Strength:

handling, power (torque), driver view, comfort, size and utility.

Weakness:

replacement parts can be expensive. Timing belts aren't easy to change.

Excellent sports car. The handling is exceptional and the steering is the best I've ever felt. Plenty of power for the streets and the styling is classic. The car is just the right size offering 4 seats, cargo capacity and an outward view as good as any economy car. Very reliable too.

I wrote this review out, and it was deleted, I dont want to write it out again. basically, the car is the best bang for your buck at under 10K, if you enjoy turning some wrenches.

Strength:

Performance. Handling style reliability comfort everything... Great car if you take care of it.

Weakness:

require some knowledge and maintenance are getting down to the price where ricers will want one/can afford one.... Those poor cars.

Great car, lots of torque down low. Prefect for city driving and hole shots! The car is great, I have no other comments for it. The handling is fantastic, the ride is very nice, sporty, handles like it's on rails. The engine sounds great! Top speed is around 150mph. Has all the comfort features I want, automatic climate control, great stereo (Alpine), and the seats are great for long drives. I have driven this car for 18 hours straight and didn't want to leave the driver's seat! The styling is classy and inderstated. It looks like a sports car without the pretentious wings/spooilers/crap that the newer cars seem to love. Very reliable, do all the maintenance on time and it'll be as reliable as a Japanese car. The parts prices are good, but learn to do the work yourself. Most "mechanics" don't even know about these cars and tend to screw up even simple repairs. Very easy to work on once you start to learn about them and have the factory manuals.

Strength:

Excellent handling, nothing short of an NSX is better. Engine is smooth as silk. After driving Corvette's for a while, I never knew an engine could be this smooth. Timeless style Brakes that could pull your teeth out, that was before I upgraded them to turbo spec. Now they are insane.

Weakness:

Its not a turbo Some say the repair costs are too high. Compared to what, a Toyota Camry? Get real. Its a Porsche and costs a lot less then other Porsche's to fix.

I grew up with sports cars. My dad always had a Corvette and his friends always had something fast. This was my first real sports car (my previous Honda's do NOT count) when I bought it back in 1996. If I had to do it all over agian, I'd buy the same car.

Cheap speed, great handling - my kids adore this car!

Weakness:

Expensive maintenance. Hey, it's a Porsche (read: high performance sports car)!

I was never a fan of automobiles until I bought an 85.5 944. I drove it 7 yrs for 275,000 miles with no major problems. I loved it so much I bought an 86 turbo. Great car; reliable and fast! I will always own a 944.
