Roadholding - sticks like glue in the corners - helped out greatly I am sure by the extra wide Z rated tires. Cruising with the sun shining and the T-Tops out (Awesome) Bose sound system, helped out with an updated cd player and additional speakers and amps.
Weakness:
Insurance is a little higher the my 200 SX but that was expected. I have seen many complaints about fuel econpmy in the other reviews. I am averaging a little over 20MPG. I have been looking for a 300 ZX 2+2 in great condition with an auto trans for about 2 years. I have driven about a dozen and even tried to but 1 other one. But this one is a dream. Absolutly beautiful condition in and out. Only had 84,000 original miles on it. It is very quick and corners like a dream. I find myself making excuses to go places just so I can drive it. excellent looks, unbelieveable road holding, comfortable, cant explain its a dream car
Weakness:
parts thats it My car is straight V6 without turbo, but does kick off well compared to other cars. If I campare it to any other sports car on the road i will say its as good as a porshe or any other german or american sports car. I would say its the best ever sports car made by japan Similar Products Used: Supra & Mitsubishi 3000GT |

the gas, mileage, but hey, its all well worth it! Hey fellow Z fans. I not writeing this review to be judged or anything, but only to let everyone know that they are not alone, because I to am very sickly in love with my Z TT. I''ve wanted one for bout 11 yrs now, and now that i have one, its a dream come true! I fell in love with these cars from the first sight. Always hanging my head and toung out the window at red lights drooling over a Z :) The world is divided into two kinds, Z people and the people that think were just nuts. My family and friends think i''m completely nuts over my Z. She gets the best of everything! It''s the best combination of beauty and power and comfort in any car that has ever been maid. For anyone that does''nt have a Z, and wants one, my advice is to get one before they are all gone, I soon plann to take mine off the road to persevere this dream of mine. So for all of you Z fans, "a sickness" or "a deep love",,,, what ever you want to call it, I''ve got it Bad. I''m a true Z fan. Lets all keep the Z alive! Strength:
Everything. A sleeker, more shark-like car you will not find. Interior is functional and comfortable. Since I also have a Ford Explorer the lack of a back seat doesn''t matter a bit. Who wants a back seat in a true sports car anyways.
Weakness:
If anything comes up, I will post it. It''s been a long wait but I just took delivery of the car that I have been dreaming about since they first came out -the Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo. I managed to find a 1991, 300 ZX Twin Turbo (five speed) with only 84,000 kilometers (52,500 miles for our American friends) and that has always been winter stored, which is about five months out of the year here in Calgary. The car was purchased new by a woman friend of mine who appreciated it as much as I do. She was almost crying when I drove away in it (them''s the breaks kiddo). I knew a fair amount about the 300 before I purchased this one, and actually got a lot of my information from the reviews that you folks have written. Thanks for all the info. By all accounts it was, and still is, one of the finest sports cars ever manufactured. My only previous Nissan was a 1985 200 SX Turbo, which was a fine auto and I experienced no problems with that car. Although I keep reading about the high maintenace costs on the 300, I am not too worried as preventative maintenace should defray some of the costs that may be associated with ownership. I am suffering because the car has been sitting in the driveway since I picked it up yesterday because we are experiencing our usual spring here in the Great White North (snow!!). I did spend two hours just sitting in it this morning and drove it four feet (down the driveway and back). I am unable to provide a proper review at this time due to being unable to drive it in this weather but should have it on the road in a couple of weeks. I suspect that my comments will be as enthusiastic as most others have been. This may sound a bit corny, but I''m proud to own this car and I fully intend to give a wave to any other owners of 300''s if I see them driving by. Again, faster than most...I like this ''93 better than my ''90. It is a beautiful saphire blue with grey interior. I got a manual this time and I am loving it. The previous owner put a chip on (eventhough it is a n/a and doesn''t do as much, you can still tell a diff.) and a stillen intake on it. I am considering putting headers/cat back on it. Just to give it that extra growl and the hp is nice too. And beat the TTs (no turbo lag and more hp). BUT as is, it is a wonderful car and I highly recommend it as the "cure for the commmon car". If you want looks, then you want this car. If you want a good handler and to make ppl who drive pseudo sportscars jealous, then you need this. Not many ppl have them and even though it is older, I still have ppl ask what kind of car it is and is it new??? What rock have they been under? It was import of the year when it was here 90-96 (I''m not sure on the years). Anyway, I LOVE THIS CAR!
Weakness:
again, the insurance, gas, and maintenance. If you want to haul ppl around and lots of stuff, don''t get this. Get a 2+2--just kidding. It''s not much bigger. This is my second Z....I would have no other car (at this point). Yes, this is another review of a 300, but this one is much different than my last one. In more ways than just being a coupe rather than a 2+2. Similar Products Used: my 90. yeah, they are the same car BUT this one is much better mechnically and has the nicer stuff on it as Nissan improved them ever so slightly. |

Ours has been very dependable. Everything that has went wrong or has been replaced is to be expected for the age of the car. The inteior is roomy, even for a 6''+ person, it has many options that new cars don''t offer standard, it''s comfortable, and rides and handles good. And of course you can''t forget the good looks.
Weakness:
Insurance rates, cost of parts/labor (if you can do it yourself, do it), and the gas milage. It''s a sports car though, what''d you expect? Awesome car. When we first saw it we couldn''t believe it was 9yrs old. (bought in 1999) We still get comments on how the car looks, and people can''t believe its a 1990. Overall its a very good, reliable, fun, and fast car. It has everything you could want: good sporty looks, speed, and it''s not a common car. Similar Products Used: 3000GT or Supra |

Fast, and a butt-load of power!! Possibly faster than my Supra. R-A-R-E, this''ll stand out in the crowd. Definitely a swank interior.
Weakness:
weighs 3600lbs, and gas sucks. But hey, if you can''t afford it, what the funk did you buy it for anyways? Ha ha ha, thats right, a 1992 for $2000. Why? Whoever put the new turbo on, put it on WRONG and it had screwed the car up. It would''ve cost $4000 to fix it, but being a technician at Nissan, i bought the car and fixed the turbo myself. Some people just don''t know anything about cars and turbo systems. Similar Products Used: None |
