Strength:

Dependable. Ease of placing car seats and children in the 3rd row seat from the rear. Seems to be a large depreciation off the lot but holds a good value after that.

Weakness:

No storage when the 3rd seat is up. The wide solid panel in the rear creates a large blind spot looking to the passenger side. Blind spot using driver's side mirror and have to look to side and check.

Very happy with the car after 2 years. Hatch back hard to close. Eventually broke the strap and had to replace. Recently had a traffic accident resulting in a roll-over. The car was totaled but we got out without any major problems thanks to the seat belts, air bags and strength of the cabin.

Strength:

Good leg room in the third row. Great in the snow.

Weakness:

see my product summary. When the third ro is up, no real trunk room.

Don't buy this car. I should have known when the passenger seat caught on fire the day after Idrove it off the lot. Replaced one hub after a year then the other hub at 65000 mi. Major oil leak costing $1200, at 70K miles, then at 72K, the air compressor in the air conditioning blew, andother $1000. Even the key fob fell apart, costing me $250 to replace and reprogram. The tires keep wearing out, trunk doesn't raise up without major muscle. The gas gauge has just strted to go wacko after it goes below a half tank. Have to do a math calculation with the mileage to figure out how much gas I have. I amnot getting that fixed beacause the dealer says it will cost over $500 to replace because they have to take apart the whole gas tank. I love the car for the first year or so, and know it is the bane of my existance. I can not stand the fact that I am still dumping $$ into this car and it has depreciated so much that I will have to pay someone to take it. Even all the plastic inside is cheap and falling off. Had to replace all the buttons because the paint chipped off.

Strength:

High seat, good road view. Easy access in/out. Lots of storage in the back and especially with the rear seats lowered. Excellent ride and handling in the winter and AWD gives very good traction and braking.

Weakness:

Rear hatch recall. Transmission is about to cost us $1900. The dealer claims we abused it. We have had 2 Pontiacs, a Sentra, a minivan and they all went between 111000 (currently owned Pontiac) and 187000 with none of them having any transmission problems.

AT 45000 miles we are having a serious transmission problem.

Interior Comfort and 3rd Row Seat

Weakness:

No Power. Overall fuel mileage around 18mpg. Highest on highway is 20 mpg.

Would someone please steal this 2002 Buick Rendezvous! I hate it. It is a lemon from day one, gets bad gas mileage, has no power, and uses 1 quart of oil per 2000 miles!

Strength:

Solid built, good looking car. It cost very little to insure. Lots of storage space.

Weakness:

GAS MILEAGE is not what is advertized! We got just over 16 MPG with first tank. Combined city highway driving. If I would have know this ahead of time, I would have considered more powerful cars that got about the same MPG. My GMC extend cab 8 cyl 4.10 rear truck get 17 MPG combined! Wife complains that their isn't much power when the AC is on.

We were looking for a vehicle to replace the minivan where my wife would still sit high, have comfortable seats and priced right. The Rendezvous was the only vehicle we looked at that had adjustable lumber seats. My wife loves the car dispite its shortcomings. For the price we paid, we got a lot of car. I feel really bad for those who optioned this enemic beast to the hilt. For that kind of money you could buy a lot better

I looked at all the small SUVs in the price range. Comfort won over all other elements. Guess I will be paying for that comfort at the pumps.

Strength:

Quiet smooth ride, handling, comfort and attention to detail

Weakness:

Can anyone tell me how to turn off the day Time running Lights? Just a little more horse power off the line would be good. The mileage is about the same as my Jeep Grand Cherokee that I traded so it is not an issue. The only complaint is from my partner who pinches her fingers when she puts the sun visor/mirror back up. This is the space between the mirror and the entry hand assist on the area above the window on the passenger side.

Well I searched for a new suv for weeks. Drove Sante Fe, the only model that was at all drivable for me was the 3.5 model which was MSRP$25000.00. Dealer wouldn't go lower than $23,000.00 out the door plus registration. Drove the Kia Sorento. Much more Suv for about $2,000.00 less. The kia dealer also sold GMC vehicles. Then I saw my Rendezvous. It has 7,000 miles on it but it was like new. It was a salesman's demo. After I drove it I can honestly say "We LOVE IT". It is so much more car than the others that I looked at. It is like driving my 2004 Honda Odyssey, which I also love. I paid $18,125.00 for this beauty which was $10,000.00 less than brand new. Got the remainder of the factory waranty and added extended the bumper to bumper for 72 months. All that for less than the price of the New Sante fe which I hated.

Strength:

Reliable, very comfortable for adults even in the back seat(without the 3rd roww seat), easy entry and exit, sharp look, great in snow and ice, lot of convenient features in the base model

Weakness:

Road noise in the cabin; mainly for the front passengers; might be due to tires. Could use more engine power; current horsepower is ok with one person in the car but in the passing lane with my wife and 2 kids, I have to push it to wake it up. GM should definetely consider increasing the horsepower in the base model.

In general this is a very good car, reliable, comfortable, good handling during the winter months and a commanding view of the road. I have 40,000 miles on this car and so far I took it in the dealership for oil change and tire rotations.
