DESCRIPTION

The Porsche 944 was manufactured for the 1982-1991 model years, making its debut in the United States as a 1983 model. The predecessor to the 944 is the 924, and its successor is the 968.

Strength:

Great car for those that must own a Porsche on a Corolla budget.

Weakness:

Slow and unreliable.

Hmmm... 7 reveiews all on the same day with perfect scores? Sounds a little fishy to me. My friend had a 944. Bought it just so he could say he owned a Porsche. It was a slow, ugly, unreliable piece of junk.

Strength:

Boost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great handling and well balanced Porsche Brakes....nuff said Very comfortable

Weakness:

I don't have enough money to mod it as fast as I'd like to.... Some parts are expensive, but hey, the car was more than $30k in 1986!!! What was the average price of a car then?

Awesome car, nicest car I've ever owned and the fastest as well. Boost is addicting and the looks are sweet. Great to drive, and comfortable as well.

Power, handling, quality, and endless admiring looks

Weakness:

Parts and labor are pricey but I do all own wrenching anyway.

This is my 3rd 944, 2 Turbos and an N/A. I sold my beloved Miata after driving the 944. Solid car with excellent build quality. All of mine have been fairly trouble free for a car of this age. They are rock stable at higher speeds and nimble at low speed. All and all a great entry level Porsche that still spanks 90% of thye Japanese road warriors. I love these cars!

Strength:

Impeccable build quality, good power, perfect handling and balance. It even has a fair amount of cargo space. It amazes me that more people don't realize what a great cars these are.You could have 3 of these for the price of a new car. Oh yeah, they don't rust!

Weakness:

None, as long as you keep up on the required maintenance.

Timeless styling and supercar handling in a sports car that can more than hold it's own against anything on the market today. The 911 gets all the press, but the 944 series are much better overall cars.

Strength:

Style, interior comfort and roominess. Highway performance with great gas mileage.

Weakness:

A little weak on low end torque.

Without a doubt the best looking, best performing sports per dollar. I could afford to upgrade but I refuse to give this car up. Love it very much!!

Best car I've ever owned. Hasn't given me a single problem to date and still looks like a new car. I love my 944 (I've owned 3 in the past and all have been excellent, reliable cars. I would highly recommend buying one.

Handling, tuning potential, strength of engineering, styling, and inexpensive entry to the Porsche marquee.

Weakness:

Expensive parts, expensive shop labor, age.

Few cars can match the performance for it's price. It's handling is legendary and it can be easily modified to over 300hp.

Strength:

handeling. beauty. adequate power. handeling.

Weakness:

reliability. harder to work on, until you really know the car. It's an 18 year old car.

great peice of machinery, however not for everyone. I slave for the car, the car rewards me. thats how it goes. performance wise, at stock, the car is a beautiful performer. with limited funds, 400 RWHP can be attained easily from this car. Canyon roads a a great time waster, and the track becomes an addiction. Only recommended to those who know what their getting into, and are bitten by the Porsche bug.
