Strength:

style and engine power and that is it

Weakness:

-customer service is a joke -reliability -way overpriced for just a beefed up tahoe -not at all fuel efficient

Don't buy this junk. Don't get me wrong, the escalade is a dream to drive and admire, BUT as far as gas mileage, reliability and dealer service (THESE ARE THE BIGGEST SNOTS A DEALERSHIP COULD POSSIBLLITY HAVE) is concerned, it is a nightmare to own. I've only had this truck for five months (5500 miles) and it'sbeen in the shop 8, that's right 8 times for electrical problems, problems with the tranny and some annoying rattles. (NOT GOOD FOR A $53,000 TRUCK). Gas mileage is only 10 MPG average. The biggest thing I dread is taking it in for repairs. The dealer and the technicions are VERY rude and disrespectful. Cadillac DOES NOT know how to respect it's customers. That's an understatement!! I'll be trading this in soon and I'll either get a Lexus RX 330 or a Toyota Landcruiser.

Toyota Landcruiser (1997) Great truck, never had any problems. Toyota has MUCH better customer service. I regret getting rid of it for this stupid escalade. What was I thinking?

Great power!! Step on the gas and you feel the horse power. Even when pulling a trailer.

Weakness:

If anything, the steering may be too soft for my liking. Access to the rear seating is difficult. Forget about adults, it's for kids only.

Great overall car. Everything I expected. Excellent power when towing. Pulled a trailer from Seattle to L.A. and back and barely knew we had a load behind us. Gas mileage is about 13.5 in city.

Prior car was a Range Rover, no comparison, this is far superior in almost all aspects.

none that i have seen so far

I should begin by saying that I am a car nut. I have had this car exactly 2 and 1/2 months and I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a vehicle as much as the Escalade. It has absolutely everything I could want in a vehicle. My previous car was an MDX which I had for about 15 months which I found boring. With the Escalade there is nothing lacking. Sure, as many of the review state, the gas mileage is not great. But, what are these people thinking? This is an 8 cylinder 345 horsepower engine; did you really think that you would be getting good gas mileage. Who cares if the mileage isn't great? Everything else is. This will probably be only the second car I have ever owned that I will drive to the end of my lease term. I usually find someone to take over my lease, but why would I with this car. Even when I took it in for a simple oil change I was treated like royalty. Haven't had any problems so far. It is just starting to snow here in Toronto and I can't wait to drive it in the snow. I have driven many of the foreign cars, my last one was an MDX, and I wouldn't trade this Cadillac for any of them. Say what you want but so far the service has been great and the dealer has been better than any foreign dealer I have ever dealt with.

Power! Appearance! This vehicle is loaded with EVERYTHING possible! (vanity)

Weakness:

Bumper to bumper problems!

Had vehicle for 13 months. Went to shop within the 1st month for battery drain, replaced A/C compressor twice within 1 1/2 months, now in shop for 2nd time regarding "Service Stability". Driving on the road today, and vehicle all but "locked up" on me. Took tow truck over 3 hrs to pick it up. Informed by GM not buy back qualified, haven't had 3 of the "same" problems which were unfixable. They want same problem to happen again. Maybe next time I will have my 2 children (7 & 4) with me on the interstate!!!!! Dealership that has been servicing vehicle have really tried to make me happy, but "lemons" are beyond their control! Very unhappy. Ended up with this Escalade due to problems with an '03 Expendition I unforunately traded an "01 Lincoln Navigator for!!!! Payback is truly HELL!

LOOKS, POWER, PRESTIGE, RIDE, COMFORTABILITY, AFFORABLE,... EVERY THING IS ALREADY CUSTOM NO AFTERMARKET JUNK TO BUY. NICEST SUV BY FAR..I THINK BETTER THAN A BMW

Weakness:

MUFFLER,... NO HIDE AWAY FOLD DOWN REAR SEAT LIKE THE EXPEDITION..DASH COULD LOOK A LITTLE MORE DIFFERENT THAN THE SUBURBAN TO SET THE CADILLAC APART..

ok everyone this is the honest truth...from a car fanatic..little things have to be right for a thumbs up from me..first off. i drove everything out there and this all wheel drive escalade is the best...i love this car and i have had all kinds of suvs..this is the best out there..worth every dime more than the tahoe ..power is awesome for this size car..looks are equally impressive although i did have to put 22 inch rims on for it to look good and a new grill but thats personal preferance...the ride suffers a little cuz of the larger rims but not that bad..definetly worth it...it stills rides better than a stock tahoe..yes there is little things that might need warranty work but i have not owned a american car yet that came perfect to me from the dealer..there is always some tweaking to do to get the car in perfect shape..but thats what a warranty is for..cadillac takes real good care of you...better than chevy...the only real problem the awd escalade is having is the mufflers..they are defective and it is going to take time to work it out..they bang and ping when the muffler gets hot...this is a new design only for the 2003 345 h.p. motors and is flawed...but the good news is that cadillac told me to buy any aftermarket exhaust i wanted and they would reimburse me...now that customer service..gm products have a lot of problems but so do ford and dodge so we are stuck with limited choices...and the best choice is cadillac...

EVERY GOD DAM THING!!!! AND THE HEATED SEATS FRONT AND ABACK REALLY WORK WELL AND THE WOOD AND LEATHER STERRING WHEEL...GOTTA LOVE THAT

Weakness:

SOME CHEAP INTERIOR MATERIALS (HARD BLACK PLASTIC WHERE WINDOW SWITCHES ARE) THE CENTER CONSOLE ZEBRANO WOOD IS SUPPOSED TO BE REAL BUT I DONO...AND THE DOOR AND STEERING WHEEL REAL WOOD FOR SURE IS GORGEOUS.

THIS CAR'S EXTERIOR IS THE NICEST EXTERIROR IN THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD! TURNS HEADS AND MAKES PPL GO WOW!!!!!....THE SEATS ARE SOOO COMFY AND THE INTERIOR IS LUXURIOUS ALTHOUGH NOT 'SPECIAL' ENOUGH...I THINK WE ALL CAN AGREE IT SHARES A LITTLE TOO MUCH WITH OTHER GM'S. THE RIMS ARE NICE (MINE ARE CHROME) WHICH MAKES A MORE STANDOUT LOOK BUT THEY COULD BE 20" FOR SURE. THE POWER IS SUPERB AND CRUISING DOWN AT 90 MPH/160 KM/H FEELS AMAZING- STEERING IS GOOD AND ACCELERATION IS BY FAR THE BEST IN ITS CLASS. GREAT ROOM...GOOD TRUNK SPACE AND SURPRISINGLY COMFY 3RD ROW SEATS. HAVING TO MANUALLY REMOVE THEM IS A DRAG THO...THE MEMORY EVERYTHING FOR DRIVER 1 AND 2 IS INCREDIBLE AND ONSTAR IS ACTUALLY USEFUL....GREAT TECHNOLOGY...SOLID SOUND SYSTEM BUT NOT AS GOOD AS MY WIFE'S BRAND NEW '04 TL..(AMAZING CAR TOO) THE BRAKE FEEL IS ALRIGHT BUT COULD BE BETTER...TRANSMISSION ROCKS AND CUPHOLDERS ACTUALLY HOLD CUPS...NCIE RUNNING BOARDS BUT COULD USE LIGHTING...GREAT VISIBILITY POWER ONE-TOUCH FRONT WINDOWS ARE GOOD BUT THEY SHOULD BE IN THE REAR AS WELL AND THE REAR WINDOWS SHOULD GO DOWN COMPLETELY....GREAT SMOOTH RIDE WITHOUT BEING TOO BUMPY TRI-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL IS GREAT...AND THE MOST PRIZE ACCESSORY IS THE SEPARATE AUDIO SYSTEM FOR MY 2 TEENS THANK GOD! THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR BUT IVE ONLY HAD IT 3 MONTHS...U GET NOTICED WHICH IS ALWAYS NCIE....GOOD SOLID FEEL AND THE BIG SUV IS REALLY BIG THAT HAS IT'S GOOD AND BADS. FAIRLY LARGE SUNROOF. VOICE ACTIVATED IN DASH PHONE (ONSTAR) IS REALLY NICE TO HAVE AND THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS WELL SO DO THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BUT THE MULTI-TASK LEVER IS A BIT CONFUSING,,,U GET USED TO IT....LARGE STORAGE AND PRISTINE IMAGE!! I LOVE IT SOO MUCH AND IT IS PRICEY BUT NOT AS PRICEY AS THE LEXUS LX470, RANGE ROVER, AND MB G-500....THE NAVIGATOR WAS 5 GRAND LESS...BUT THE ESCALADE BEAT THE PANTS DOWNRIGHT OFF THE MB AND LINCOLN....THOUGH I HAD TO TAKE TIME TO DECIDE BETWEEN IT AND THE LEXUS BECAUSE THE LEXUS HAS BETTER FIT AND FINISH IN THE INSIDE ....BUT WHAT THE HELL I WANT STARES AND A FAST , BEAUTIFUL CAR! AND I GOT ONE THAT I LVOE

This vehicle has had nothing but problems. Loud banging noise from bottom of car which resulted in a new muffler/exhaust system being installed. Again the vehicle made a noise and another muffler/exhaust system had to be installed. Not normal for a 6 month old car to have 2 new mufflers! Cd player was replaced 3 times due to malfunction. Headliner inside vehicle was replaced due to not being cut right and installed completely, still not right. Now it is currently in shop because the rear strut went bad causing the message center to read "service ride control". When I took it in and they read the codes it showed sensor for strut bad and an issue with ABS system. I too have had to drive rental cars. (The rental guy and I are old friends by now I see him at least every week) :) I can't believe I am paying $800 a month to drive rentals. My car has been in shop at least 30 days. The big thing is GM bought back my 2001 Denali due to transmission issues and they gave me a credit to use towards another GM product so unfortunately I had to purchase another GM product and this is what I got, LUCKY ME!
